Amazing video!👍👏 I just began my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They have an incredible range of digital comics for every genre, including the hard to find ones. Lifetime updates too!😁

Anything I bought as a kid in the 90s. I had the worst instincts and everything I thought would be valuable turned out to be something no one wants. I enjoyed reading them at least!

I think you need to be the Captain Carrot spokesperson; You can really sell that Carrot! So, underrated comics for me (obviously) are all the Robin first appearances (since Jason Todd). Robin is central to Batman's story in general, and Nightwing, Redhood, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne are all major DC characters. -Aside, I Joined up again as member for your channel, happy to pay for that cup of coffee each month. Love the channel, James. Keep on hunting :)

The early issues of Rex the Wonder Dog are expensive (sometimes very much so) and hard to find outside of ragged or lower grade copies. I assume you put it on your list because (non-GA) comic collectors often don't know about it. I'd add Golden Age Phantom Stranger, too, which is even MORE pricey.

The Green Lantern Corps run by Steve Englehart is criminally underrated. Besides introducing my favorite GL Kilowog, what other comic features a talking space-squirrel forming an unlikely friendship w/ somekinda fastidious alien Squidward after a flux in the time-space continuim makes everyone on Squirrel Homeworld forget he ever existed? Buckwild plots mixed with heartfelt and often complex relationships makes it feel like Guardians of the Galaxy...only decades earlier and at a fraction of the price!

DC comics Presents #52, First Ambush Bug. This character was essentially the 4th wall-breaking weird prototype for the Joe Kelly Deadpool (the one we all know...not the one who showed up in the early 90s). 9.8s are sub-200 and the character is not particularly popular for essentially being Deadpool before Deadpool (just not a merc).

As for comics that I always wonder why they're not more valuable...the Daredevil Born Again story (#227-#233) and pretty much all of the first Ultimate Spider-Man series (sure, they're not "keys," but they're sooo good.)

This may be a hot take but I’m going to say Star Wars #1 is underrated as a comic book key. George Lucas initially approached comic book companies to publish a Star Wars comic book prior to the film's release as a means for publicity meaning that the first time people ever laid eyes on the franchise was in a comic book. Star Wars comics have been around as long as the movies but doesn’t get the same love. It’s the first public encounter of the entire multibillion IP. I’m surprise that SW #1 doesn’t have more value because of that.

Star Wars #1 was reprinted ad nauseum after the movie took off so it's not a rare book. Plus, there was also the novel! As a fan of the comic, I strive to collect issues 11 to 37 as a complete run! Archie Goodwin and Carmine Infantino produced a wild series!

It did, however, include crisis aftermath: the spectre 1, which is when Crispus Allen becomes the new spectre and The spectre 22 first published Alex Ross cover art for DC. @@MintHunterComics well, update: looking through it there's only a single Simpsons strip with krusty and sideshow bob, so maybe first official Simpsons comic technically but I was thinking a regular style comic book with the characters. But still lol definitely worth the $7 for the Springfield shopper alone. Also there's a Hey Arnold comic strip below the Simpsons one. I've gotta look into whether that's first Hey Arnold or not.

Adventure Comics 283, 1st appearance of both General Zod and the Phantom Zone. Midgrade copies of Superboy 68 (1st Bizarro) are around $1k, and midgrade copies of Action Comics 242 (1st Brainiac) are $2k+. But a midgrade copy of Adventure 283 can be had for under $500. Given how much Zod has been in the public eye (in how many movies/TV series has he appeared since Superman II?) relative to the other two, I don't get it.

      "What's that, Hammer? A silencer?"
"No, it's a little invention of my own; I call it a loud-en-er."

Spectre 54 definitely seems to have increased in value as I've seen a few ungraded copies where the seller is trying to get $100+ which I think is crazy.

Static Shock comics are underrated; in my area I never find any milestone comics in the back issues bins.
