Painting that ugly hood reminds me of a house I flipped a few years ago. The first thing I did was cut the grass (with weeds that reached my waist) and then have the house painted a neutral color (it was some putrid yellow). That alone made such a difference the neighbors came over to thank me before I'd even touched anything inside.....

Sam if you pull that big air intake off, you may botch the air/fuel mix. If the prior owner did it correctly (a stretch), that big intake is usually mated up to a wider throttle body AND a software flash to accommodate the increased flow. If you go back to stock, I'd make sure no software changes have been made.

This is actually a "mod" for E46 M3 camber plates, you rotate them either 180 (L&R swap) or 120 (like in the vid) which will modify the factory castor angle. I personally had done the L&R swap years ago and found adjusting camber difficult, this isn't as quite as bad but doesn't provide the same amount of increased castor.

Yep, apart from the very late model E46 the headlight lenses just clipped on with a gasket. That style of LED tailight was introduced on the E46 from 2002 in Europe; fitting aftermarket ones on earlier cars will cause bulb warnings on the dash, the OEM version was integrated with a control module and needed coding to work properly.

When removing a headlight or tail light lens in order to clean the interior, I recommend putting a thin smear of silicone o-ring lubricant, sourced from pool supply or plumbing section, across the entire gasket surface. Put a dab of silicone lubricant on your fingertip, smear your finger and thumb together then run your fingertip across the surface. Your finger should glide across the surface and not catch. When your finger catches, add more lubricant and repeat. When gasket is inaccessible to your fingertip, use a Q-Tip or similar to apply. 6 packets of ‘Aqua EZ’ o-ring lubricant is ~$4 at Lowe’s in pool supply section. If you replace the gaskets (one side is adhesive), I would still recommend lubricating the top surface. Since the headlights are already apart, I would simply replace the lenses before I’d fuss with dehazing them. Do NOT use ammonium based products like Windex on clear plastic because ammonia will fog them.

Sam , couple of thoughts generally. First your life would be much easier if you installed a twin post above ground lift. You can get them used for very little and installation is easy. Second as an old BMW hand these cars are very responsive to proper alignment. Night and day. With the aforementioned lift you can get a used electronic alignment system and in 45 minutes really dial them in. Cheers

Headlight Lens Removal: I removed the lense on some Depot projector headlights I bought for my C5 years ago. I put the headlights in the oven at 185 def F for 10 minutes. The rack was covered with a towel to set the headlight on. The lense pulled off super easy without spiderwebbing the acrylic and the gasket remained in perfect use for reattaching the lens. It was as easy as using the heat gun trick, which is basically building a cardboard oven.

Love the way the M3 is looking. Red suits it well. I think black wheels would finish it off.

The Bronze wheels are great look amazing. The paint on the hood looks much better without the black stain. Also the paint match was spot on. Awesome tail lights too. All around nice job! Cheers mate! 🍻

Great looking car now. I like the bronze color wheels. Tail lights/hood repaint made a huge difference in the cheap racer look. I have a new appreciation for these cars.

Looks fantastic, that’s my dream car right there! In manual too! I got the e46 325i that I refreshed myself and did a manual swap on. Was a lot of fun.
