I just bought the ScanNCut machine and spent 4 hours going through only part of the manual. I got a lot more information and understanding of how to do things from your video than I did from the manual. I want to view more of your videos. Do we join or subscribe to AllBrands to do that? You are very clear in your instructions and I so appreciate seeing you actually do it.
Thank you for this. I have not used my machine even after paying for two classes at a dealer. I have learned more about what I needed and will now be able to use my machine for what I bought it.
waiting for my machine to arrive tomorrow. i felt like you were doing a one on one with me. I was even talking back to you. It was if we were friends and you said look let me show you.... definitely will watch all your vids thank you❤
Great refresher video for me. I will be working with fabric soon. I use Terial magic for years myself. I am glad to see more snc videos with it being used on fabric. Another good product to use if you want your own design or picture on something is inject printable iron on fabric sheets. I used it with a picture of one of my collectable teacups, as I am making special fabric containers for the teacups. I put a picture of the teacup on the fabric container. Much like an applique. Very easy to do. Enjoyed your video and will be watching. Thanks for sharing.
I subscribed to your channel. I’m a newbie and after watching your videos I was brave enough to give it a try and cut some fabric pieces. I look forward to learning more. There’s so much info out there, it can be overwhelming. Glad I have a go to. Ty!
Courtney… you are super positive and so awesome with your presentation…i am on the fence about upgrading… but i believe i may be changing. Thank you for all that you do👍
Susan, I always draw my seam allowances before I cut my fabric. I would replace my blade when you are no longer getting good cuts. But I use mine a lot and it is still very sharp! Hope this helps.
Before. You will notice if you have to continuously cut twice to go through all the fabric that the rotary blade needs to be replaced. They last a lot longer than you'd think. Hope that helps!
We have done a few videos on scanning in a printed images that I found googling online. The last two were the Santa Foot Print and Santa Treat board videos on our channel. -Courtney
Just purchased the Brother Scan n Cut for cutting fabric. Frustrated because I couldn't get it to cut fabric so I found this video. It came with a regular mat and universal blade. I will now order the fabric mat and a fabric blade. I love the idea of the rotary blade you mentioned however, I can't find it. The Fabric Blade on the Brother website was sold out so I found it on Amazon but neither places have the roller blade you mention.
Love your demo, than you. I haven't bought a machine yet. Can you please tell me, are you restricted to the patterns loaded on the machine or can I connect to the internet for more designs. Can I also draw my own designs?
You can print images and scan them in, you can download them on the web and transfer by USB stick or wirelessly, you can draw your own designs in canvas workspace, and so much more. The amount of designs you can use are virtually limitless.
Hi Sherry. The machine will let you know when to switch the lever. Going up to lever two will allow you to bring thicker fabric into the machine. - Courtney
Hi Val. I haven't tried it myself but now that is on my list of things to try. I don't see why you couldn't as long as it's a good quality cork. - Courtney
can we do layers?? maybe using wax paper in between or pos basting spray ie making doll patterns via enbroidery then using the fcm lines or direct scan??????
Hi Becky. I have the same scan n cut as you. My question is, how do you transfer designs from a disc to the scan n cut? I have a quilt I want to do that doesn't have paper patterns.
You used the rotary blade on fabric then you used that same rotary blade with the paper backing? Is that really a good idea since we cut fabric with designated fabric blade/scissors and paper with a designated paper blade/scissors? You can’t re-sharpen that rotary blade, right?
