    Had a chance to try out animation in #Krita? What were the pros and cons of your experience?

      Hi Master GioBarque! Thank you so much for watching! With some quick testing, it does look that vector layers can be used in the #Krita animation workspace! I'll do some further digging into this to see how it works! If you're curious to check it out as well, it talks about here in the Krita documentation (docs.krita.org/en/user_manual/vector_graphics.html)

      I just got started with it and I think it is amazing, it's incredible that such a good program is free and available for every, I think that it has some little details that might frustrate complete beginners like require to install ffmpeg for example, and I know it has a ton of tools but maybe they are a bit hard to find inside the software, but besides that it is a gem

    I'd like to see how to reposition the image sequence once it's imported.

    • @Photolearningism
      @Photolearningism  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Richard Cooper! Thank you so much for watching! This is a really interesting concept to explore - having played with some ideas in #Krita for a while, I can't see a way to relocate all imported images with the same movement. In the animation workspace, it does allow you to select more than one frame, but doesn't permit you to enact changes across them all at once. This being the case, it seems like the only option (unfortunately) is to reposition things within a video editor first, then export to an image sequence. Not ideal I'll grant you, but seems to be the only way presently. Hope that helps!

    hey, how do u turn on this scale on your canvas that kinda olds it in place? i dont have that and my canvas keeps on rotating and moving accidentally

    • @Photolearningism
      @Photolearningism  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Maria! Thank you for the question! In Krita, the canvas would typically hold fast unless rotated by a control (keyboard shortcut or quick action on a tablet). For reference, the keyboard controls are:
      -Ctrl and [ shortcut or the 4 key to rotate the canvas counterclockwise
      -Ctrl and ] shortcut or the 6 key to rotate the canvas clockwise
      -For quick mouse-based rotation, use the Shift and Space.
      I'm wondering if some combination of these shortcuts are being triggered inadvertently, which could cause the canvas to rotate. Hope that helps!

    • @Photolearningism
      @Photolearningism  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi instant digital! Thanks for checking out this video! To use the animation features of #Krita, switch to the Animation workspace under Window->Workspace->Animation. To import video, first ensure that the video has been exported from your video editor of choice as sequential frames (using a number format for naming). In #Krita and while in the Animation workspace, click File->Import animation frames, then use the provided window to select and load in the frames, using the number format naming to properly sequence the images. If helpful, I did a deep dive video on the Animation workspace here - th-cam.com/video/tDv3PbsmERw/w-d-xo.html - Hope it helps!

    How am I supposed to split a video into a dozens frames?

    • @Photolearningism
      @Photolearningism  ปีที่แล้ว

      HI Sketos! In Kdenlive, this can be done be Rendering with the "Image sequence" preset (PNG or JPEG usually work best). The amount of frames is determined by the FPS (frames per second) and or the range of video selected (the blue zone selector on the timeline), which can be used with "Selected Zone" on the Render settings to limit to a select number of frames. Hope that helps!

      HI Kyiomi! Thank you for checking out this video! Based on your question it may be worth a look at the Performance settings (under "Configure Krita") and tweaking up the General tab settings for more RAM consumption and more Swap file size (paged memory dumped to disc). Additionally, it may be worth a look at the Animation Cache tab and adjust the limits - I found some explanations of the settings here - docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/preferences/performance_settings.html#animation-cache - Hope that helps!

    • @Photolearningism
      @Photolearningism  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi egendron123! Thank you so much for watching! The initial resolution is determined by the scaling of the drawings or images imported into #Krita. For exporting, the resolution can be set using File -> Render Animation, noting that #FFMpeg is needed for exporting to video. If you're curious to learn more about #FFMpeg and where to get it, I did a focused video on it here - th-cam.com/video/2W4Z9_jwlgE/w-d-xo.html - Hope that helps!

      Hi TheStopmotion Dino! Thank you so much for watching! To my knowledge, all that is needed is a current version of #FFmpeg, which usually comes packaged with #Krita. However, it's possible that you may need to download an updated version of #FFmpeg and point #Krita to it when exporting the animation frames - Latest download versions are here - ffmpeg.org/download.html - Hope it helps

    • @Photolearningism
      @Photolearningism  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      #Kdenlive isn't necessary to export from #Krita, but can certainly accept individual frames, if the video export isn't working properly - it's a good second option! #Kdenlive is here, just in case - kdenlive.org/en/download

      Hi Demaro Wilson! Thank you so much for watching! We can certainly have a good laugh together on that one. 😀 Lighting is another area that I'm not as skilled as I'd like to be and have been trying different ideas and approaches. This one lasted a couple videos and I discontinued the idea to try out some other concepts. I've yet to find a good way to achieve accent lighting - most of my attempts come through with lighting that is too hard (or blinding in this case). Thank you for sticking with the video while I explore my own learning experiences! For curiosity, have you given #Krita 2D animation a try?

    Mark 12:28-31
    The Greatest Commandment
    28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
    29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[b] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[c] There is no commandment greater than these.”
    Luke 10:25-37
    The Parable of the Good Samaritan
    25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
    26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
    27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]”
    28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
    29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
    30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
    36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
    37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
    Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
    Luke 18:9-14
    The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
    9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people-robbers, evildoers, adulterers-or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
    13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
    14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
    Luke 16:19-31
    The Rich Man and Lazarus
    19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
    22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
    25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’
    27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
    29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
    30 “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
    31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”
