Such a great guitar!! Playing sounds great too but the variety of great tones possible from this guitar is astonishing. Its all well and good to have 12 different PU combinations (thanks to the 5-way and option to tap either humbucker) but having 12 combinations that ALL sound great is astonishing. I have heard some split humbuckers or certain selections (like position 3 on a strat) that aren't very useable but this guitar, every position and combination is awesome. Can't wait for mine - although I am getting a Charcoal Cherry Burst - which is expected to arrive on Tuesday. It will be a great addition to my 4 other PRS guitars - the 594, 509, Cu24 & HBii. Not only because of the Narrowfield but also the PU's and semi-hollow body. Obviously I have guitars that offer 'humbuckers' with the ability to split (such as the 594 & 509) but none have the 58/15 MT's - just the LT version. Unlike the 509 (which also has a longer scale length), you can't use 'just' the Narrowfield and would love to mod the function of position 3 - going between just the Narrowfield and both Humbuckers but in truth, I don't use the middle PU on my 509 on its own often - not that its a bad PU, just don't find myself needing it often - and I guess I won't need just the NF pick up either - I still have the option to use it with either Pick-Up in HB or Tapped.
Jim . You seem to have a great style of music the way you play guitar . It's never the same thing on N Stuff Music you are a exelent player Thanks 👍 . Lol TroyFrost 😎 CoolRiffs 🤘
Pretty amazing. I hear tones I get from my Gibson Les Paul Std., Gibson SG Std., Fender Strat, Fender Tele, Dean Palomino, and Ibanez AM93. Looks like I will be selling a lot of surplus other guitars to buy one of these, ha.
Very gorgeous tones. I have a couple real cool Godin LGXT and LGX-SA "three voice" guitars, but I never heard a guitar like this one with magnetic pups only cover such a wide range of absolutely gorgeous tones.
I don’t want to buy a PRS until I can afford to buy the one I want, not just any one I can settle for. But they have so many models with unique features and are so nice, I don’t know which to choose! Ah, guitar player problems...🎶
PRS created the “Paul’s guitar” which in 2013 became the PRS 408 which is the core model behind all the Coil Tap models with Narrowfield humbuckers. These were long before JM’s Super Eagle.
Altgator above says the pups coil tap, versus split, so it keeps more of the tone and volume, versus cutting to one coil only. If that is the case. Sounds like it. I have a 2013 Gibson EB5 bass that does the same thing, so it sounds both like a Gibson EB in full HB, and a Fender Jazz when the pups are tapped. Real cool feature.
This is a great guitar very versatile and Jim along with Jack at Peach guitars do the best demos , but too many tones for my ADD ,too complicated , just give me a five way blade and Im happy , but damn nice guitar
Such a tedious demo format with way too much description. Would be far more interesting to watch at less than half the length. True of all of Jim's videos here. Quality playing and audio quality but some editing is certainly called for. Would love to see some tightening as these videos are otherwise top notch.
That guitar tone glistens like it's beautiful finish. A jazzy, sun kissed sound for a fall day concert in the park.
I’d never imagined the cleans to sound SO 3D !
This is the kind of guitar you sell other guitars for. The kind you pass down to your kids. I really want one.
fantastic playing! the toggles tap the coils on this beast, not split. that's why you don't lose any output, and the tones are actually usable.
Good to know, thanks.
I crave this guitar
Awesome guitar great demo
Actually a great review, just to point unlike the others faffing around with this and that. Appreciate it buddy ✌
I love this guitar!! Gotta have it!!!
A perfect demo!! Thank you mate!!! 🍻🍻🍻
Great playing as always, fantastic guitar!

Such a fantastic player, I wish I knew all those chords!!

He and Mark are both excellent players and demo reviewers, no doubt.

Thanks, Jim. Great review. Lovely, lovely & versatile guitar. It just wants to be played! That you did. Cheers 🍻

Smooth like buttah!
My dream guitar.
What's with all the hum with the overdriven tones?!
I wonder if the amp or pedal needs a touch of treble roll off........
Super eagle inspired ?
without a doubt !
i think of it as the baby eagle! i want it
No flies on you marv 🤣

I'm trying to buy one of these... do yinz have one at the store?
Does it fit in a standard electric case or is it larger?
I love the word f hole. Sounds like a swear word but it's not. You F hole, LOL!
Guys this or Pete Thorn Signature Series Suhr ?
Anyone know how they achieve the no volume drop?

Seems like no one wants to rip on this guitar 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I hate jazz from fake jazz guitarists!
Cool story
