    Domo! Recently Nextshark reported that Eater LA had done the ultimate ranking of fast food fried chicken in America rb.gy/2dcigo and the winner was Jollibee’s chicken joy over giants like Popeyes, Church’s and KFC. As two Popeyes supremacists we couldn’t let that assertion go unchallenged 😤 so we tried Jollibee’s ChickenJoy and gave you our thoughts rb.gy/dtb2y5
    After that video went viral we realized that dipping the chicken in gravy was less of a suggestion and more of a requirement according to the 900+ comments we got about it 😅 so today we’re coming back to Jollibee for pt 2 to do it all the right way!!
    Special shoutout to those who’ve donated to support us! It’s not required but we appreciate it so much

      Thank you again for the part 2 of Jollibee... If I may to request.. you can try authentic Filipino cuisine (like Chicken and pork adobo, pansit, kare kare, caldereta, sinigang, bulalo, lechon, lechon kawali, sisig and many more), Filipino breakfast (like the Tapsilog, Longsilog, Hotsilog and many more, Filipino dessert and pastries (like our Pandesal, UBE cake, halo halo, ensyamada, leches flan, bibingka and may more)
      But... Be aware that all Filipino cuisine and breakfast are always match with rice which I know Americans are not really a rice person 😅😅

    I can’t help but really comment on this one.
    I am a Filipino and I’m not lying by saying that this vlog about tasting jollibee is the MOST sincere, genuine and honest for me.
    The vibe is like asking a friend to taste jollibee and here they are eating it and they loved it. Compared to other videos. (I watched almost all of other people trying jollibee)
    So here are other recommendations I just think you’d guys love and I think it is accessible to where you are.
    1. Lumpiang shanghai 💯 dipped with sweet chili sauce or just chili sauce.
    2. Pork Sisig
    3. Pork belly
    4. Chicken/Pork Adobo
    5. Pork Sinigang
    6. Ube Ice Cream or Purple Yam ice cream
    7. Halo-Halo
    if you guys are up for exotic food here are some
    isaw - chicken intestines
    balut - duck embryos
    dinuguan - pig’s blood stew

    The actual target market of Jollibee is kids because, in the Philippines, we always ask our kids where they would want to eat. That is why the majority of the menu is sweet, especially the spaghetti. What I would do is always ask for hot sauce or barbeque sauce just to make the food have a little kick. The fries on their own are bland but drowning them in gravy makes the difference.

    • @michaeladriatico1488
      @michaeladriatico1488 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Whenever i feel sad due to stress or other sad things, and just got out of work early in the morning, i go to a Jollibee drive thru order fried chicken with spaghetti and fries, drive to a spot where you spend most of your childhood and eat there. Locally, the palabok sauce is made of "achuete" seeds, which acts as a natural food color, with an almost nonexistent taste. It is the mixture of meat, dry salted fish, shrimp, and crushed crunchy pork that gives the sauce the flavor. I used to make it with my mom, then we sell it outside our house. One of the hundreds of Filipino comfort food. You eat this, and you don't just get the taste, you also feel at home.

    they are sincere with the reaction so dont be mad if they are not jumping out of "JOY" when they eat Jollibee. Our Filipino taste is so much different than foreign countries because we love foods with a little bit of sweetness on it which for foreigners is a bit too sweet. We are lucky that Jollibee is being recognized on foreign countries. maybe this is the start of something like "this taste like a Filipino dish" instead of saying "this taste like an italian dish". This is such a good video--it celebrates an under appreciated cuisine. I grew up in the 70s with Koreans and folks from the Philippines. At the time the food from these two countries was almost unknown. And yet it is some of the most savory and satisfying food on the planet. Go figure. Anyway, Jollibee chicken tops Popeyes by a slim margin. And I still prefer KFC to Church's--but not by much. And then there is the other KFC, Korean Fried Chicken (try it with kimchi).

    Insane price for that burger, I know I used to live in Phoenix till I move here in the Philippines. Also. Here we don't have the Aloha burger, instead we have the "Yumburger" which is comparable but a complete meal with fries and soda cost me only $3.00 due to the $vs. Pedo exchange rate of 57 to $1 so my dollar goes a long way here in beating inflationary prices. A chicken sandwich complete meal cost me only $4.00. Insanely affordable 👌 😍 Good day peace out.

    PALABOK has a garlic shrimp sauce. to enjoy it, put calamansi and mix it before eating. but in the US there is no calamansi so just use lime or lemon.

    FYI chicken sandwich isnt really on the menu originally, but since Americans liked the chicken sandwich from different store chains that they made a new addition. Like the Original Menu didn't have it, i dunno 5-7 years ago?

    In the Ph, we put Calamansi instead of lemon. for me they still taste different so i hope they have calamansi instead for the palabok and the calamansi juice.

    • @ShoonandMimi
      @ShoonandMimi  ปีที่แล้ว

      No calamansi in the US 🥲 this reminds me of the difference between lemon and yuzu! Slightly different but you can't really put your finger on how exactly it's diff

    A children's party here in the Philippines would always have spaghetti. It's almost a requirement. That is why it is sweet, and that is also why Jollibee has it on the menu.
    The sweet spaghetti is now known to be the Filipino-style spaghetti.

    i think they got pickled jalapenos for the chicken sandwhich if u ask for it, dif sauce too. the sauce used on most jollibee burgers is a sweet dill pickle aioli (w garlic and onion powder i think idk)
    also $8 is mad steep. its only $2 in the PH ($4 for the champ version but even then its still a lot)

    1. The sauce in the burger is the so called secret sauce and i'm not kidding. Even the Gravy is a secret and its even so good that the crew would try to sneak the uncooked powder package and bring it home coz it also goes well over plain hot white rice.
    2. Palabok is mixed with Calamansi and not lemon here in the Philippines. Lemon is just the substitute. I guess it gives it a different flavor.