Hi Tanya. Even when cutting fabric with the paper backing the blades last a really long time. Since a lot of those paper backings are pretty thin it doesn't wear the blade that bad. If you were going to do a lot of appliques then it might be best to have a separate rotary blade just for cutting the fabric treated with paper backing. -Courtney
i had the cm machine, and i had the fabric support sheet on a mat, and not matter what i tried it wouldnt cut my fabric,,,then a couple of years ago i got the 225f and the fabric mat and blade,,,and first time it worked for me,,,love the fabric mat and blade
I have the SDX 125e. I want to cut specific images out of fabric. Much the way I can cut images out of scrapbooking paper. For example - I want to cut a variety of Nutcrackers from a piece of fabric that has multiple Nutcracker images on it. If I cut a piece with one image on it, back it with Wonder Under and then use the fabric mat and rotary blade will it cut just around the image? Hope this makes sense. 😀
i cannot figure out how to separate individual parts in the svg file i need to move some so i can use 2 different colored fabrics on one cut i have tried to follow the tutorials but must be missing something ihave the scx 125
Hello! I have the SDX125 and I have tried to cut leather and balsa wood and it did not work out well for me. I used my standard mat and auto blade. Should I be using a different mat or blade?
Thanks Courtney! I'm wondering if you're still going to use your gold fabric blade with that fabric that has the paper heat and bond lite paper backing on it
Hi Leah, Yes I want to still use my fabric blades since I'm more worried about getting a good cut for my fabric than dulling them with the paper. Blades last a really long time so the paper shouldn't dull it to fast. - Courtney
Yes there is a button to lighten and darken the background. www.google.com/search?q=scanncut+darken+background+buttonm&rlz=1C1VDKB_enUS1052US1052&oq=scanncut+darken+background+buttonm&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i160l4.7578j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:a3f49102,vid:G3GK4TG-kPw,st:93
Hi Cindy. The blocks each have a letter and number name. Their isn't a list outside the machine but I usually suggest scrolling through the blocks. That way you can write down the name of the blocks you like for future reference. - Courtney
Hi Rosie, I'm sorry that model does not cut .pes files. There are softwares that you can use to make cut files even better that the models that cut the outline of the design. I recommend the lowest cost option Simply Applique : www.allbrands.com/products/65662-brother-sabessadl-simply-applique-creative-embroid . I hope this helps.
Thank you so much for your wonderful video’s, I am now starting to use the machine I got 8 months ago & it’s not as hard as I thought with a great deal of help from you.
Courtney HELP 🥺on the scan and cut machine SDX 325. There is a pattern in the quilting section. It is PA-A003 does anyone have a video out there on how to sew it together?
can you show how to take one of the images built in and enlarge it? Like the heart or tree or leaf or shamrock...please!! Also can you cut the Insul-Brite with the Scan n Cut?
I put the paper side down with the heat n bond, HUGE MISTAKE! I cut out the anchor, the fabric came off but the paper anchor stuck to my mat and wouldn’t come off. 😢 I had to dig and scrape tiny bits off with my fingernail. Won’t ever do that again! 😅
Hi Angela. Yes you can resize Disney that is built into the machine. The older Disney cards that were available couldn't but the ones in the machine can be resized. - Courtney
I would like to learn how to cut svg files for rhinestones. I haven’t been able to find a video about it. I know how to do the rhinestones template that are included with the machine or rhinestones kit.
Hi Denise! Thanks so much for reaching out. You can adjust the video's speed by clicking on the gear icon and selecting a slower pace. I often find myself adjusting speeds too, as everyone has their own preference. Hope that tip helps! Best, Barbara

