In Canada the rx9 is $2600 and the lift x is $1900, so a 700$ difference. When you factor in common upgrades and accessory purchases that most Matthew’s guys will make, you’re looking at: +$150 off the bat to upgrade the grip. +$200 for new strings (fewer people have been making this upgrade with their new strings but still very common) + $$170 for a stabilizer ( $120 for a Hoyt vs 290 for a bridge lock) +$500 for a “Matthews” sight ($1000 for the UV vs $500 for SH) +$80 for a quiver… … the list goes on but the point is that not only is the price of a setup comparable, depending on your purchases the cost of a Matthew’s ECLIpSES the rx9. Both are great bows, neither of them are a deal and everybody walking into the bow shop to buy one understands this so let’s stop pretending the RX9 is any less of a gouge than other brands.
The funny thing is that I can accessorize an RX9 with all Hoyt stuff and it comes in at the same price as a fully accessorized Matthews so does Hoyt overprice bows or does Matthews overprice accessories?
Great review. Question: Why in this case does price weigh so heavy. Are there better stock bows for the price? Like vehicles, sure, there are faster cars than a corvette, cheaper cars than a corvette, more economical cars than a corvette, but if it was about price you wouldn't be shopping for a corvette. If there is something wrong with that bow then great, bring that to light and rip it to shreds. But if it's a good product, just expensive...... to each their own.
Every body likes to slam the RX bows it makes them feel better about upping the other brand the funny thing is that Hoyt makes aluminum bows to that cost the same price as the other ones and within A couple ounces of the other brands and after accessorizing come in cheaper
I’ve seen so many people hit the RX series on price. However, how much heat does Mathew’s get for charging 300 dollars for stabilizer or 700 dollars for an integrated sight?
It’s hard to ding them on accessories when you have the option to buy their bow and put other accessories on it. Using their accessories is not a requirement just because you bought the bow.
Was there any valley on the RX9? I shot an RX8 Ultra last weekend and the valley was great. I'm actually getting rid of a Mathews due to the lack of valley.

As far as carbons go, Hoyt has the market in my opinion. In the future I may make a score sheet for carbon bows and a separate one for aluminums.

By that logic purchasing a carbon bow is not a requirement so hard to ding them on price when you can voluntarily choose to buy the aluminum offering.

I like the valley on the rx-9. However I don’t care for a bow that has a ton of valley because in general it makes it much harder to letdown smoothly.
My bowtech ss34 shoots 291 @ 28/70 performance mode with a 390 grain arrow
I don’t think any bow is worth 2000 dollars bare bow
No is not the fastest

There’s no chance that it comes up to the same price. A new Mathews is 1350 and a new rx9 is 2050. Accessories are almost identical in price.
@ V bar mount Hoyt 99 Matthews 199 10 inch stabilizers Hoyt 109 Matthews 249 how are they the same The only thing that’s the same as the quivers 199
The difference u don’t have to get the Mathew’s accessories but if u want the Hoyt u will have to pay the 2000+
$150 more in accessories still doesn’t add up to a $700 difference in bow price.
