      thank you!! honestly, i get you - typing sounds are so satisfying... but I always end up cutting out most of the clips just because I feel like they're boring to watch 😭

    I love your videos it motivates me to study❤ , quick question I thought your major is computer engineering? can computer engineers be software engineers?

    • @e_velog
      @e_velog  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, of course! Computer engineering is also programming, just at a lower level. However, I mainly do software development on the side, so for me it was only natural to get a software engineering internship :)

    i have my graduation exam in a few days and after that i'd need to decide on a major for uni. comp engineering is my main interest rn but i fear i might be too dumb for it😭 ive only learned the basics of basics in coding and i honestly enjoyed it (only the introduction stuff) do you suggest me to take it?

    • @e_velog
      @e_velog  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      honestly, if you are interested in it, i'd say go for it! worst case you can always change your mind later down the line. i think comp eng is nice because it is a very flexible major. unlike software engineering/computer science, there's usually a lot of lower level programming involved in comp eng programs, which means that you can end up working in a ton of different fields (ex.: robotics, software development, avionics, etc.). i'm pretty sure you're a lot smarter than you think and i have no doubt you can succeed in this major!
      good luck with your exam; you got this! 🫶🏻

      @@e_velog OH ALSO do i need higher maths for learning comp engineering? i don't enjoy alot of maths 😭

    • @e_velog
      @e_velog  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes of course. I'm currently working as a software engineering intern, while the other interns in my team have graduated in computer science and software engineering. This goes to show that they can all lead to the same careers. What will be important when it comes to finding a job will be the projects you work on outside of school - if software development is what you want to do, then just build apps/programs :)
      Regarding the maths requirements, it'll depend how your program is structured. In my school for example, every engineering major has a "core" group of classes, which does include Calculus 3 and Differentials. Software engineering students and computer engineering students therefore take them. On the other hand, computer science students don't need to take these two classes specifically, but they still need to take two advanced math classes from a list provided to them by the school. You really have to check the curriculums offered at your school though, because yours might have different requirements than mine.

    • @e_velog
      @e_velog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks! honestly, improving programming skills comes down to practice. you just gotta build lots of personal projects, and make sure you come up with your own ideas rather than follow along tutorials.

      Hey! I'm not sure exactly - I've had it for either 6 or 11 years lol. I bought it at Ikea and the Bleckberget desk chair looks exactly like it, however I remember paying $50 CAD for it and the Bleckberget chair is $189 CAD... It is comfy, but it's definitely not worth $189 imo
