I love to make tallow goat milk soap. It is so moisturizing and sudsy. Making your own products is the best because we know what's in it and we can add any herbs or any natural skin-loving ingredients into it and don't have to worry about harmful chemicals. I also make a tallow cream using cocoa butter and shea butter for my family. Blessings
Are are so right! Our Tallow goat milk and honey soap is my absolute favorite right now. It lathers so nicely and leaves my skin feeling amazing! Currently working on a rosemary and aloe soap bar recipe that I think will be a good combo
@@humbleservantshomestead7974 Oh! yes, that's a very good combo. Rosemary and aloe are awesome for sensitive skin and acne. I made that one too. I love it. I use it, especially for my face.
Thank you for sharing your soap making knowledge. I like the message on your shirt- God bless you and your household in Yeshua Hamasiach holy name, Amen!
Shalawam family, love love love it. Yall are so amazing. So grateful for everything the Homestead brings to us. Yes we would love more videos. Love you all
Happy Sabbath Day 🌞 this is a wonderful video 🤗. Thank you for sharing. I have beef tallow and plan on making soap with it. I can't wait to start my soap making journey 🤭. That's a beautiful soap. Thank you for sharing. Have a peaceful and blessed weekend 🙏🏾🕊️💕
Sis, I loved this video, thank you. Excellent teaching. Had no idea it was so easy. Do you have an Amazon store to purchase the products used? Lye, spatula, scale. Thawadah ❤️2❤️
I just rendered some beef suet (and tallow too) and finally decided to stop being intimidated by using lye. I have everything I need to make my soap. Thank u for this video.
I am so excited to see you doing what you do inside. I salute you Sister. I am learning a ton from you and your homestead. Keep sowing seeds in the Kingdom and teaching us how to get back to the old ways. We were much more self sufficient then.
@@humbleservantshomestead7974 It went great. I followed you on FB and tagged you on my posts about the soap. I want you to see. 👍 And, shared your video, of course.
This video was perfect timing for my sister and I. I rendered down and cleaned 2 gallons of tallow and so today I will be making tallow soap with my sister. Thank you for your recipe. Have a blessed day.
Love how beautiful your bars came out. Where did you get your tallow? It makes a nice hard bar, doesn't it? I love your shirt. I've been a Christian for more than 50 years and it's been the one anchor in my life I can trust. God bless you, dear. Happy soaping!
I render down the beef fat that I get from our local butcher to make tallow. It makes the bar hard and the soap bar lasts if you wait until after it cures the full timeframe to start using it.
I have watched a bunch of videos on making soap, in preparation to do it myself. Yours is the most well explained and well demonstrated video I have watched. I will use it as my guide and throw out the rest! 😊
Excellent video, thank you for demonstrating. Your video is the only one that I've seen that shows the amount of steam that occurs when you added the lye to water, I was like "wow, it does make a lot of steam" ☺️. Your video was very nicely done. Thank you for inspiring me to try this. Blessings!
I was told that tallow reduces foaming properties am surprised you used only lye solution. So the questions go this way, will this tallow soap foam and can it be use to take a bath or just for laundry. I must not forget to say thank you, you look amazingly beautiful.
Thanks Sis that is a great question! These soap bars will be used for bathing not laundry. They do give bubbles although not as much as my other soap bars/recipes. They are great for someone that has sensitive skin. This is actually the way soap was made in the past. Either tallow or lard was used as the oil base and only lye and water were added. I guess you can say simple but effectively gets the job of cleaning your body done. I'll be sure to do a video on using this soap bar and another soap bar that I make so that you all can see the comparison between the 2. Peace and blessings family
Woow, I'm impressed with your answer. That shows your really know your work, some people don't reply, rather they skip. I just came across your video now and Obviously I'm subscribing to your channel. Looking forward for more different way and easy ways of making a safe Bar soap. Kudos 👏 💐
I am a Tallow user, although I have never made a 100% tallow soap, my standard recipes include at minimum 25% tallow. I just rendered suet for the first time, I can wait to make my soap from it, I also plan to make some butters and creams with it.
Yes I have a whole different set of bowls, spatulas, and measuring cups for soap making. That includes the sticker blender as well. It's only used for soap making.
Thank you for such a thorough tutorial, I will for sure use this! How many ounces of essential oils did you add at the end? I don’t understand how to use the soap calc
Oh so I would like to know how to do you how much of the essential oil to put in? I wanna do sandalwood maybe it sounds like a guess and check game haha
This was a wonderful, straight to the point video. I wanted to get into making soaps different ways. Id love to see you do one with goat milk if possible. Also, if you do any canning of the things you harvest, I'd love to see that as well! Really great video!
You can substitute the water for milk but the milk will need to be frozen or almost frozen to prevent the chemical reaction with the lye from scorching the sugars in the milk. You must add the lye very slowly, little by little, and mix, mix, mix. If you want whiter bars you'll need to put the soap mixture in your mould then put it in the freezer for 24 hours, then let it sit at room temperature for another 24 hours before unmoulding. Those are the instructions for using milk I've found online.
Thank you so much for sharing! For those of us that live in a city, is there a family owned business you recommend for us to purchase tallow from? Also, do the soap bars need to cure at all?
I’m concerned about you recommending vinegar if you spill lye solution on your skin. You should only use cool water if you get lye solution on your skin. Not sure how old this video is but vinegar could actually make the burn worse! 🥰

Thank you!
I also make soap. Great demonstration. I live in Ga. are you already in Ga?
How many grams of essential oils did you mix in? 😊
Have you used anything else to make soap outside of tallow , like lard maybe
Me too 📝 🤓
Where does the tallow come from? Or what is tallow? I assume its a fat
It’s similar to lard, rendered fat. Maybe they got it from the sheep? He has a video on processing the sheep recently.
Tallow is rendered beef or sheep fat
What did you cover the top with when it was curing overnight?
I used a piece of cardboard box and then placed a throw blanket on top to keep it insulated and ensure gel phase.
How much essential oils did you use please and can you use it for bathing
What is tallow made of
Tallow is beef fat
Also, I was considering adding in some dry ground cinnamon. Will that work?
Yes 👍
What was the last oil she added pls
Watch the video… and pay attention 😉😉
Thank you so much for sharing! For those of us that live in a city, is there a family owned business you recommend for us to purchase tallow from? Also, do the soap bars need to cure at all?
She mentioned ‘curing’ several times in the video - most especially at the end. All soaps require Curing - irregardless of technique
Thank you for the video. How much EO did you add to your soap please?
Fancy pants - it depends on the size of your batch. Preferably no higher than 3%
