Honestly for the Nintendo Switch you should’ve just asked for game recommendations.
If your goal was to play on your own NO ONE would’ve told you to buy party games like Mario Party, Mario Kart and Just Dance. These games are literally meant to be played with others, at a gathering or online.

Idk... I play AC sometimes but for me it's just a bit boring after a while. The fishing and digging are super frustrating because it's hard to aim exactly where you want to target.
And it's just a SUPER slow paced game in my opinion.
I still play it sometimes but I get a LOT more enjoyment out of other games, such as Legend of Zelda.

I didn’t use to play video games at all, until my husband bought a Switch and taught me how to play Zelda and OMG I got so addicted! There are several games nowadays that I love, you just gotta find the right game to you. The Mario games that you bought are more for playing with friends rather than by yourself.

There is a negative correlation between interest in kitchen appliance and gaming consoles. After a certain age, my interest also switched from games to panini machine, waffle maker, air fryer, instapot, fancy fridge, and super automatic espresso machine.😂
Edith I love my kitchen stuff, I actually have the same panini grill that she showed and I LOVE it. I do understand that video games are not for everyone, but I does seem that she went on the Switch vibe without much search. It’s a very expensive purchase, my husband has loved video games for years and years and he searched to see if there were enough games available on the Switch that he would wanna play before buying it.
To be fair Zelda is one of the greatest games ever made and the Switch game is stunning, good choice, I would buy a Switch just to play Zelda.

Animal crossing is worth the buy haha - I think the problem with the other games is that you have nothing to work towards to continue playing. A game like Animal crossing is designed to be played for a little bit each day and to work towards a goal - so honestly I would give it a try , you'll be hooked!
Your mistake with the nintendo switch, was buying the wrong games, u bought many multiplayer games, which is great for after quarantine, but quarantine is meant for single player games. So BOTW, Animal Crossing, etc. They would’ve all been great games to choose from.

Great video, Shelby! I totally understand why you haven't loved the Switch. Mario Kart and Mario Party are really not the best games for it, especially if you're playing by yourself. I know you aren't keen on spending more money on the Switch, but you *have* to at least try either Animal Crossing or Zelda. They are both in another league compared to the Mario games, and honestly those two games are the actual reason people buy the Nintendo Switch! It seems like we're going to be in quarantine a whole longer, and with how fun those games are it is *well* worth it for a measly $50/$60, now you already have the Nintendo Switch anyway!! Much love.
Ive been doing my dip nails over quarantine and i went ahead and bought all the SNS stuff and an electric nail drill and its been great probably like $130 all together but I wont be going to the nail salon anymore!

In case anyone else is curious about air fryer tech, they are essentially convection ovens that circulate air faster.
Try grilling the marks vertically then switching it horizontal you get a like cross pattern, tastes way better!!!

I bought a ukulele and used it three times which was a cheap fail. And I’ve probably spent $500 on Home Depot but that’s a ton of supplies, plants, building a raised garden bed and learning a new skill. It’s been interesting. Overall I’ve saved more than I’ve spent but definitely changed where I put my money 😂
I think my best quarantine purchases have been a new couch, desk, and ergonomic desk chair. My worst... probably the first desk I bought on a whim because I was tired of working at the dining table.. it turned out to be super small and uncomfortable and a total waste of $150..

I bought a Nintendo Switch as well and got animal crossing, but only about a week ago. I've heard reviews saying that the game is slow in the beginning and I agree with that. I don't have enough recipes to customize my island, I can't do any of the fun things I want to do, and every time I make any sort of upgrade to get my town going, I have to wait at least a day for it to be made. I've still been playing because I know I can't critique the game until I've gotten past the initial set-up but I can't help thinking that this is the most exciting the game will get; me running around doing random tasks for tom nook while collecting DIY recipes I hate and just waiting for the fun things I was promised would happen, to happen. I need someone to calm my nerves that the game is worth it!
My one impulse purchase I regret that I got since quarantine... The Nomatic X Peter McKinnon Travel and Camera Backpack...there is SO MANY reasons why I regret buying it....the one purchase I made since quarantine that I DON'T REGRET is the Apurture MC light as well as the larger Neewer 440 LED RGB Light Panel kit
literally takes me 2 minutes to divide money into (1) needs, (2) wants and (3) savings accounts when i get paid, it's really not that time-consuming at all in the long run if you work out your monthly expenditure and give yourself budgets for each account based on dividing your income into percentages like 50/30/20, or 40/30/30, whatever works for you, and I always round it up so there's a bit of room for movement, that way I always know much to put in each account on payday because I have predefined budgets but I usually end up with a bit extra at the end of each month. I do needs (rent/utilities/food/min. loan repayments), then wants (subscriptions/gas/car insurance/leisure), and whatever is left goes into savings, usually ~$150. And not every bill is the same week so if I need to borrow from my wants for something I haven't specifically budgeted for it doesn't affect being able to pay bills on time because more money goes in the following week and it always exceeds the weekly budget. I went from always being broke with a full-time job to always having access to something with this method. If you're confident with an app doing it for you and you live in a country where it's available go for it, my banking app is super efficient though, I just have to set calendar reminders for bills so I put the money in the account the day before, which is a temporary system until I get a credit card and just pay it later rather than worrying about missing a payment because the money is in the wrong account still.
Yeah the MIDI controller was a fail, you really need a digital piano like a Casio CDP135 or a Roland FP10, or at least a 61 key keyboard with velocity sensitive keys if you want to learn. MIDI controllers have terrible key action for learning the instrument. You purchase a controller, not an instrument. The desktop mic stand with the round weighted base is the next best thing to a professional studio arm that clamps to the desk, tripods don't hold the weight of large diaphragm microphones well.

