The Complete Process of a Praying Mantis Hatching

Over the last month, my praying mantis egg cases (oothecas) have been slowly hatching. I recorded some close up footage of the process to get a detailed view.
It's amazing to see these tiny fragile looking creatures emerge, fully equipped with spiky legs and ready to begin their first hunt.
The species is Miomantis caffra, native to southern Africa. Freshly hatched, they start off at around 5mm in size. Fully grown, they reach around 3.5 - 4.5cm.
