Wow thanks for the background on Jollibee! We tried the pineapple bbq sauce and it was delicious. Maybe we will go to the Philippines to try Jollibee there.
Yep. Last I was in Manila, 1982, a buddy in the Navy at Subic took me to Jollibee in Manila. It was really good. The spice profile reminded me of Spanish but not quite and a bit Chinese, but again not quite. The fried chicken was outstanding and coming from a Southerner that's high praise indeed. Loved it. Im sure someone has said this, but jollibee isnt an american fast food franchise. Its fillipino. Americans do not usually eat spaghaetti with fried chicken, nor put hot dogs in spaghetti lol. I think the sauce they use is a type of "banana ketchup" that is also pretty difficult to find outside of international speciality grocers.
You're absolutely right! Jollibee was recommend to us by a few people who watched our recent videos. Jollibee is a Filipino fast food franchise and their menu definitely has some unique twists compared to typical American fast food.
you are so ignorant of American culture. You can see in American TV shows how their spaghetti can have hotdogs. You also need to be informed, Spaghetti Sauces in Philippines are all from American companies. Clearly you are trying to make the Filipino Spaghetti sound exotic. I love Filipino Spaghetti and Jollibee. But Please Stop Trying too hard to make it exotic. No one uses Banana Ketchup to cook spaghetti since 1987, except for the poorest of the poor, who were told it cheaper than just buying Del Monte, Hunts or Heinz tomato spaghetti sauce. Banana Ketchup for Jollibee, 😂😂😂😂😂. They dont even use banana ketchup on their burgers. Be informed BANANAS are mega expensive now.
It's so funny when people tell other people how to eat something their way, as if that is the only way. Here is a top tip, this is America, you two eat the food you get the way you want to eat it, and if someone does not like it, you tell them to piss off. Now of course people can say how they do it, but that is not the only way to do it, just do what you want. You are not in trouble for doing something what someone else says is the wrong way, there is no wrong way, you do it your way and that is how we do it here.
I never do, I eat my mashed potatoes and gravy with a lot of pepper on them, and I do not dip my chicken it it, because that is how I like to do it. It's not the right or wrong way, it's my way.
Technically any meat that has been minced/ground then formed into a patty cooked and put on bread is a burger. That is why most Americans cringe when people call a chicken sandwich a burger. When it is one piece of chicken.
I don't know who's been telling you it's a cardinal sin to dip chicken in mashed and/or gravy, but it's perfectly acceptable to do. I'm almost 50 years old, and I used to dip my KFC chicken in their gravy 40 some odd years ago. I have to say, I've been watching Doctor Who (and other British shows) since about 1980 or so - so I'm used to people saying "chicken burger" or other such things. I don't understand why other Americans get so triggered over it. In any event, Jollibee is quite good for fast food chicken etc. I think their spicy chicken is really good, and their peach mango pie is top tier stuff. They also have a few specifically Pilipino dishes that are really good for fast food.
I live in Rhode Island and have not seen any of these places that you go to near near me. Maybe closer to Providence I may find some of these fast food places. All the chicken sandwiches (who cares if you call it a burger ) look so delicious! I love that Nicola went in by herself, and everything was a surprise that was fun! I think it would be interesting for you to go to popular or recommended restaurants and try specialties. Might be more pricey, though. Thank you for all the entertainment and laughs!
@@thebritstry I was thinking asking locals where they like to eat and what their specialties are? That’s what my husband and I do and is great! What are your favorite foods? I’ve watched so many people eat and enjoy Jollibee’s, I am not one of them. For me the spaghetti is too sweet and what I thought was carrots are actually cut up hotdogs. I’ll try the chicken again someday without dipping it in gravy. They gave me mashed potatoes in error, it should be a container of gravy for the chicken. Enjoy 😊
Yes it the Spaghetti was sweet, but we thought it was also tasty. The Sausages were an odd addition…The chicken was really good. It looks like we are destined to only get mash mixed with gravy for the chicken dip!😂🤣
Many Asian countries like their tomato sauces quite sweet to be fair. The Philippines especially, I mean Jollibee became famous for their spaghetti joy thingy and it's famously sweet with the hot dogs in it. I don't mind the sweetness of it, but I can certainly understand people who don't like it. The chicken from there though, is top tier. I don't normally dip my fried chicken in anything, but Jollibee gravy is one of the things I do dip it in. The spicy chicken in that gravy is quite yummy.
the spaghetti is not sweet. But you just got brainwashed by the marketing of the product. Spaghetti is just a Western Food and Western Recipe. They are not crazy enough to sell sweet spaghetti to an American market. Even Filipinos wont put sugar on pasta.
