As a mongolian , this is impossible to express the feeling of that lyrics in mongolian as english .
Keep fighting for your birth rights!
Agreed. Lyrics is really poetic and I find it really difficult to translate properly as well. I guess you could say the caption really delivered the message but the not as poetic as it is in Mongolian.
That's true.
Played this for my chickens. I now have a coop of velociraptors. Makes collecting eggs difficult.
Joking aside, this is pure masculinity in a strong, non-toxic way. It was the first song they released on YT and they have grown in so many directions since.
LMFAO. Love the opening of your post.
I love The Hu. You put it so well: not ego, just pride. They are very masculine and strong, but not the tictoc toxic masculine at all. Their strength is not over bearing but protective. I also love the mix of trad and modern, and faith to their own culture. We need more. Or as the Hu might say moooooooore 😂❤
Absolutely agree with you1 The guys rock.
on the “lyrics “ - it is a famous Mongol poem from the 17th century. the implied enemy in the poem was the Manchus.
Their music is almost primal, it makes me happy that people are getting to know more about Mongolian culture through the HU
My favorite Mongolian rock group! Started following these guys about 3 years ago. I enjoy their sound and uniqueness.
The Hu is a miracle.
The production values of this video are top notch. The musicians are all highly trained and all of them, I believe, have master’s degrees.
Hi Roscoe, BTS army here. I just finished watching Hu-Wolf Totem OST for the Genghis Khan movie and saw your reaction to the mv which I hadn’t seen. Ignorant me just discovered the Mongolian throat singing about a week ago. The first time I heard it I was so taken aback by the beat, power, strength and a little scary. I’m exploring more of it because it really grabbed my attention to the drastic difference in music style.
Statement of JUST LEAVE US ALONE unless you want to get hurt
Seen them twice in Stockholm. They are even better live ❤❤❤❤
Viking respect
you are true creative mind, your reaction is more real than others. respect
Hey Thanks Buddy! 💜
If you ever have the chance to see them live...DO IT!!!! So Amazing!!
Do it with an open mind! No regrets in Phoenix Az 2023! Loved the show:))
I've seen the hu probably about 5 times and it was amazing every time. I really recommend the song 'the great chinggis kahn'!
the drums at the start......sets the song up so good
One of my favorite song from this band (with Yuve Yuve Yu, you have already react to it if I remember well) . But you need to listen to Mother nature, ft LP, it's stunning ! And Black Thunder ft Serj Tankian and DL of Black Wolves... powerful !
I jumped when I saw you post this. They are awesome.
🫨goosebumps! How you interpreted their pride with a protective purpose🥰. Exactly how I feel. Again you are so great in how you entertain with a purpose❣️
Love the traditional instruments. esp the mongolian guitar and horsehead fiddle, the music is epic and the throat singing is awesome!
I feel similarly about the pride people like these, like Dimash, like EstonianSoldier (another youtuber) feel for their countries. As an American, I find I'm really jealous of that kind of humble, steadfast-feeling pride. Our pride is so wrapped up in growing up being told we're the best at everything, the strongest, the richest, the smartest, the most productive, the most powerful... and so much of it is smoke, mirrors, and bullshit.
To be able to say, "Yeah, I'm from Estonia/Mongolia/Kazakhstan and we may not be the biggest or baddest or richest... but we're still a civilization, a homeland. We have beauty and pride and we deserve respect," without any tinges of regret or inner hypocrisy... I dunno. It's _supremely_ hard to articulate. I've tried many times, and I don't think I've gotten this one moment of emotion to really come across in my words. Not even this time. The way you said it, the emotion in your voice as you said it, is _exactly_ what I feel, and it's something truly special. Patriotism, perhaps as originally intended, as a virtue, instead of as the toxic mess of nationalism most of the west is mired in now.
Spot on. You put it beautifully friend.
i saw the HU live in brisbane australia a couple years ago live they are amazing and i was in the front row i even caught the pick from the guy with the crossbow guitar.
DA,točno. Mala a moćna nacija. Živi po principu "ne diram te,ne diraj me" Ako kreneš,sposobni smo braniti se i uništiti te na svojoj zemlji. Obožavam ih
There are tons of studies about why deep intense heavy drums bring out this almost primal instinct in everyone - this is a modern rock version of a war chant that our ancestors thousands of years ago would have used to rally for battle and something inside of us still harkens back to that war cry, that call of the wolf.
I pray that the fame that's coming doesn't ruin their sound! America has a way of smashing creativity. I have always loved music from other cultures and the HU has lit a fire in me to complete my novel, which takes place in Mongolia.
I love exploring the indigenous groups from all over the world. There is another group out of Siberia I like too, maybe I'll throw them in the requests.
And the instruments are exquisite. As far as the video it's more about the lyrics than anything else love it.
The horses is the Mongolian way of transportation, their food, the moonshine (made out of horse milk, because why not?) and ofc a way to display wealth and power. A lot of Mongolians still live that semi-nomadic life; moving when nature tells them to.
I'm 2 reactions in now, if you keep this up, I might become a new subscriber, but I'm not sure if you'd appreciate that... 😹
xoxo

