Yes, this is exactly the purpose of this! The only thing to be mindful of is if the layer is a different thickness when you are using an SDX auto blade. Only because the auto blade will only check at the start of its cutting cycle. If you are using the older CM model you may be able to pause the cut and make some adjustments. In reality... keeping to the same thickness materials is the easiest.

What about separate colors that are the same size for a multiple layer project. Like layer 1 red, layer 2 blue, layer 3 yellow, layer 4 green, ect.
