I have something like that its a tarp and i have it being held by 4 poles lol
I think that is called a canopy lol
A canopy isn't portable to take it around to places such as at work etc.

Very cool product! Great for when our cars are in the parking lot at work all day, or for those regions of the country where hail is common.

Interesting concept, my concern would be where the strap is hooked or strap is wrapped around wing, is there any movement of the strap? Been my experience straps of any size can scuff the crap out of paint if they rub and move at all. Still very cool idea tho.

Cool, for a cheaper car it would be perfect. But even if that umbrella has soft stuff to prevent “scratches” it will still create swirls like crazy. GM paint is not as hard as you think.

Would the suction cup cause roof to crease with wind?
Where I live in Boca Raton Florida these umbrella's are a dime a dozen. It's so hot here everyone has one of these now at the track, car shows, etc. I can attest they work very well as I've seen this in some bad weather. Looks like it's going to blow away all the time but they hold.
SN95, it is nice to see your reply. Us, Californians, have similar issues. The sun and wind will be the enemies to this product. All the other states have different issues . I would love to hear a follow up . Does his girlfriend appreciate the product? Does it scratch? Did it dent? Does he think that it was a worth while purchase? Hell...did his girlfriend get a promotion to wife? Heck so many questions, so little time.
Have you had problems with the wind? How much wind can it withstand?
Will the hook scratch the car? How about the suction on top of the car that hold the umbrella, With time will that leave a suction cup mark?

that center point is taking all the impact on your roof 😂 you need to check for suction cup indintion now. but I like the tint. pretty cool to keep if your 40miles on freeway and a spur of moment hail storm comes. im curious how much wind it can hold

I live in an apartment complex so my 2018 Camaro SS is in the elements🤷🏼♂️I constantly daily actually clean and dust polish etc. I will definitely have to get a GM outdoor fitted car cover.The umbrella will not work for me but thanks for the review 👍🏻

I get that the weather in PA isn’t Freedom Rocket friendly, but shit do something in the TT ZL1, or get the truck dirty, or just go to CSP and video what they’re up to. No one is asking you to be like Mike, we get you have a real job and a real life, but we don’t want to see infomercials for, honestly, dumb products.

Seems to me that since the suction cup is the point of connection to the car, that anything that hits the umbrella (Tent) would transfer down that point and dent the top of you car ... I don't trust it even after seeing your demonstration.
I've got the Van Halen, Motley Crue Stretch Limousine with Hot Tube.
I think I might need two or three of those car tent umbrellas...
Maybe drive around with umbrella on and do launch control see if it holds on on TT Camaro

I definitely need one. Price is reasonable. My concern would be that the suction cup would definitely leave swirl marks on a new car roof. And what happens if you have a roof top carrier? However, I have an older car and plan to repaint it, so no worries for me. You can use Durabak-18 polyurethane paint which is a bed liner and also for boats. Its a satin finish, not glossy. It can be rolled on or brushed on, or sprayed on. Comes out beautifully, and no chance of swirl marks anymore. All cars should have this paint job from factory instead of those delicate acrylic finishes that are useless, just eye candy.
I wish you had mentioned if there are various sizes for this. I have a 3 door small Yaris and I am hoping it will shade the entire thing. I did not know this existed and was busy trying to invent an umbrella shade myself. Great minds think alike!

The front and rear of your car will get wet as well and what's the point in putting it on your car cuz if you know you have to go somewhere u'll have to take it off and if it's snowing or raining it's just ganna get wet anyways so what's the point. Just asking.

Good idea but ice falling from the sky would be coming down at different velocity, and what about high winds?
You need to throw them higher to get more velocity. But the real test is to get actual hail or iceballs. Get icecubes of varying sizes. Check out the video from DAEriK.

You call that misting a "RAIN-STORM"? Where do you live that hail is only thrown underhand and only straight down? In most States Hail comes horizontal at times due to 60+ MPH winds! did you notice the slight denting of your roof panel from the tensioning of just your straps? This test was more silly than the other guys reviewing this product. They use the word "Tent" due to it sounding more rugged than umbrella.
If I'm bald and I have a convertible can I stick it to the top of my head and use it as a sunshade for me in the car when you're driving down the road...😂😂😂

It's like the windshield things for the snow it takes longer to set it up then it would take to just clean the snow off the car.
I don't think snow is the intended use. If it snows alot that shit breaking lol. Umbrellas arnt ment to hold weight. I see this more useful for keeping tree sap of ur paint, bird poop, and dust and such. But honestly I just need it for tree sap and I'm happy .
And if you have high winds I would never tie the straps around my spoiler or my mirrors cuz it can rip thos off with it hooked to them.