@@eduardochavacano The spaghetti is sweet, they use a sweet banana ketchup to make it or in some places condensed milk is also added. It may not be "overly" sweet but it tastes much sweeter than "western" style pasta sauce. You can certainly tell the difference.

Good fried chicken always has a crisp outer coating with moist meat but chicken thighs are notoriously greasy. The best piece is the breast if you can get it without being dry. The first place that I know of that uses pineapple in their barbecue sauce was Famous Dave’s but a lot of places do that now. It sounds like you’re in SoCal so I don’t know if there are any Famous Dave’s down there or not. My wife loves their Hellfire pickles there and always ask for extras.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate your love for fried chicken and the insight about pineapple barbecue sauce. we'll definitely keep an eye out for Famous Dave's!
I always dip my fried chicken into my mashed potatoes and gravy! It’s yummier that way and since it all goes to the same place I’m just saving my stomach an extra step 😂
OMG how do these restaurants keep messing up your order?? The fried chicken is supposed to come with a side of gravy, not gravy and mash. Sigh.. how frustrating as a viewer, that these restaurants are letting us down. Anyway, I love their spaghetti and chicken. The pineapple juice and pineapple mango pie are also best sellers! Great video as always!
If you are ever in an area with a Dairy Queen you should stop there to eat. Highlight Chicken strip basket (comes with fries, a drink, and a piece of toast)
If you're ever in the New York City area, you should try out Bob White's, which makes a really good chicken sandwich as well as chicken tenders, and a chain known as Sweet Chick which also makes some great chicken sandwiches. And if you can get on the waiting list for Pecking House, that would probably be worth a try as well. I don't live in the city so I couldn't really try Pecking House since you need to get on a waiting list for it, but everyone I know that has tried their chicken has said how amazing it is. :)
We call it a chicken burger on the UK, we were not aware until we said chicken burger in one of our videos that you don’t call them chicken burgers here in the US.
Hey, it's all good, I'm a Messy-Can from the south of Texas here, and I'm going to start calling them Chicken Burgers. You know us Texans and the Britts almost have the same accent..... except we say Yee Haw a little bit more than Yaw... 😀
Don’t know how I missed this and not sure if you have been to Tampa Florida and greater Tampa bay Florida area but there around 4 to 5 thousand restaurants and well many will blow your mind.
@@thebritstry so many I will send you a video but bar taco is one it’s unreal probably a 1000 new this past year. There is one guy that goes around trying different restaurants in the greater Tampa Area which covers 5 cities
Try In-N-Out!!! Animal style frys! Their burgers, cheese burgers, their grilled cheese! Ask for extra spread (their special house sause) your going to want to put it on everything, or just drink it plain lol
you're supposed to dip it in the gravy, not the mashed potato. the chickenjoy comes with its own gravy sauce. don't ask for the gravy because it comes with the combo. the cashier must have been confused because you requested one since it naturally comes in the meal
I’m a huge fan of Jollibees. Their chicken is so much better than KFC. The fried mango and peach pie is so delicious! The Filipinos make some delicious fried chicken.
Technically any meat that has been minced/ground then formed into a patty cooked and put on bread is a burger. That is why most Americans cringe when they call a chicken sandwich a burger.
