Anything I bought as a kid in the 90s. I had the worst instincts and everything I thought would be valuable turned out to be something no one wants. I enjoyed reading them at least!

I think you need to be the Captain Carrot spokesperson; You can really sell that Carrot! So, underrated comics for me (obviously) are all the Robin first appearances (since Jason Todd). Robin is central to Batman's story in general, and Nightwing, Redhood, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne are all major DC characters. -Aside, I Joined up again as member for your channel, happy to pay for that cup of coffee each month. Love the channel, James. Keep on hunting :)

James you are by far the most knowledgeable person online about comics easily. It just seems you put more into your work than anyone else does, from many determining factors.
I look forward to coming by your store, since i was raised in NJ, and lived in Lawrenceville for years.😊
This channel gives more than it gets. That is why a comic fan, others can learn so much here, especially if they are new to the hobby.

The early issues of Rex the Wonder Dog are expensive (sometimes very much so) and hard to find outside of ragged or lower grade copies. I assume you put it on your list because (non-GA) comic collectors often don't know about it. I'd add Golden Age Phantom Stranger, too, which is even MORE pricey.

Besides introducing my favorite GL Kilowog, what other comic features a talking space-squirrel forming an unlikely friendship w/ somekinda fastidious alien Squidward after a flux in the time-space continuim makes everyone on Squirrel Homeworld forget he ever existed? Buckwild plots mixed with heartfelt and often complex relationships makes it feel like Guardians of the Galaxy...only decades earlier and at a fraction of the price!

DC comics Presents #52, First Ambush Bug. This character was essentially the 4th wall-breaking weird prototype for the Joe Kelly Deadpool (the one we all know...not the one who showed up in the early 90s). 9.8s are sub-200 and the character is not particularly popular for essentially being Deadpool before Deadpool (just not a merc).

I picked up a lot of 40 spectre comics from the 80’s -2000’s for less than a dollar per book and i was hoping that the terrific book was there but i was not that Lucky. It did, however, include crisis aftermath: the spectre 1, which is when Crispus Allen becomes the new spectre and The spectre 22 first published Alex Ross cover art for DC. So i did get my moneys worth but i sure wanted to have the first appearance of the second Mr Terrific.

Adventure Comics 283, 1st appearance of both General Zod and the Phantom Zone. Midgrade copies of Superboy 68 (1st Bizarro) are around $1k, and midgrade copies of Action Comics 242 (1st Brainiac) are $2k+. But a midgrade copy of Adventure 283 can be had for under $500. Given how much Zod has been in the public eye (in how many movies/TV series has he appeared since Superman II?) relative to the other two, I don't get it.

This may be a hot take but I’m going to say Star Wars #1 is underrated as a comic book key. George Lucas initially approached comic book companies to publish a Star Wars comic book prior to the film's release as a means for publicity meaning that the first time people ever laid eyes on the franchise was in a comic book. Star Wars comics have been around as long as the movies but doesn’t get the same love. It’s the first public encounter of the entire multibillion IP. I’m surprise that SW #1 doesn’t have more value because of that.

Star Wars #1 was reprinted ad nauseum after the movie took off so it's not a rare book. Plus, there was also the novel! As a fan of the comic, I strive to collect issues 11 to 37 as a complete run! Archie Goodwin and Carmine Infantino produced a wild series!

    Anyway my entries
Marvel Two in One..annual 7 such a incredible story, has all the heavy hitter Marvel heroes , it's like the Rocky movie on steroids
Other entry way in the 80's when kids still bought action figures. In late 80's there was the Super Powers action figure line of DC characters (which Todd McFarlane brought back) some figures you actually had to mail in to get. Apokolips Steppenwolf was one. When you ordered for character you got a flimsy record....with a short eery recording of Darkseid. Use to listen to in the dark while shining a light thru the Darkseid figure's red visor ban to make his eyes glow. That record got to be worth something?

I never understood how new teen titans 39 wasn't a bigger book. It's the last time we ever see dick Grayson as robin!!!!

This video can be the start of a new series. Silver/bronze/copper age comics with awesome covers, but undervalued!

This is correct. You be lucky to pull a raw from eBay for less than 100. 9.8? Well that’s 400-500

Sorry mate, I’m pretty positive Swamp Thing, not only in House of Secrets but also Swamp Thing 1 predate Supernatural Thrillers number 1. Maybe by only a few months but it was first.

I do agree teen titans from issue 26 and the next 20 following issues in the seventies are absolute classics becoming more adult focused