The instruments are amazing
I love this music!! It’s like Southern Country Rock
I love their Mother Nature song.
Much as I love your reaction, I'd have to say, the Mongol empire wasn't known for just protecting their home and nation, they ruthlessly conquered three quarters of the globe and killed tens of millions, and I think its that spirt they are tapping into.
The hu band amazing
you got it man!!!!

The ultimate ... Dont start None ... Wont be None
I came here after wqtching the blue man listening the hu song, i check up and wow... what is that? Amazing!
They made an album where they mix their songs with some other music groups. They remade this song with Bad Wolves. They also have a good one with a guy from Alice in Chains called We Are Mongols (Warrior Souls). You may want to check it out too.
Hardly anyone in your regions understands the true meaning of the message of these words. Their entire history of the Mongol Empire is expressed here, all the power (the empire is many times larger than the Roman Empire, occupied almost 40 million square kilometers). We've been sitting under them for 240 years only. And now few people will even tell you where Mongolia is, let alone say who Genghis Khan, Ogedai, Akhmat are. My wife and I all want to go to Ulaanbaatar on vacation, fortunately not far from the Far East.
Not sure if anyone in your chat or here in the comments mentioned it, but their name "The Hu" means "The Human" essentially.
Basically anytime they chant "Hu" in this song, they're chanting "Human".
At least to my understanding
'Lord Chinggis, the reinforcements have arrived.'
love the hu
I have only one thing to say. HU HU HU HU HU HU HUUUUUUUUUU
You can see why the Europeans were scared spitless of Chinggis Khaan and his people.
I love their music and videos.
The indigenous beat gets you viscerally.
Thanks for sharing.
I get the feeling Mongolian bikers are probably really nice guys.
I feel like invading a medium size city after this!
This song makes me want to go take some shit over and build a temple dedicated to Genghis Khan
Loved it. Awesome
its a fight song which many cultures use to build up the warriors...
I love it
👵👋 I love the Hu....they are awesome. My brother introduced me to them a while ago and I still like to listen to them now and again... not as much as I listen to BTS though 😉🤭🫂💜

Can you do reaction The Hu -Sugaan Essana (Black Thunder ) and Great Chinggis Khaan also Shireg Shireg . Thanks mate
The Hu have a version of this song with Papa Roach.
You should try Toonot Mongolian old hip hop
Like Thunder Road or Country Folks Will Survive.
These are the descendants of the people
who formed one of the largest land empires
defeating the Chinese, the Arabs and Persians
and knocking out the Rus and getting close to taking over Europe.
The Wolf Totem comes from that era
Watch this song but with Jacoby from Papa Roach and you will love it too
Wow!