I don't live anywhere near a Jollibee's. The closest ones to me are about 5 hours away in Chicago. There aren't very many in the US. Less than a hundred actually. By comparison there are over 13,000 McDonald's, over 7,000 Taco Bells & Burger Kings, almost 6,000 Wendys, over 4,000 Dairy Queens, almost 4,000 KFCs, and over 3,000 Arby's and Chick-fil-As. If I ever find myself near one I definitely want to try it. Purple is my favorite color so I'd have to try that Ube Pie though the Peach Mango sounds better. Have you guys tried Arby's yet? They have the meats. LOL
Lol! 'They have the meats' we have heard that advert.... We will give Arby's a try in the future. It's also amazing the amount of locations of some of these restaurants have. It's always fun to try new food places, especially when they offer unique items like the Ube Pie or Peach Mango! Hopefully, you get the chance to visit a Jollibee's soon.
A person can eat every how they choose.. i myself when i have chicken an mash potatoes an gravy i prefer taking a spoon an putting it on chicken an take that bite together but thats just me. There is no proper way it's just what makes you happy is good.

We thought we were getting some but we ended up with mash and gravy instead! Which was nice.. Guess we have to go back again and try some other things, right!😉😉 What else would you recommend?
We completely missed the fruit pies! we asked the person at the register to recommend the best items. We will definitely go back to try those fruit pies!
Thanks for sharing.. We thought we had ordered the gravy on it's own. We only realized we received Mash and Gravy, once we returned to the car. It was good though! next time we will make sure before we leave.
It was also new to us! It was recommended to us by someone you watched a video! and is worth searching out if there is one local to you! We have also been told they do great fruit dessert pies, which we want to go back and try!
It is a fast food place originally from the Philippines. They will only go where there is a large enough Filipino immigrant population. There is one south of Seattle where I live and soon one will be in Seattle. California has the most locations.
The chicken is greasy. Suggestions ….. Five Guys, also compare some of the subs or hoagie ( that what we call them in my neck of the woods) shops. Subway’s, Jimmy John’s, Firehouse subs etc.
@@katyas-momI’m originally from Philly we call our subs hoagies it is the same type of sandwich. With a hoagie the roll is opened but not cut in two pieces. The meat and toppings are the same as a sub.

It's baffling how California keeps messing either the food or the order and I noticed you've mentioned that it might be the accent and I suppose that could be. I live in New York City (which is the east coast) so we're used to accents; there's even an area in downtown Manhattan where a lot of British people live. I've never been to California but I wonder if they're just not used to British accents. Our Jollibee here in NYC always include a tub of gravy for dipping even without asking regardless if they give you the mashed potatoes since the gravy is for the chicken, so I wonder if they thought you meant you didn't want the side of gravy. Also, don't let anyone discourage you when you eat something differently than how it's meant to be eaten; if a certain food combo tastes good to you, even if it's not the intended way of eating it, it is the correct way FOR YOU so keep eating it that way. I eat things "incorrectly" all the time but it tastes good and makes me happy so I keep doing it.
We appreciate you sharing your insight! We will definitely give Jollibee another try as the chicken is delicious, and we really want to try the gravy on it's own. We have also heard since they do Amazing fruit pies which is also on the list! And you're absolutely right, we should never let anyone discourage us from enjoying food our own way. Cheers to eating things "incorrectly" and being happy! Thanks for watching

Jollibees is really big in the Philippines and throughout Asia ! I did not know they actually had one in the U.S. Wish they had them in Texas !!
There are 2 Jolly bees here in Houston!
Thanks for the recommendations! we'll definitely keep these places in mind next time We are in NYC.
You should try Jollibee in the UK. There are branches in Earls Court - Leicester Square - Reading - Liverpool - Leicester, and more..
Thanks for the info and the idea! Maybe when we visit the UK in the future we could try and see if there is a difference.
Chicken Burger..... Chicken Burger.... don't give in to our Foo Foo American labels...... ( Chicken Sandwich .... Pa-leeeeeze ) 😅
😂🤣
Yeah we call it a sandwich. Only because a chicken burger would be grated chicken and then made into a patty. Now I want to try it.
Use your names that you're used to. Ignore the fussy Americans who've never left their neighborhood.