My ex used to grill steaks on that panini maker and I bought the Cuisinart convection oven( not the air fryer)which was a huge game changer.

I purchased a movie projector and let me tell you GREAT INVESTMENT. Especially during this time, its something my friends and i can do outside and 6 feet apart. I'll send the amazon link if anyone is interested I 10/10 recommend. All you need is that and sheet (and a laptop to connect to the HDMI)

You can line your panini maker with parchment paper to keep it clean when making paninis with melted cheese.
Lots of peoples are selling their switch to saved for PS5 so don’t pay too much. Glass veg storage help keep it last longer. I need to find perfect one that stack easily in fridge.
Girl, I bought a Peloton during quarantine. It still hasn't arrived yet but I don't regret the purchase. Peloton is killing it during this pandemic and the wait time for one to be delivered is 7-9 weeks.

My 5 Worst Purchases During Quarantine: Plants (every one of them died slowly), $20 paper shredder (junk), a closet remodel (terrible carpentry from someone who does it for a living), cheapest air conditioning filters (the worst, might as well have used tissues), a Walmart pizza (gross).

I'm right there with you. I immediately starting buying things online especially with Unemployment money and after a month realized how bad some of the things I were buying. I did build a computer and bought everything through Amazon(that isn't a regret) but I also debated getting a Switch during the beginning phase of Quarantine
For the chair situation you're having, definitely invest in one around 200-300. It soooooooooo worth it. But also invest in a back pillow. I play video games almost 6 hours a day(the time just flies by I swear haha) and it's saved my back.
Dont mind, but i think you should buy more stuff from local businesses or other small businesses instead of amazon or other MNCs. It would help them a lot.
I'm glad I purchased the new (Good Gather) flour from Target. This spring was a transition challenge for King Arthur Flour to ship due to increased demand from everyone deciding they needed to learn to bake at home. I moved in March & I think my old place had a bad mold problem (along with maintenance staff that was okay with neglecting any concerns I had!) In my new place I have had a lot of success making bread & pizza from scratch (5 ingredient Culinary Institute of America's Lean dough recipe & King Arthur Flour's Pizza dough) using AP flour or Whole wheat. Sometimes a mix of both. I have not tried to get Spelt floor, but my initial bread loafs where made with some old spelt flour I feared was on the way out. The lesson was the cheap all purpose flour is good enough. Bread flour is great, but AP flour is a great utility player. I still need to perfection my pastry technique. I think the summer will be time to play with pie, tart & other pastry techniques. Then see if there is a difference between AP flour & pastry flour.

Shelby, For mic stands I highly recommend the brand Konig & Meyer known as K&M, They are made in Germany and while not the cheapest perform great. I've been in a band for years and only use K&M stands for mics and keyboards. Learning to play keyboards is a great idea. Lots of good choices under $400 that have real size piano keys. Something with 76 keys will work. 88 keys are what real pianos have, but I play with a 76 note in the band and I'm fine with it. Casio makes some great keyboards such as Privia line of digital pianos. Love watching your vids.
I bought a switch lite ($199) for animal crossing and it was my best purchase of quarantine hands down! (Should I get Zelda? I feel like getting a switch for just one game is a little crazy 🙃) But I DO completely agree that buying the marked up switch plus money for several games is super pricey!!
I have a heated eyelash curler for lifting my eyelashes. It takes just a triple A battery which lasts a while, and definitely helps.

A good saving goal, cash out one month's worth of rent per monthly income from your bank in one dollar bills. Physical cash keeps you from quick spending and you are less likely to carry hundreds or thousands of one dollar bills around when you go out. You'll have back-up cash should this crazy current situation we're all in go crazier like money, food, gas and/or power shortages happen

I regret nothinnnnggg!! No but really I don't regret anything I bought during quarantine. It's really rare if I buy things on impulse and if I do it's clothing. With clothing I already pretty much know exactly what I want / like / need. Plus can't really go wrong with loungewear and leggings....

Switch real reason is to play Fortnite with your friends. If you're playing by yourself, then it's like playing a game on your phone. Also, many people will transfer the play on the big screen.
