If you eliminate all the stupid options for the Judge, it's actually extremely effective. It usually comes down to people who know almost nothing about it "bashing.". The handgun Federal 000 buckshot makes this gun indisputably viable for home defense. You cannot argue it at all if you want to use a handgun. Four .36 calibers that penetrate 15+ inches per trigger pull. That's like a small firing squad of .32 ACPs at once. And it's accurate at 12 yards(6-inch spread), which is FAR beyond anything in a home defense situation. The problem is "experts" review it using crappy ammo, you might as well review a 9mm with dummy rounds and call all 9mm worthless.

You are exactly right!! And that’s where I find that the conversation turns to accuracy and that’s when you hear “ it’s not good” so my question is where is the cut off point. But your comment is spot on!!!👍👍

@@jackrabbit1379 If you're shooting at someone from over twelve yards, you should be able to remove yourself from the situation or force them into your effective range. The closer they get, the advantage goes to you. Honestly, the .45lc is not bad at all from the Judge, very underrated in terms of accuracy. It's just me, but I would not fire buckshot in public, its deadly shit and does spread, just nowhere near what "experts" claim. I feel the judge is the perfect home defense handgun though.
Reliability issues are also a lie. I researched it and found that it's just a created negative by haters. There are no reports of mass or even common failures beyond any other gun. You will not be able to find me a single report of common failures, just specific instances, specifically before the US plant got involved.

@@bmx7596 I totally agree I say the exact same thing, and I get …why carry it if you are limited and liable.. I believe this is where the controversy starts, I think for a lot of people it’s just easier to carry something they don’t have to think about whether it’s yardage or whatever, lol but I agree totally

@@jackrabbit1379 Also, another advantage is the amount of terminal performing lead you're hurling at the enemy. I can do a cylinder dump in 1.5 seconds on a torso at 10 yards, thirty .36 calibers. That's more lead than some machine guns. I have the raging judge so it varies

@@manilikefirearms7499 Why do you hunt down videos of guns you don't like? At least in my case, it makes sense. You're a couple of fake gun guys reviewing the judge with birdshot like that's viable for anything. You can make anything look bad when you run the worst ammo.

I primarily use this in open carry situations here in the upstate of South Carolina (trout fishing, bush hogging, etc), although it can be used for concealed carry with a long shirt or inside holster. I grew up using long weapons (rifle, shotgun for hunting), so I didn't have much experience with handguns. I chose this weapon for option to alternate rounds. I use pdx and long colt for a "slow them down" and "put them down" option. I don't want to spend much time aiming at my target, so the pdx seemed the best option for the initial round.

I put a Pachmeyer Diamond grip on mine, it's a full grip fits gun like a glove. I carry in a belly band at the moment, doesn't print that bad. Grip on Amazon, and Amazon has 5 shot speed strips. I'm waiting on IWB holster from Alien gear, hope it's good. Getting a belt to has 2 pockets for ammo. Right now I have 2 - 45LC, 2 -410 SLUGS, 1- 410-5 Pellet which is actually a 3 inch but fits in 2.5 cylinder. I like the Hornaday triple defense, 000 4 pellet, or 45LC. And my plan is just for up close personal defense. Not shooting 40 feet away actually not even 20 feet away probably. I got a Taurus 85 amd Taurus 605 357 both steel, and this Taurus Judge Public Defender poly 2inch.

@@jackrabbit1379 well I'd say try it out, Amazon has always refunded me on lots of things so if you don't like it return it. Make sure you get grip for poly only. They have 1 for poly 1 for steel. It really does feel full in your hand like it's the grip the gun should have been made with. It would just be whatever you feel comfortable with. Yes the extra pinky room on grip it pokes out a bit but winter time nobody will know, all depends what your wearing. I'm 5'9" 180lbs medium build carry appendix my xl shirts cover good, if your looking you can see there might be something there, but then again it's a big gun for concealed carry. My son has one...he carries it either in his pocket and I couldn't tell (doesn't print) or he appendix carries with it and still doesn't print. He carries it with a mix of .410 and .45LC and he really likes it. I wanted to get one as well for EDC but I was worried about the recoil with the .45LC and the .410 with such a short barrel so I opted for the Taurus 605 .357 Protector Poly instead due to my hands are not very big and therefore may not grip the Taurus Judge properly. It's all a preference...some people like it and some don't, everyone knows the strengths and flaws, you have to make a decision knowing what those are and how it will affect you and live with them or decide on something else.

Well sir. Since 3 kings I wanted the platform. Now this Taurus came out years ago. I waited to see if it would stand up to test them f time. And I have one now. At 300 hundred dollars it's a good gun. On the ranch I load it with one round of 410 for snakes. And in town with 45 long colt. 7 to 100 yards. I'm good. Any thing under 9mm is just not right. For me any ways. My wife is 5ft. And is good at shooting this gun. Oh and don't have a holster yet. But the fobus looks like what I want in a holster. Owb is what I like.

I have a Public Defender Poly, I bought it as a fun gun to shoot and for home defense. I replaced the original grip with the Pachmeyer and in my opinion it feels 10x better in the hand, able to control snap a bit better with a tight pinky grip. I watched all the videos I could before making the purchase, I was originally looking at the Governor but between the cost difference and the local gun shop didn't have one, I ended up with the Taurus instead. Might be hard to believe, but to me one of the most satisfying guns to shoot at close range, with all the variety of the ammunition. I once seen a meme on FB that said it all, it showed a picture of a Judge with shells hanging out of it and the text said "Why a handgun that shoots shotgun shells? Because wrong house motherf*cker!" If that doesn't say it all, then I don't know what else. I don't know if you've seen nutnfancy's review of the Public Defender, he's one of the best unbiased reviewers on youtube, he talks in length about each piece he reviews. I wouldn't personally carry it concealed due to size and ammunition capacity, even with the smaller grip it prints too much and using speed rails in high stress situations in my opinion is impractical. If we were allowed to open carry it would be a different story, as an EDC I'd be displaying that on my waist as a deterrent, and keeping my 9mm backup in deep conceal.

@@jackrabbit1379 the g3c has a better trigger than the PT 111. I actually have every lineup of the semi-automatic pistols. Some of them I have two of.
I have the pt111, g2c, g3c,g3 and I just got new Toro out of the g series

The only thing I would say with the semi-automatic pistols is Polish the feed ramp. The finish on the feed ramp makes it hard for the hollow points well at least some of the hollow points. I carry Lehigh defense maximum expansion or federal HST Deep
