A lot of ppl who entered trucking in last 5 years, only saw gains. That set up unrealistic norms, which lead to putting more trucks & building larger fleets. Rates today reflect reality of trucking. People simply started living like millionaires while doing blue-collar work.

BCs long haul trucking depends 80% on bonded freight coming on our ports
Rest 20% is stuff that moves on other sources
Last 2 years were hot due to massive shipping from source countries for major car makers specially
During corona our ports and entry to our countries were limited but Asian countries who make these stuff never stopped their production and once North America opened doors all that over production was sold to US Canadian buyers which caused freight rates bump by 3-4 times
Now there buyers have their warehouse full and they don’t need anything fast like normally so they use railway instead of long haul trucks
Many guys I know who bought multiple truck trailer units during last 2 years boom on heavy payments
