    I don't know why your videos recently came up in my feed, but I am so glad they did. I've made this fish and chips (with no chips?) twice now. My husband and I love your recipe even better than traditional fried fish. The coating is light and crispy and not greasy at all. It's really too bad you have quit making videos. Maybe the new TH-cam algorithm will bring more viewers your way.

      Great recipe. Although I have no whey powder. I probably would have just called it fried fish, though, as there is nothing to substitute for the chips. Maybe zucchini could be dipped in the batter and fried?

    I have been looking for a no carb recipe for batter since I started a plant based diet a few months back. Thank you so much. I just tried it and it works really great. I used my Protein Powder that I make my shakes with. It’s not Whey but it works. Fried fish or shrimp has always been my favorite food. I’m a diabetic and this will help me keep my numbers down. I must subscribe after this much needed recipe.

    This recipe was so very good I made fried zucchini strips with your recipe and we dipped them in ranch dressing…
    the only different thing that I did was that I dried off the zucchini as directed but then I dipped it into seasoned (with salt, pepper, and seasoning salt) almond flour and protein powder in a bowl about equal parts and then they were dipped into your great mixture and cooked ! So excellent! Thank you will definitely make it again 💖💖💖

    Can anyone tell me what I may have done wrong? I followed the recipe exactly, but had two problems: 1) the batter wouldn't stick to the fish. It would all come off when I pulled it from the batter. 2) When I finally got it coated and into the oil, all the batter pooled around the fish and basically encased it in a big pancake. The batter seemed pretty thick, so I don't think viscosity was the issue. Unless it can be TOO thick? Help!

    • @ketofinedining8464
      @ketofinedining8464  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm sorry it didn't turn out right. Did you soaked up moisture from the fish using paper towels? The fish has to be really dry before you dip it in the batter.

    I like the idea of this recipe, however when I calculate the macros it's not too great unfortunately. For 2 small pieces of fish and half the batter it's 460 calories/7 g carb. And 1/4 of the tartar sauce (which is probably what you would need for that amount of fish) is 362 calories. So that's 820 calories/7 g carb for just 2 pieces of fish and some tartar sauce. As someone who tries to stick to 1500-2000 calories and under 20 carbs a day that is a petty good chunk.
    I guess this would be food for a supper and then your breakfast and lunch don't have much of anything. It's all about balance

      Sure, it has a ton of calories, I guess it's good for the ppl that need a lot of calories because of weight training

      Keto diets don't count "calories".... calorie diets never work long term.

    stupid question.. how is baking powder keto?

    • @ketofinedining8464

      Baking powder has 28g of carbs per 100g. Since there is very small amount of baking powder in the recipe, this makes amount of carbs extremely low.

      Most people can stay in ketosis when they consume between 20 -50g. Of carbs per day.
