I'm not surprised this is amazing, the whole stardust speedway* past theme was made in the sega genesis soundchips with the little help of sega cd hardware as well This sure would've made a hit in x32 better tho
This is so damn amazing and accurate. I love your decisive use of the Dual PCM for sounds that are hardest for the YM2612 to produce. And your reproduction of those PLOK samples using just FM synthesis is really well done. You’re amazing at replicating those sounds. While I know it’s not impossible, but I would imagine it’s not something easy to do on the Genesis sound chip.
OMG, you've actually outdone John Tay's cover when it comes to accuracy. And that rock guitar at the end HOLY SH*T. is that literally FM? 🤯 seriously, why is deflemask still not dead yet? Furnace tracker is soooo gooood!
like the other guy said, john doesn't transcribe or cover anything, he rearranges the songs, that means they won't be much accurate at all and even tho I agree that furnace is better than deflemask the song being good has nothing to do with the tracker LOL props to the author
Everything except the guitar was impressive. The guitar nearly resembles a square wave, which isn't hard to replicate. Also, the guitar is way too quiet here
Nice Sega Genesis Fractal cover of the song, and it sounds super close and faithful and very near identical/perfectly completely identical to the original song!😄🤩😎👌
i'm not sure i follow. this cover wasn't made in Deflemask but instead in Furnace tracker. and honestly, furnace tracker is probably the best Open Source tracker on the entire internet. Defle was good, until it changed to paid software. 🤢🤮
Fun fact: a Sega Genesis / Megadrive version was planned, but was sadly cancelled
They make a joke about that in the reboot comic.
This is actually really convincing, if Tim composed to for Plok! on the Genesis it would probably sound pretty close to this.
Especially since there's no PSG, just like in Time Trax
@@Pr0jectFM
I was thinking this, hah. Good catch.
True.
to my knowledge, time trax was the only time he got to use the YM2612
@@notbugberry202
And it's a shame, because as far as sound chips go, the Genesis probably suited the Follin brothers style the best.
THAT'S SO COOL BRUH, THE WAY YOU GOT THE PANNING EFFECT TO WORK LIKE IN THE ORIGINAL DESPITE THE GENESIS ONLY BEING ABLE TO DO ONLY LEFT OR RIGHT.
Very accurate!
Thank you!

Really takes FM to its limits, this could easily pass for the super nintendo version. Well done man.
interesting way of getting smoother stereo, good job!
I'm impressed by the amount of accuracy in this cover.
This is deffinitely what Tim would actually do.
THIS FM PERCUSSION REALLY GOT ME! I thought it would be in PCM!

i'm sure if Tim were to work with the YM2612 to do this song... I beileve he won't use the PCM for the pads... But your remix is AMAZING!!!
Damn. Even with the Fractal Dual PCM this is still impressive. Hats off man... this is really good.

The feature of having 2 variable pitch pcm channels, although having an output sample rate of 13khz, can be very helpful
I don't think John intends to make an accurate arrangement, but you have a point.

@@theblenderfiddler4434could you make a Genesis version of Akrillic? Pls 🤔

wow, incredibly accurate
I love genesis sounds, and this cover is very good

Too good to be real!!!
The remix is incredible, but the curious thing is that certain sound channels have the same sound as the original SNES track
Very Nice!
the only thing is different is reverberation and stereo effects (smooth stereo transitions). But I think this is best that Yamaha could do.
Tim estaría orgulloso de ti
Well done!
Oh yeah
Sounds really good. Though I think the bass sounds way louder than the keys, try to change that.

i'm not sure i follow.

@Greenbus me too
I’m getting 80s vibes here. Anybody else?
Is this soundtrack on Spotify???
Can the Sega Genesis double the PCM channel with the CPU?
Yeah
The sampling rate is 13 khz for each channel to cut down on cpu usage though
Is this using Ext.CH3 Mode?
Nah
Bro he used the drums from Time Trax 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Is this Saveged Regime?
OHH, this is second SEGA Genesis cover
Some of it could be stronger or a better synth conversions
