I’m a woman and I love watching your channel. I used to watch my dad shave when I was little. It is so relaxing to watch you and listening to your soothing voice. I actually started wet shaving my face a few months ago. Shaving exfoliates my face and my makeup goes on smoothly.
For what it's worth, (not that my opinion matters) but I absolutely love your videos, Ken. Unfortunately, some people out there hate to see others succeed and just feel better about themselves by trolling. It's quite sad, actually. I appreciate you spending your time, effort, and hard earned money to buy; and review products for us. If you can make any money at all off TH-cam, then by all means I say go for it. You owe nobody an explanation. I really find it unfathomable that people don't understand how much all of these vintage aftershaves, let alone everything else you purchase costs. Which, by the way you do for us, your viewers. Personally, I don't have an exorbitant amount of disposable income, so your reviews help me more confidently pick my purchases. This response appears to be turning into a novella so I'll finish by saying, you're amazing, I love the channel; and keep being you! Personally i dont see any problems with supporting the wet shaving community by talking about and showing others the products. Its the reason i watch your channel sir. I say keep up the good work and ignore the haters.

Nice shave Ken. No explanation necessary on the inner workings of You Tube, I could care less. Leave it as it is. Proraso is great "old school" stuff, still works fantastic today as it did many, many years ago. The Merkur 34G is still sweet as well. Nice finish to the shave. Ken, I agree with what you've said. Many many products are made outside of North America. People should feel free to use those products without guilt or explanation. As for telling your subscribers where you got a particular product from, that's not selling out. That's providing information that people want. I have a crystal skull. I have one because I saw yours & I really liked it. You did one vid showing the product number & I was able to find it on Amazon. Unless it's unobtainium, where a product can be found is very valuable information for wetshaving hobbyists.

On a shaving related note, great choice of products! I often find these days that Proraso is overlooked in favour of the 'artisan' soaps when in fact Proraso stuff is accessible, very reasonably priced and performs well.

Hi Ken! I've been watching, but not commenting for a while. I do enjoy your videos. I am not bothered by the advertisements and you are smart to monetize to offset your cost. You can't please the haters. USA (North American) made shaving equipment and products can be had...at a premium price. While I can afford the ATT, REX, Blackland, WSP, Soap Commander, etc...some folks can't or unwilling to buy. Just be yourself Ken.

Ken, you're awesome. Thank you for being informative and entertaining at the same time. I spent a weekend binge watching your channel, and just started wet shaving, after growing a full beard for about 10 months.
I went to Wal-Mart and bought a Van Der Hagen razor, went to Hy-Vee and bought a puck of Williams soap, and searched high and low for a brush with no luck. I ended up getting a make up brush for women. It's not that great, but it works for now. I went to Dollar Tree and bought a bowl to lather in and a container for the soap. I have always hated shaving, but now have learned to really enjoy the process thanks to you and your channel.
I've now been wet shaving for a week and last night picked up a tube of Cremo shave cream. I was so excited to try it, that I shaved last night, just to see how I liked it. IMO, it's much better than the puck of Williams...LOL!
My apologies for rambling on here. Your videos are high quality, fun to watch, entertaining and educational. I like the fact that you're a man of integrity and James Bond is awesome! :o)

thanks to persons like you I started shaving with brush, and soap of a jar, in the past I was shaving with Gillette mach 3 razor , so now I use DE razors such as edwin jagger 89, gillette slim adjustable ( vintage one ) qshave and ming shi 2000 and ming shi 3000, also my shave den in these 5 months increased from 5 soaps to almost a 100, also now I have more brushes and good ones, so thanks to the channels like yours I am very happy with doing wet shaving , now I am addicted haha , and I am learning every day how to shave correctly and what kind of soaps and razors to buy, greetings from Mexico robert , also it is very pleasant to shave with several scents , it makes my day great

Hey Ken, I think you should get whatever you can !! You're investing time and money, educating,informing, and giving educated opinions. I just started safety razor shaving with a Sallie's Beauty sup. razor and blades, it got bloody, found your channel, got some Wilkinson blades and a Qshave razor and no more blood shed, and I can go two passes and not have raw face for two days. Wow, was that a run on sentence? Anyways, thanks!! Put commercials on every thing, your time and opinions are worth it!!

