This is a 2019 170” Extended 3500 Mercedes Sprinter Van with our family van layout with an amazing bed lift that sleeps 4.
This convertible bunk bed utilizes a HappiJac bed lift. This gives this family the best of both worlds - they have a place to sit and eat together as a family AND two beds - the lower bed is an almost king size bed and the top bed is almost queen size.

I always love how professional your finishes look in your vans. Also love the idea of a removable toilet so you can have a proper shower and of course that bed is awesome, even if you don't have kids and it's just for guests.

best to use the bed as main bed, you can leave the seating as it is and have a bed you can lower and if you don't need it bring it back up. no hustle with split cussions and converting ;-)

Single mom trying to survive through this pandemic on low income. Not sure if I will have a roof over our head next month. I work at my sons elementary school which makes my postition unnecessary seeing they will be starting online. I have followed your videos for a long time. You are so great at what you do and it shows how much love you put into each van. I absolutely love this layout and have even drawn out a floor plan similar to fit my needs. My dream is to one day afford to convert a van like this. It would be a dream come true and alleviate so much stress and anxiety I have just trying to survive and pay for basic needs. Thank you for these videos, it has taught me a lot about what it takes to do this. Its given me the ins and outs and hopefully when I can afford to do this I will have you guys as a guide to make it a reality. You guys are awesome. I have watched this particular video about 20+ times lol and share it with friends and family.

This was a beautiful build the only thing I would of done differently if it was me would be to make the front seat swivel so you could have a table there then under the bed could be storage.
yes and u could push the back 2 seats against the wall and swivel the front 2 to make space for a table
Yeah the idea to maybe even get bigger seats,leather like bigger RV, swivel and rear seats (captain seats or bench) also same style, can slide to get more space as table seats..so it looks great and has a table just like in the video. but maybe its more complexe then it looks!!
This is perfect! I would put in a skylight above the bunkbed, but otherwise, it's got everything you could ever need.

I love the concept of the bunk bed and dinette bed functioning altogether. The renovation that you did on this RV are highly functional for a family.
I love this build. I would remove the extra seats and add more storage/ closet space.
I also love this build but for a family van there's really no place to put clothes and personal hygiene items.
This was built for family of four . So yes space would be limited .

It's really common =) They even make specially shaped pillows for it.

I'm a guy and i do it too. I'm 6', wide frame. Result? Whenever I sleep on one of the side, the upper side hip really latches an awkward position.
A pillow means not only comfort but also a human woman. So no feeling lonely. Lmfaoo

I this this is the best van layout for me for sure. Since it's just me and my husband, we can keep the dinette area as dining/work space without needing to disassemble to bed and keep bed on a happijac bed. And if you make it u-shaped couch, you can have a small garage from the back too!!!!! Literally the.best.layout!
Yeah the only thing I missed seeing is what kind of storage they had, especially at the back. And they mentioned a propane tank at the back ... dunno sounds kinda dangerous, but ... I'm just curious. I would love to have seen that.
Question: with the raised bed, how would you prevent moisture/mold getting into the wood and mattress (from either boiling water in a kettle or the shower)?

I always fall in love with the van nor tiny house which has a nice bathroom. For me, bathroom ia the most important thing.
Absolutely amazing work. Personally I wouldn't trust a motorized system for the second bed. One glitch or stupid kid messing with stuff and you're squished.
I was thinking the same thing!
If they could make those lifts with key slots like they have those adjustable metal bed frames, they'd be able to use a c lock at whatever height they want the bed. If the bed fails, it would safely rest on the locked key slots. That's how I would do it.
For anyone wondering who bought this beautiful van. We are a cat family of 20 cats, plenty of sleeping space and fridge for fish and mice! As cats we prefer a portable toilet, the kitty litter :P We like the electronic cat tower / bed lift and wide windows so we can sit by them and watch life go by. Thanks Sara and Alex :-)

Is there any safety feature for the upper bed? It can be really dangerous if the bed moving upward by accident while someone sleeping on it.
Daniel Nguyen, really? I think the criteria is to have an IQ above 72. The switch is inside a high cabinet so nothing (children) can “accidentally” hit it.
@@jannezack You wake up in the middle of the night reaching into the cabinet to get a certain thing but you are not fully awake and the light is dim so you 'accidently' hit the bed lifting switch :D.

@@gabakusa That would be a great price. You need to calculate your hours going into this build. I would guess 1-2 years without experience and limited time because you need to work right? Also I am sure it would then not look like this. Heck a VW California with less futures and space is around that price and it is not custom build.

@Sandi , omg yes it would include a van. That person who responded is implying that the build is 100k plus another 60k+ for the vehicle!? Who pays 150-200k to live in a van!? I don't know about where you are from come up but where I am in Texas $200000 will get you a 4500 ft² home!!!🤷🏼♀️js....
Cris Agustin: You might wanna check "adventures" They bought their 2019 or 2020 van for 55k and the conversion cost was around 24k its similar to this one, but it does not have the extra bed, really nice layout though.