Thanks for the info I didn’t know I could choose two cuts at the same time

Really useful tutorial as I’m a totally newbie to the scan n cut, thank you. ❤❤❤

You’re teaching me a lot thanks so much
Thank you for watching! - Courtney
your video is really good. you made it seam easy.
Thank you for watching. - Courtney
Thanks for all of the great info.
Hi from Australia. When is best to draw the 1/4” seam allowance. Before cutting or after cutting. How do I know when my rotary blade is getting blunt.
Susan, I always draw my seam allowances before I cut my fabric. I would replace my blade when you are no longer getting good cuts. But I use mine a lot and it is still very sharp! Hope this helps.

Your videos are fabulous! SNC videos that actually start at the beginning for newbies! Great examples! Learned so much from you!! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Have you showed how to take a image from google and cut it out? Thanks for sharing your knowledge
We have done a few videos on scanning in a printed images that I found googling online. The last two were the Santa Foot Print and Santa Treat board videos on our channel. -Courtney
Glad I found this video. Now I will try cutting fabric.
You can do it!
Thank you so much 😺 I’m going to have so much fun now.
Best video I have watched, to the point, no fluff and learned allot!
Thanks!
Is there anything that doesn’t wash off the fabric to treat it to make it remain stiff even after washing?
Just purchased the Brother Scan n Cut for cutting fabric. Frustrated because I couldn't get it to cut fabric so I found this video. It came with a regular mat and universal blade. I really enjoy and learning things about the SNC from you, thanks for sharing
Glad to hear it!

Courtney please explain what the lever on the left side of machine is for it has a 1 & 2
Hi Sherry. The machine will let you know when to switch the lever. Going up to lever two will allow you to bring thicker fabric into the machine. - Courtney
do I need to buy the rotary kit in order to work. or can I just get the rotary blade.
Great video! Thanks Courtney
Very helpful...keep them coming, please.
You got it!
Do you find that the fabric mat loses its stickiness - do you have to re-stick it? Love the video!
Love your video's . Can you emboss the cork?
Hi Val. I haven't tried it myself but now that is on my list of things to try. I don't see why you couldn't as long as it's a good quality cork. - Courtney

Can you use that same scan n cut machine with a babylock machine. Is your machine compatible with my vesta

question! Do you have to buy the rotary cutting kit first.?, or can just buy the rotary cutting blade??
I Just bought the rotary blade.
Hello! Purchase the kit first, then when the blade gets dull you can purchase just the blade to replace it.
Can you use the new blade with the SnC sdx225???
I have the SDX 125e. I want to cut specific images out of fabric. Much the way I can cut images out of scrapbooking paper. For example - I want to cut a variety of Nutcrackers from a piece of fabric that has multiple Nutcracker images on it. Great video information. Does your rotary blade have to be registered with Brother before using it?
HI! I would register it before using the rotary blade in your machine. - Courtney
Thank you!
I guess I'm tired but is there a way to see the design when you scan in black fabric? I have trouble seeing the design. I have a CM350e... thanks,V

You videos are awesome-how long do the blades last (i.e. how many full mat runs with cotton backed with eat-n-bind?)
I find after using 3mm vinyl, my mat is not holding on to anything. Is that normal? Any suggestions?
HI! Was it a heat transfer vinyl or a pressure sensitive vinyl? Which mat were you using? What have you tried to clean it with? - Courtney
@@allbrands1976 faux leather might paint a better picture. It's thinner than 3mm. Regular mat. Dawn soap and water
On the quilting blocks, how do you find the name of the blocks?
Hi Cindy. The blocks each have a letter and number name. Their isn't a list outside the machine but I usually suggest scrolling through the blocks. That way you can write down the name of the blocks you like for future reference. - Courtney
@@allbrands1976 Thank you for this suggestion.
I purchased a pes file how do I upload it to my scan and cut it won’t read it. I have the sdx 125

Thank you so much for your wonderful video’s, I am now starting to use the machine I got 8 months ago & it’s not as hard as I thought with a great deal of help from you.
Can these blades interchange with a cm900?
Hi the SDX auto blades can only work on SDX machines not CM Models.
Courtney HELP 🥺on the scan and cut machine SDX 325. There is a pattern in the quilting section. It is PA-A003 does anyone have a video out there on how to sew it together?

Hi Carolyn. Yes you can cut the Insul-Brite with the ScanNCut. Please watch the ScanNCut 102 video we made where we show how to enlarge. - Courtney
Hello everyone!!
Do you can resize Disney?

How many built in images or fonts does it come with. Could I transfer the fonts from scan n cut to my babylock and stitch it or embroider it