For me its pretty easy to tell when someone on youtube is promoting a product because they are sponsored or if they are just reviewing it. This is a non issue for me. Great channel
Ken, Honestly, in my opinion, you don't "owe" anyone an explanation about what you choose to do with your channel. The fact you care enough to be transparent and honest giving full disclosure about things just goes to show that you're a man of fine character! You definitely can't please everybody and like you said they don't have to watch your channel if they want to take issue with something like that. Keep up the great videos!!!! I really have loved Stirling Soap products since starting wetshaving, about a year ago, and they make their own DE razors in Arkansas which is kinda cool. Maybe in the future you could review one of them, just for fun. ;)

Hi Ken, your channel is excellent and you don't need to justify what products you use. It's easy to see that you give an honest appraisal of the things you use irrespective of how they came into your den. You really don't need to change anything about your channel to appease a handful of people who don't have anything better to do than find fault with one of the best shaving channels on TH-cam. Just keep in mind the thousands of views you get from people who appreciate the effort that you put in and forget the fault finders. People have to realize it is a win/win for everyone when a TH-camr receive shave gear from distributors/artisans. They receive exposure, viewers discover new gear (this mainly why we are watched after all) and the TH-camr get tu use their money to expand the collection to keep the channel running. Everyone is a winner!
As for the ads, again if it helps why not. Myself, I like to present smaller artisans once in a while. To find someone who makes a product decent enough, I sometime have to buy 7 or 8 soaps to present just one. There is a fair amount of money involved in this. With less than 500 subs, monetizing my channel would be worthless (about 7 $ a year) but if you can why not? At the end of the day, your viewers get to see more new stuff... the viewers are winning again!
You offer some of the best content out there and it would be sad to see a few disgruntled viewers ruin this. I raise my brush to you!

I found a lack of content that was done the way I would want to see.
So, what I'm saying is this, do the videos for you, and not for others.
If I did this for the "freebies" I'd have enough money to buy a cup of coffee.

Prorasso is my go to for cologne, pre shave, shaving cream, and aftershave. I like it a lot. I use Omega brushes as well. Bolanzo blades in a Razo Rock baby smooth razor. I don’t like to stray away from what works. I like to stick with what works. I’m the same way when i go out to dinner. I like to order what i know is good haha. I really should try some new stuff but I’m a creature of habit i guess

Hello, I've just got into Traditional Shaving (3wks) and I've been going thru your videos and watching with great interest all the stuff you have been using and I'm pretty amazed at your 'Den', I quite envy you, it's wonderful. Regarding where you get your products come from i.e, China, well we in the U.K hardly make anything now so we have been getting products from the Far East, Hong Kong etc for years. There was a saying that caught on here in the 80s from a comedy TV programme, and that, "This isn't any of your foreign crap this has come all the way from Japan". (Maybe that will be said about China one day?).....Anyway Look forward to watching you try many different products & Razors....... regards..

Excellent shave as always Ken! Now pardon me while a go achieve a BBS shave as well. I’ll be using a Chinese brush, German razor with a Russian blade. I’ll probably whip up a nice lather in my British mug using Italian soap. Should be good to go as soon as I splash on a bit of Spanish aftershave! I support my American companies as well, but if I only used those products I’d be bored to tears 🤣🤣

I've subscribed to many channels, some about gaming, some about fixing cars etc. and ofc about shaving. To be honest most of movies i watch partially because some are boring and sometimes i just don't feel what author have to say. I watch all your movies from the begining to the end. Not only because I like items you testing but I appreciate what you have to say. For me is perfectly okay that you making movies about stuff that someone gave you and i like that you testing some stuff from china. So keep doing what you do.

Hey Ken, I recently purchased the vintage tin with Proraso Green products. I have to say the products are by far my best in the shave den. The pre shave and soap are awesome. Best soap I own. The aftershave balm followed by some Fine American Blend...it doesn't get better than that. Keep up the great videos!