Thank you for correcting your self its. Chicken sandwich the only thing that is a burger is ground beef
We have only just learned this! Thanks for watching!
❤
Don’t know how I missed this and not sure if you have been to Tampa Florida and greater Tampa bay Florida area but there around 4 to 5 thousand restaurants and well many will blow your mind.
We haven’t been yet! Where would you recommend? Thanks for watching
@@thebritstry so many I will send you a video but bar taco is one it’s unreal probably a 1000 new this past year. There is one guy that goes around trying different restaurants in the greater Tampa Area which covers 5 cities
If you guys want some excellent BBQ and are ever anywhere near Ventura/Oxnard, CA area Buster’s BBQ & Grill is awesome!!! Get the TRI-TIP.
Thanks for the tip! That is not to far away. we will add it to the list
the mashed potato & gravey with fried chicken is a popular thing at Popeyes chicken
try birria tacos ! also try carrne asada burritos and tacos
They sound amazing ! can you suggest where sound we try these from?
@@thebritstry you can probably find some burritos on yelp just type in burrito
Easy street burgers in Cali, hope to see you guys visit the south soon
We are working on getting to the south, Watch this space, But where do we visit first? We will check out easy street burgers, thanks for the tip
it was the mango peach pies and pineapple drink for me. how often do you see that combo?
We definitely need to go back and try the fruit pies! me missed them the first time.
If you have one near you, y'all should try 5 Guys burgers! Their french fries are my favorite and their bacon cheeseburgers are soooo good!
We will get there soon! Thanks for the advice...
Try In-N-Out!!! Animal style frys! Their burgers, cheese burgers, their grilled cheese! Ask for extra spread (their special house sause) your going to want to put it on everything, or just drink it plain lol
😉we may or may not have tried this and there may be a video shortly, but we couldn't tell you because its a 'Secret!
All you ever need with fried chicken is hot sauce
We didn't try the hot sauce! next time we will for sure.
Dip the chicken in the gravy. And try the Palabok next time. Add the citrus and mix it well then eat it.
Thanks for the suggestion! Mixing the citrus sounds like a delicious twist. I can't wait to try it!
you're supposed to dip it in the gravy, not the mashed potato. the chickenjoy comes with its own gravy sauce. don't ask for the gravy because it comes with the combo. the cashier must have been confused because you requested one since it naturally comes in the meal
Thanks for the tips! We didn't get any gravy but we did ask for it.
The best items ate the pineapple drink and the peach mango pie!!
Thanks for sharing! we missed those , we will have to head back to give them a try!
I’m a huge fan of Jollibees. Their chicken is so much better than KFC. The fried mango and peach pie is so delicious! The Filipinos make some delicious fried chicken.
The chicken was delicious! but we missed the fruit pies!!!! looks like we will have to go back again😉 Thanks for watching
Not giving you the gravy is CRAZY!!! In Canada it automatically comes with the meal. Jollibee in Canada is top tier 👌
The chicken was good!!! Maybe the accent did it!😀
LOVE JOLLIBEE'S DO SOME MORE FILIPINO FOOD
Salamat PO❤❤❤❤❤
Salamat sa panonood! at paglalaan ng oras para magkomento
Correct. Fish and chicken are sandwiches. Beef is hamburger.
Technically any meat that has been minced/ground then formed into a patty cooked and put on bread is a burger. That is why most Americans cringe when they call a chicken sandwich a burger.
Thanks!
Try filipino dishes next time, such as;
Sinigang, Adobo, Menudo, Caldereta, Imbutido, Morckon, Paella, Sisig, Lechon, Lumpia, Chopsuey, pakbet, Kare-kare, Ginisang Munggo, Potchero/ Bulalo, Dinuguan, Afritada, Torta/ Okoy, Laing/ Ginataang gulay.
We really want too! Thanks for the detailed suggestions
Now you guys have got to go back to New Orleans and go to Willie Mae’s! Best fried chicken you’ll ever have in life. They’re notorious for it
Thanks for the suggestion! next time we will.
