So good they did this collab version. The song goes from 10/10 to 11/10. But the official video must still be watched, it is so awesome.
I'm personally a bit more of a fan of the original version, but this one definitely isn't very far behind. It's a very tight race that I can see going either way for most people. They do sound a lot better together than you'd think, and at the very least, it's introducing more people to the Hu themselves.
you should get your mom to react to The HU featuring Lzzy Hale in their Song of Women. another Mongolian band is Tenggar Cavalry. they do some throat singing and use some traditional intruments too, but are more into electronic sound than The HU. they are pretty traditional in their sound from what i understand. please do more.

I've been a fan of The Hu for the last few years, they're INCREDIBLE. Their first album, "The Gereg" is fantastic, and their new album "Rumble Of Thunder" is even better.
I saw them in a small venue last year and they're absolutely incredible.

They are awesome live. Saw them open for Halestorm last year.
The 2 string being played with a bow is a Morin Khuur. The 3 string played like a guitar is a Tovshuur. 4 members and 4 touring members.
Gala and Enkush -Morin Khuur and throat singing., Jaya- throat singing, Tumur Hhuur (jaw harp), Tsuur(end blown flute), Temka- Tovshuur.
Touring members Ono- percussion ,Jamba -guitar, Davaa- bass, Odko- drums
2 songs besides this one redone with new English lyrics and guest singers. Yuve Yuve Yu with Danny Case (From Ashes To New), and Song of Women with Lzzy Hale (Halestorm).
You should check out Apocalyptica. "White Room " with Jacobi Shaddix, "Don't Talk to Me " with Lzzy Hale, plus songs with Adam Gontier, Corey Taylor, Gavin Rossdale, Lacey Strum, Frankie Perez, and Brent Smith. They're a Finnish metal cello quartet, so no main vocalist.
Anything by Apocalyptica is great.
They are amazing
All these guys studied music and can play at least two instruments. The long haired guy was a teacher and some of them actually studied under him! Imagine rocking out with your teacher! And like you said about Jacoby, I've yet to hear anything these guys have done that I don't like.

I was lucky enough to see them summer of 2021 in an outdoor amphitheater in San Antonio opening for Volbeat. I’m a 61 y/o rock and metal head. I’ve been to many live shows but never anything quite like that show. I have loved Volbeat for years and had some exposure to the Hu but when those tribal instruments and chant’s started echoing up through the Texas hill country it was really amazing. I have never heard a crowd at a concert get that quiet before. I don’t think you could even hear the noise of the city surrounding us.

They didn't come out of nowhere, we just didn't see them.
So i got to see The Hu live with five finger death punch and megadeath last year and they absolutely killed it !! 🩶
I actually saw these guys live when they were on tour with Fire From The Gods, Megadeath, and Five Finger Death Punch. Absolutely loved their set list. 20/10 would recommend seeing them live

1) Their label looks like a Gereg (Gereg was a special plate, only a few people in Mongolian empire could have it. Gereg was given by Chinghiz Khaan only. People who were ordered with Gereg had total entries and all rights to do something or get something in a first line. They had similar rights as Chinghiz Khaan. Gereg became first diplomatic passport in the ancient world). That’s why a sample of Gereg is in United Nations museum (NY, Manhattan). 2) The HU is shorter name from Hunnu (the ancient people in Eastern Asia), Mongols have Hunnu background (if you visit National Museum in Ulan Bator you can learn more). 3) Musical Instruments of the band are unique because they made for the HU only and it made like traditional Mongolian instruments (it’s handcrafted work).

I believe it's almost like a prepair for battle song. There's a translation in the song I think the original "If you come with evil intentions, we will give you fight" so it is very much a hype song. Like in the original video they very much look like they are riding to the front lines ready to protect their land and homes. It's just an all around awesome way of them bringing their culture and ancient traditions into modern-day light. And getting to share it with the whole world. Love rocking out to them.
I do enjoy this version, but I prefer the original version without Jacoby Shaddix, and I recommend checking that out too (with subtitles in English) the video is simultaneously simple and epic.
The raptor calls created using the Horsehead Fiddle are incredible.

A couple other collabs they have done was Yu Yu Yuve with Danny Case of From Ashes to New and Woman Song which features Lizzy Hale. They also did a cover of Metallica's Sad But True. But their stuff alone is so amazing and beautiful! (By the way, love seeing Rykerroad mom on these with you!)

Oh, I'm so glad you guys found The Hu! I found them about two months ago and wondered how the heck I had missed out on them for so long! LOOOOOOVE the sound and that throat singing is just...*chef's kiss*
They were all classically trained. The 2 stringed instruments are called morin khuurs the 3 stringed guitar is called a tovshuur or lute.
Saw them live on their first tour outside mongolia. It's like marching into battle with them.

I'll be honest, though Jacoby Shaddix and Lzzy Hale are great singers, I prefer The Hu versions without the English-speaking singers. I'd suggest Yuve Yuve Yu next (the video is also beautiful), or Sad But True (Metallica cover). I also really like The Great Chinggis Khaan.

A band i would suggest would be Bloodywood, the song "Machi Bhasad" (expect a riot) its an Indian Folk Metal band. also another band to react to is Soil with their songs "Halo" and "Too Far Away"

They all do throat singing but the lead singer has a really deep voice so he sounds really fierce. The Morin khuurs only have two strings and the tovshur (guitar) only has three strings. They get a tremendous sound out of the instruments, especially when they're "plugged in." They're just fabulous musicians. New album out--"Rumble of Thunder."