How do you know and guarantees a bedleft? How do you know that it won't seize up or fall on the people sleeping beneath it?. Is that something you guarantee for life?. Is this something you guarantee or what

Will the bed go down. My thought about this is you would have to make up the lower bed when you wish to sleep. Just lower the bed. And put it up when done.
What do your van conversions run, cost wise? I know it varies but, my husband and I want to travel when we retire and have been looking at travel vans.

This is amazing. I would make the bed in the back FT instead of a table, and have the 3rd and 4th seat slide back and a table fold down so seats 1 and 2 can swivel and transform into a dining/work area for all 4 seats. I’d also have a pocket type slide come out to “close” the space to the bottom bed and this would literally be perfect for my small family. Can you please reach out to me for building info???
I like this one. I would not put in the other 2 seats and replaced with a big closet and drawers for better clothes storage. Swap out the stove for a different type. And that is it. That would be perfect for me.

Loved the design, I can imagine living there (just me) and using the living room in the back on the day and taking down the bed for the night, if it comes around the height of the table beneath it. It's a great idea so you can sleep and have full Windows around you

Bravo for this great achievement. We do not often see van fitted with a shower and this is important. Why is there no toilet? Is there a safety device on the electric bed so as not to crush the children? ;)
By far the best camper I have ever seen. Your conversions are my favorite ones.
I love these vans! But water tanks are so small. It is barely enough to take shower for one person. I could not do it with 35gal fresh water tank and had to trade up in size just because of that.
Tatiana P you can add freshwater under the van with a much larger tank if you find a new location for the spare tire. This client didn’t want to relocate it.

I've watched a lot of videos on custom-building vans, this is so far the best and the most practical. I love the design! Me and my partner have been thinking about "van living" but I'm not 100% for it yet. We'll see. If ever we do it, I'll contact you guys definitely!

Yes, you need to get a smaller husband. Around 5'7 would be ideal.

I am always curious what it’s like to have a shower/bathroom without a vent? How does that affect the environment in the van after a shower? I see the fan just outside the shower, but how is steam released during the shower? It appears to be totally enclosed...

I simply love it. I was looking for a layout that I would be able to travel in and use as a transport vehicle if I needed too. I think it's great for taking the kids to Disney World or the Wiscousin Dells. I have a couple of questions, first how easy would it be to add a third chair and make it recline. I have an aunt who is almost immobile and simply couldn't ride that far without her legs being raised. Perhaps, the extra seat could be removable? Also, is it possible to have seat belts in the back bench seats. It seems that whenever someone has a van at my family reunions everyone want to ride with them especially if their are children around? By the way, I simply LOVE the happy jack bed. I always wondered why more people didn't do it.

I think a few times they said things like we are going to add that to our next van. Once regarding the a/c unit. I will be doing a van tour of my build when it is done soon on my channel. Check it out.
nice you have worked really hard to create a brand. NICE ! a/c ...I am starting my build using a standard (small) 110 a/c unit with a small Yamaha inverter generator ! my goal is to park in the shade (not sun) to keep van cool ! then a/c as needed. You build amazing quality NICE !!!!!!

The toilet situation is why I don't have a van, RV, tent,or camper. I will never believe there is no smell or overflows. And dumping blackwater tanks is just gross. We had an outhouse when I was young and I pray I never have to live that way again.

Zita Lorna the thing about costs is that everyone freaks out when they hear that it costs $100k or even more. The vans are expensive when bought new and then the sky is the limit when it comes to finishes. Can you build a cheaper version of this van? Yes, but the things in this van are high end, intended to last for years. Nice job indeed!
What if the children are sleeping on the upper bed, and somebody by accident pushes the wrong buttons?
Farid Zakeri my guess is it’s sensitive to pressure or probably doesn’t have much impact force. Hopefully lol
you could probably install I bar across or stopper so it doesn’t drop below a certain point
this double deck is not for me. I could have a claustrophobic feeling. and if the second deck is lowered it will be difficult for me to get out from the lower deck. but overall good design though.

Claustrophobic I’d say with the double beds. You guys made it sound like making the bed was easy and you fast forwarded the process. It is a nice build, but the double bed idea looks very confining of a space.Oh, you guys keep on mentioning the word “custom” built. That just only means that someone is building it to your specs, which is really not a big deal as long as you get paid for building something?

I don't know a lot about the happy Jack beds, my big question is, can there be 2 different settings for the bed. A higher setting for when I have my grandkids and a lower setting for when it's just me. Truly because I'm lazy and in process of starting to plan now. I'm a nurse and on my 12 hr days I don't care about the table, or cooking just a shower and bed.
