  • Another year in biblical archaeology is behind us-and a big year it was, particularly in discoveries and research relating to kings David and Solomon.
On today's podcast, host Brent Nagtegaal joins Armstrong Institute archaeologist Christopher Eames to discuss our list of top ten discoveries.

I love Biblical History. I could watch non-believer archaeologists prove themselves wrong but I enjoy watching you guys as believers as well. It's nice not having someone try to disprove what is in front of their face. Keep up the great work guys.

Your comment is from my heart of hearts. I enjoy studying with others who I know are not saved. The get angry when they see no matter what they say, it can not disprove creation. I am glad to see we are working together but apart. Praise God, King of Kings 🙏⚔️⚔️🙏

Someone should put together a long list of how many times scholars have pronounced Bible history wrong and then been corrected by archaeology. That list should be figuratively nailed to the doors of every university.

Yeah, scientists exist to be proven wrong.
Continental Drift was ridiculed up until paleo-magnatism proved that Africa and South America DID zipper apart. Galileo did go to prison because he observed orbiting bodies around Jupiter. Eienstien proved Newton's theory wrong...
But we must trust the science nowadays as if an orthodoxy is correct. Just say that to a real scientist.
Science is nothing more than proving the experts incorrect. Thus it had been and ever it shall be.
      Have a nice day :)
Edit: the correct will punish you because you have proven them wrong...even unto death. Copernicus never wanted Galileo's fate so he remained silent

What puzzles me is that this is presented as Biblically related, buy you honor the atheists by expressing everything in "BCE" instead of "BC." The whole idea of "Common Era" nomenclature was developed because atheists didn't want to recognize that Christ was the basis for the "Common Era."

    Hi,
During chat i made a mistake of saying 10,000 for 1,000 BC in regard to 10th century.
I was focused on an idea i had on Gobekli Tepe n other Tepes Not being 12,000 years old.
I think they are during Abraham Times. These are Tepes. Meaning Hills/ Mounds. I can't believe Tepes are 12,000 years old with No Erosion exposing them earlier. In other words, they should be Deeper underground if 12,000 years old. Since they were still buried And are Mounds, i think they are younger.
I say during Abraham Times because his family and Abraham were from this area - Urfa; Not southern Mesopotamia Ur. Plus, God told Abraham n family to go to Canaan. They stopped at Haran. Nearby Urfa. Urfa and Haran are near Tepes.
I read a Rabbinic scripture saying Terah, Abraham's father, had him look after Idol making/selling shop. Abraham destroyed the Idols. Terah was upset. Terah took him to be punished by Nimrod. God helped Abraham escape punishment. Terah repented after seeing God favored Abraham. Tepes seem to have some type of Idol Worship.
Anyway, Archeologists want to say Tepe people were Hunter Gatherers but there are Several Well Organized Large Tepes. They weren't Hunter Gatherers. Artifacts are showing they settled there. Large limestone vessels for foods; weaving; Mortars and Pestals; flints all over; bead making areas and More.
I think Terah was making n selling Idols to these Tepes People.
    See Joshua 24:2
    Terah's family were making idols.
I'm an amateur follower of history. Hope you can learn more about this.
Archeologists aren't looking for Biblical truth. Thanks 🙏🏻

The black box the jews put on their foreheads "Totafot", but they left the original word for no reason they changed it to "Tefillin", many jews asking why we left the original word ! in the Torah they're called Totafot.
So why do we call them Tefilin ? because according to many jewish scholars Totafot derives from the Arabic Tafa or to "go around encircle" طواف.,

In short, the Bible's authenticity can be proven by finding items in the dirt in the exact place that the Bible describes and in the same time period dating. It's simple as that. David and Solomon are not just a great "story" they were real people and their kingdoms were found exactly where the Bible states they were located during the days of their happenings. You can't find better proof than what the dirt has preserved 💁🏼‍♀️ I have more just for fun, .y husbands uncle used to help blast to make large thoroughfare highways in the Appalachian mountains back in the early 60's and was amazed to come across seashells and other such sea life forms which proved the Bible account of the worldwide flood of Noah to him. Odd how nothing is ever spoken of these kinds of findings that happen sporadically throughout the world, but they do ☝🏼😉

@@StephFrandsen Thank you for the clarification: it is exactly what I was afraid of. Biblical has many religious connotations, whereas archaeology sounds like a science. Historians may be more happy with terms like "Palestinian", "Judean", "Hebrew" than Biblical. Whereas religious people wouldn't really need justification of their beliefs by scientific means. It just sounds as such a weird term for an European archaeologist, but we probably don't have all that religious background that Americans may have the back up such a concept.

      Using term Levant in an archaeological context means that you refer to a wider region of eastern shores of Mediterranean including for example modern Lebanon as well- region that in Eb and mb had all common practices and was in sphere of Egyptian influence or control ; referring to Israel in archeology in biblical times will mean only speaking about northern kingdom , reflecting to Israel in general means Jewish state after 1948 . So usually scholars use levant for ancient history as part of the region called near east ;
many use Palestine for biblical archaeology because of many issues- one being that they speak about both Israel and West Bank territory, also when talking about Roman or Byzantinian period. So it is not always means rejecting Israel per se,
