    Anyone watching this-this is by far the hardest way to do this. Instead, use a 10 mm socket and remove the bracketed piece that is in your way from the top. Remove the electrical connections that are in your way. After that their are 2 5/16 screws that hold the resistor in place, don’t try to remove resistor connector before removing screws bc chances are it will be melted. Also buy the pigtail wiring and resistor. Under $30 for all. In regards to this video-I can change my oil by taking out the engine but I’d rather not, Jesus Christ

      No kidding. This is like lowering the river instead of raising the bridge! 😲

    I have the 2.3, just opened my hood, and WOW it's like right there on top lol I mean there's less stuff in the way because the engine is smaller, but this video makes it look so much further down than it actually is

    Very useful video!! Ty!
    Have to point out, you used a pair of wire cutters for pulling that clip, and gouged the metal of the body, right through the paint. i can't believe you used a sharp metal tool to pry that plastic piece off a painted metal part. that part of the truck already has issues with rust from being near the road grime, and from water pooling on the body as it drips off the truck during rain. no one is going to look there to find it, and it's going to rust out.
    to anyone watching, don't use a metal tool for doing that!! otherwise, this video is awesome.

      We currently do not have an auto repair video specific to your vehicle. You might be able to apply some of the basic steps shown in this video to your application. +Samuel Anderson

    I successfully installed it. Fan speed 3 and 4 only work now. 2 still doesn’t.

    Is there a way to do this without damaging the customers paint job and marring up all the plastic?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jack Benimble Thanks for watching! You can always put some painters tape on the edges of the body where the panels need to be removed. That should add some level of protection for the paint!

    When I did this on a Nissan pickup, I had to remove the glove box to reach the resistors. Better design, less time.

      +PhillipC We appreciate the feedback. Sometimes there are multiple ways to accomplish the same repair.