In the Philippines a chilidrens party is never wthout fried chicken and sweet spaghetti. And rice. Jollibee s number 1 target customer are kids.
Thanks for the information, the chicken was very good! guess we are young at heart!
Never heard of this chain until now.
Its a fillipino chain, not american. Theyre around but not common.
The chicken was good! Let us know if you could recommend any other places we should try.
Bro takes beavo sized bites 😭
LOL!!
you should try the pie next time and the pineapple quencher. 😊
Thanks for the suggestion! we will definitely give the pineapple pie try next time.
I prefer lumpy mashed potatoes. I like it that way.
If we had lumpy mash it reminds us of bad school lunches!
@@thebritstry I think lumpy mash taste like real food. It’s like a baked potato/mashed. Best of both.
A person can eat every how they choose.. i myself when i have chicken an mash potatoes an gravy i prefer taking a spoon an putting it on chicken an take that bite together but thats just me. There is no proper way it's just what makes you happy is good.
That's so true! It's all about enjoying your meal the way that makes you happy.
For fast food, Jollibee is a really good choice.
We liked it and want to go back to try some of the other items, Is there any items you would recommend?
@@thebritstry I live in Hawaii and it’s popular here. I just like their spicy fried chicken. Keep it simple. Spicy fried chicken thighs for days and it’s so good. Best part of any bird and they do it right.
Thighs are certainly the best part! but any fried chicken seems good!
4:17 I dont know who told you it was a sin to dip your chicken in the mash & gravy ...it's just crazy NOT to!
Thanks for understanding!😉
My son’s girlfriend is filipino and we tried their homemade spaghetti, but as my husband is 1/2 Italian it was very strange and sweet. We like the chicken, but not a fan of the spaghetti.
Thanks for sharing ! It's always interesting to try different variations of dishes from different cultures! Everyone has their own unique taste preferences.
U have to deep the chicken in the gravy not in mash potato gravy u have to ask extra gravy in jollybee staff
Thanks for letting us know. 😀
You should have ordered the orange chicken, it's what they're famous for as well.
We didn’t know…We have now been asking in our community posts what to get because we ask the people that work there. But you all have better suggestions. 🤗
@@thebritstry part two!🩵
never heard of Jollibee being famous for orange chicken
@@doggo6240 chicken sandwiches, sweet spaghetti and orange chicken are their signature dishes. Oh and the mango pies!
@@sw7833 adobo rice
The chicken should always come with gravy alone. New sub here. A big MISS was the peach mango pie. If ever you decide to come back order the pie.
Hey, thanks for subscribing! I totally agree, the chicken is delicious! We will make sure to try that mango pie next time.
You should try FIVE GUYS they have the best cajun fries
Thanks for the tip! we will check them out!
You have not tried Jollibee if you have not tried the pineapple quencher and peach mango pie. Their aloha burger is my regular order. But I guess it's seasonal.
Thanks for sharing! We definitely want to go back because as we didn't know about the fruit pies! We will also check out the aloha burger
Dip your fries in gravy. Try peach mango pie, adobo rice, aloha burger and try spicy chicken. 👍👍👍
Challenge accepted! we will have to go back again as we missed those options.
You should ask for gravy they have gravy without the mashed
Thanks for sharing! we thought we had asked for just gravy but there was some confusion! The mash and gravy was good but next time we will make sure we get the gravy separately.
What was the yellow sauce?
It was there version of a mustard! not to spicy or not to much of a kick!
why there's no separate gravy?
We thought we were getting some but we ended up with mash and gravy instead! Which was nice.. Guess we have to go back again and try some other things, right!😉😉 What else would you recommend?
I can't believe u didn't get one of their famous fruit pies like the peach mango pie or the ube flavor pie. Why no milkshake 😂😍💜💛🙏
We completely missed the fruit pies! we asked the person at the register to recommend the best items. We will definitely go back to try those fruit pies!
Just ask for gravy without the mashed potato hahahha
Thanks for sharing.. We thought we had ordered the gravy on it's own. We only realized we received Mash and Gravy, once we returned to the car. It was good though! next time we will make sure before we leave.
