All CX50’s are made in AL regardless of engine so that’s not the reason for the feature packaging. It’s solely because Mazda chooses to limit certain features to the top trim Turbo models. They do it on the CX5 too. You may want to also take into account the reduced rear legroom versus the gas CX50’s. Cargo and rear seat room were already a bit of a weakness of the 50’s when compared to the Tucson/Sportage specifically. As a former CX5 Turbo owner I definitely agree that their interior quality is indeed a step above the competition. I just wish they could find a way to be more space efficient in their packaging. That’s the only reason I’m a former Mazda owner. I needed more space and didn’t want something as big as the 70/90.
I think Toyota has fixed that issue by cladding the cable so that moisture is drained away. My understanding is that the CX-50 has the updated cladding.
Crazy that the CX-50 is 3 inches wider than the Nissan Rogue ...

No heated steering wheel available on the hybrid is going to make me a “former” Mazda owner. Hello Hyundai!
Does the Mazda hybrid have the same cable gate issues as the RAV4 hybrid?
