Now you listen to me. Digimon World 1 for the PS1 was one of my favorite game of all time. Just being able to invite Digimon back to my town alone just made me so happy to play that game. Bandai, you might just have something right here.
Digimon World Re:Digitize was never released in English, however someone online did release a 100% english patch for it about 7 years ago. It was the first Digimon game after Digimon World 1 to continue that type of open world, tamagotchi raising style, recruit digimon back to your town kind of gameplay. I highly recommend you check that one out too, whether you have a jailbroken PSP or just simply emulate it on a PC. Don't even need a very powerful computer to run it.
The OG Digimon World 1 for PSX is also, literally, my favorite game of all time.

As soon as I heard bathroom time it took me back to 1999 PS Digimon World. That game still holds a special place in my heart.
This is a sequel to Digimon World 1.
There's also Digimon World Re:Digitize and Re:Digitize Decode which also have the v-pet RPG mechanics.
Play this game on easy mode, the normal mode is actually added for the localization and it’s more like a hard mode where you just get less stats from training and whatnot. The easy mode is the intended difficulty setting.

I'm fine with the extra challenge. Reduced gains from training means you need to manage your time more effectively. Also I could never bring myself to play anything on easy lol

I'm so happy Digimon is finally being recognized for what it is, instead of unfairly being judged as "a Pokémon ripoff" by people who've never seen, read, or played it.
As a Pokemon fan, I always respected Digimon. But I lost interest in the anime show and games after 2004, though.

This is actually just like the 1st digimon world of ps1. Since this has the same gameplay wherein you are inviting digimons to come to the town. And instead of 1 digimon. You have 2 digimon.
This is pretty much a direct sequel to DW1, the player character from that game shows up in this one

You will love this game. Also, have you looked into Digimon survive? It's not very heavy in the combat aspect, it's mostly a lot of story but it's fun.

Hopefully you played the OG Digimon World 1 for PSX. That's where it started for most of us. Awesome that they made Re:Digitize and Next Order, because I was so disappointed originally when World 2, 3, and 4 was nothing like the original in terms of gameplay.

It's a sequel taking place after the original, not a remake.
There's also Digimon World: ReDigitize and ReDigitize Decode which share the same JPRG V-Pet gameplay.
They remade the Digimon game from the 90s that was on the Playstation 😭🥰 this is my childhood I cant wait to see all the locations but revamped!

Digimon world 1 remake! With online pvp and redigitze system
This was a PS4 classic for me, the first game I got for it. So awesome to see it coming to Switch. The day/night rhythm of the game and the mellow music are so soothing.

@@luzmaria5006 Nah it looks better irl imo. I don't remember ever feeling like the graphics were trash while I was playing it. There was a Digimon World game for PS2/XBOX/GC that didn't look as good as this. The actual game and the music especially are what do it for me in this one though. It feels like a legit v-pet/tamogachi game translated into 3rd person.

@@luzmaria5006 To be fair, PS4 graphics weren't as current as today's hardware. Plus, Digimon doesn't make as much as Pokemon and I would argue this port looks more finished than Scarlet and Violet.

@@wimbledofy it originally was for the vita they updated some graphics and added some new digimon and story for the ps4 release, now they added faster run speed and a easier game mode which will make training way less grindy in the switch release plus whatever else they add.

The only Digimon games I'm happy for are games like this, Decode, and DW1. Other games are plain terrible. I love this Tamagotchi-style gameplay. Very true to the original Digimon virtual pet they released back in 1997.
I hope one day we'll have Digimon game where we can explore the world of Digimon Adventure using the original casts. Digimon Adventure have some of very unique maps and location, like File Island, Etemon's pyramid, Toy Town and I want to experience it like the TV shows.
There was a PSP game that was a full adaptation of Adventure. It was only released in Japan, but there's a fan translation.

First dubbed digimon game in a while! The pet Sim style of digimon was never really my thing, but I hope people enjoy nevertheless.

I'm hearing people are upset about the graphics but it's a years old game that have better graphics than recent pokemon titles....but the pokemon fans would never admit that.
I have a feeling digimon is about to have a huge gain in popularity in the west.
Switch fans complaining about the graphics of a 2016 Vita port on their graphically underpowered system is hilarious to me
getting it 100% was a big journey, especially with easy mode now and the ability to run faster, it should be much easier! definitely recommending it to anyone who likes raising monsters and wholesome (but also at times dark) moments!

does easy mode increase your digimons life cycle?
@Shayne Beaudin It's the original Japanese difficulty before the US version made it harder for some reason. All it does is increase stat gains from the gym and battles. So while it doesn't increase lifespan, it does mean you can make more progress during each cycle.
@@hollamonm wasn't there similar game which was less popular and used same battle system as this version of digimon but was about fossils and jaiden made video on it
been planning to buy Vita just to play the game but thank god, it will be on Switch next year. Can't wait to explore the Digital World again.

Been a pokemon fan and have played all the versions.. but Digimon, especially the ps1 version is always on my top games of all time. Knowing that you can fuse with 2 mons is just mind blowing.. deffinately excited for this game..

Honestly I love an RPG that isn’t just a standard turn based one. I love the turn based digimon ones like world and cyber sleuth but after multiple decades of video games reinventing the formula I need something more substantial, and this looks to provide that kind of experience!

Nope. Re digitize isn’t a true sequel of digimon world 1. Mameo is a MC in digimon world 1, so this game is a direct sequel.

Man, seeing Digimon like Garurumon and MetalGreymon so tiny compared to their previous iterations is weird.
I guess "X-Evolve" is what the franchise is calling "Jogress Evolution" now? No more "DNA Digivolve"?
Jogress is in this game too, but this game also has an ExE evolution that let's you fuse any 2 Mega or 1 Mega and 1 Ultimate Digimon temporarily to an Ultra if you have maxed out bond on both partners and it can also activate when you loose a battle, so in other words they turned the power of anime friendship into a mechanic you can use.
Just please be better than scarlet and violet

It's a great game it took me a while to get used to everything but having two sick Digimon and going through different pairs because of death became a grind that made finishing it really satisfying.

I'm not gonna lie that game did not age well 😅
I've watched people play this game and longed to play it myself (reminds me of OG Digimon Vpet). Hopefully next year, I'm gonna get this to experience it myself. Hoping for some up-to-date QOL regarding training/battling and exp. The streams focused on the grind to get better monsters/ learn moves from enemies which watching isn't too bad but playing that grind? Not so much.
Theres a reason it reminds you of the Vpets, the original game (digimon world) was based off the digivice toys of the time and played similar to this game (you raise a digimon while exploring the island to recruit other digimon) and was the first game of its type. Since then there have only been 2 other games like it (both digimon and one was essentially a remake of the first game to an extent).
Season 1, 2 and 3 of digimon was peak childhood.