You guys gotta try White Castle CheeseBurgers(Belly Bombers) Nathan's Hot Dogs Best Fast Food French Fries and Auntie Anne's Pretzels
Thanks for the suggestion! We'll definitely add those to the list of must-try fast food items.
@@thebritstry White Castle Cheeseburgers are small gotta order more then 1 per person but they are iconic
I always dip my chicken into my mashed and gravy. Lots of people do that
It was good!!Thanks for watching
The sauce is banana ketchup
Jollibee was delicious! we would love to go back and try more items, what else would you recommend?
This American has never heard of this place. lol.
The chicken was delicious
Can y'all try Churche''s Fish sandwich?
Thanks for the suggestion! We will try and find a local Churches and Try the fish sandwich!
Thanks again
A n w it's a drive in, like on Happy days, u drive up press the call button and place your order, they bring to your 🚗
Thanks for the suggestion! we will check this out
The chicken is greasy.
Suggestions …..
Five Guys, also compare some of the subs or hoagie ( that what we call them in my neck of the woods) shops. Subway’s, Jimmy John’s, Firehouse subs etc.
Five Guys is on the list!! We will definitely add subs to the list! Thanks for the suggestions!🤗
Hoagie are not subs. Different sandwiches.
@@katyas-momI’m originally from Philly we call our subs hoagies it is the same type of sandwich. With a hoagie the roll is opened but not cut in two pieces. The meat and toppings are the same as a sub.
Yeah they cheated yall it’s supposed to be the chicken and gravy not the potatoes the person behind the counter knows better lol
We definitely go back again to retry, is there anything you think we should also try?
@@thebritstry there adobo rice and what alot of people do is take piece of thigh chicken with the skin put some of the rice in the skin and dump it in the gravy and there peach mango pies is 🔥
My mouth is watering! Thanks for the suggestion, we will check it out!
Jollibees is a family restaurant, not a chicken joint.
Funny video.👍
Thanks for watching😆
Try the fried chicken with just the gravy, no mash.
Thanks for the advice! that's what we thought we were getting but next time we will get the gravy on it's own... The mash and gravy was good though. Is there anything else we missed?
Peach mango pie, and burger steak with rice
I dip chicken tenders in mashed with gravy. Chicken on the bone is too messy to dip.😊
Thats a good idea! chicken tenders as your own edible spoons?
@@thebritstry yes! I consider it more environmentally friendly 😁 no plastic sporks needed
😂 That might be our new slogan! for dipping
My bad. Fish sandwich from Bojangles?
Thanks for watching! We will try and find a Bojangles in the future.
Cool thanks 👍. Oh! and the buffalo sauce Mac n cheese
Dip the chicken in the gravy please not in mashed potato 😂 you are so funny ... ❤❤❤Try the authentic Filipino food nextym please like lechon kawali...crispy PATA ...pancit....lumpia and many more ....
We would love to try authentic Filipino food , thanks for the recommendations. We will try an find a local place soon!
There are no real rules of eating American food items, anyway that makes it tasty for you is all that matters.
Absolutely! Food is all about personal taste and enjoyment. As long as it tastes good to you, that's what matters the most.
how do you make spaghetti as fast food? you would have to have the noodles pre cooked yeah? seems wrong on all levels to me
It was interesting! the chicken there was really good! Thanks for watching
A Fried Chicken Patty on a Burger Bun is NOT a Burger ! It's just a Chicken Sandwich !!!
you didnt eat the palabok or the peach mango pie
No, we missed them! but we will definitely head back in the future to give them a try. Thanks for watching
@@thebritstry We had one open in my town and it seemed like EVERY Filipino on the East coast showed up the first month. Still stays pretty busy to this day. Definitely a big part of Filipino-American culture. They do a lot of charity work in the Philippines so they are about as popular as Manny Pacquiao out there. I prefer Popeyes chicken personally but the service is hands down better at Jollibee. At least here in Virginia beach anyway.
Correction…. Gave you mashed potatoes in error
It seems like even when we ask for the gravy they still add the mash!😂
