- Here is the step-by-step tutorial for resetting your iPhone to factory settings, which means your phone will be exactly the same as it was when opening the box.
Before doing this, it’s always best to back up your phone using iCloud.
Make sure to sign out of iCloud to disable find my iPhone.

THANK YOU--I just traded an iPhone 7 for a 14, and this was ridiculously simple & EASY to understand.
I'm now charging it up to 100% so whoever gets it next will have one less thing to deal with (if it even matters--the first thing they probbly do is give it a *new* battery!).

Very useful info for non techy people. People who are using AT&T needs this because whenever they trade in their phones they don't do proper factory reset so the phone cannot be reused thus their trade in value lowers down.

What if you already set up new phone before by signing into iCloud but on old phone you didn’t do anything except “erase all content and settings” (then asks for iCloud password), then it restarts and comes back on with the “hello” screen and choose language etc..? I didn’t choose language or go further into the phone to double check if all my stuff was wiped off, I assumed it was and I’m really hoping it is all wiped off. Would it be? Can the “hello” screen come up even if it’s not all wiped?
