    Similar to a recipe I use with breakfast sausage. Adding the stove top stuffing is a great idea. I was expecting that to go into the oven at the end. It's nice when the top is a little crispy.

    Looks delicious. I have a pretty good family recipe for homemade stuffing with sausage and fresh herbs. We make it every year, but my daughter doesn't like stuffing with bread. So I make her corn bread stuffing. I bet she would love this. She likes me chicken wild rice casserole. I cant wait to make this for the holiday and surprise my daughter. I'm also making your roasted brussel sprouts and roasted potatoes. Yum.

    I remember having this once with the rice. Most of the time my family used the bread crumbs but no rice. Also, chestnuts. You ever use that?

    • @ChefAnge
      @ChefAnge  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      No never. This is how my mom made it every year for as far back as I can remember. Chestnuts are more of a Christmas thing in my family.

    I’m trying this! Wondering how it would taste with chorizo or different type of sausage? Have you ever made it with anything other than sweet Italian?

    could this be make ahead the day before , and how would you suggest reheating it for the big dinner?

    • @ChefAnge
      @ChefAnge  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I think so. Rice might get sticky but I would drizzle a few drops of water on it and cover with foil and throw in the oven at a low warm temp for 20-30 min.

    Looks delicious! I’m going to make this for Thanksgiving. Just curious, is there anything I can substitute the stove top stuffing for?

    • @kimgauthier4309
      @kimgauthier4309 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could take bread and crust it use some seasoning that would work as long as you have some stock either chicken or turkey stock

    I'm glad someone else likes rice stuffing, for me bread stuffing is kind of gross. I have my own recipe for rice stuffing that is very different from this, most importantly I use good quality breakfast sausage and with some chopped walnuts and raisins besides the more common ingredients of onions, leeks, celery, carrots, garlic etc.

    • @ChefAnge
      @ChefAnge  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This stuffing is thanksgiving for me!

      @@ChefAnge It truly is a dish that can stand on it's own, though I like to stuff my bird as it infuses the stuffing with more turkey flavor. I don't use mushrooms in mine but sautee them seperately in butter with a little onion. Anyway, thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts on this and Happy Thanksgiving! I make stovetop separately for those who have to have a bread stuffing.

    Did you ever stuff a bird with it? I can imagine it being even better with the bird juices added to it, but people are scared to stuff birds these days. Great recipe, Chef.

      Not yet! Always just served like in the video. Prob would be awesome in the bird with all those drippings!

  • @13soap13

    YES! Regardless of any stuffing anyone makes, adding a box of stove top and a handful of cheese puts is way over the top. I wonder what a handful of fresh oysters would do? What you you think? I subscribed.

    This looks amazing! Please keep me in your prayers. I’m losing everything over not getting the vaccine. Thanksgiving is going to be hard this year. I’m struggling. Facing eviction. It’s only because of the kindness of strangers we still have our home. I’m a single mother with two autistic children. I was fired from my job of 13 years for not getting the vaccine I refused it because of my pre existing health conditions. I have lupus I’m in pain and take so many medications. I don’t know how I’m going to support my children. But I know God will provide. My own family has turned against me over my decision. I feel so alone. Please pray for my family

      I know life can seem overwhelming at times but no one is coming to save you. We all have to overcome our troubles with the time we have. You'll get to the other side of all this with work. One day at a time. One decision at a time. One meal at a time. One problem at a time. Keep going and never quit. Be strong and do it for your kids. We'll pray for you.
