Lol These companies need to start sending you their advent calendars, though because you could go bankrupt buying them all 😞💗 I’m praying that the weather improves, that the damage is minimal, and that your flooding issues end. Like I said, I don’t care if you’re showing these until next January, I love these so much! So take care of you and your business, we will be here when things improve 💗

Sulfates are perfectly fine to use on your hair as long as you aren't trying to maintain color! Sodium lauryl sulfate helps give a nice lather, but it can strip color out if you dye your hair. As far as I know, that's the only reason you would want sulfate free products, other than having an allergy or something 🤷♀️
Added note: sulfates can also be drying, but as long as you don't already have dry hair/scalp and don't use shampoo with sulfates every day, it shouldn't have too much of an effect!
Yeah SLS sensitivity (not necessarily allergy) is actually common. It's a big trigger for dermatitis. It's one of the first things a derm will tell you to avoid if you're having a sudden, mysterious reaction on your skin. You can use it with no problems then WHAM dermatitis. Speaking from experience, unfortunately. If your skin is sensitive or damaged SLS exposure can make it worse because it's so stripping.
Just like in skincare, with hair care there are ingredients that you have to just be mindful of your hair type with and also how often you use it and what products you use with it. So if you do have build up, something likes sulfate shampoo used monthly with super hydrating products following… could help keep a scalp balanced
Lol yes the benetint story is true. For those who don’t know, Benefit cosmetics founders Jean and Jane Ford’s first product was Benetint in the 70’s. They created it for a neighbor using roses and boiling water. The interesting part of the story is that their neighbor was a stripper that wanted her areolas to stand out when she was on stage, because she thought it would help her make more tips. So, the Ford twins decided to try to help her out. I think it was first called Rosy-tint, but I my memory is not 100% about that.
old nursing trick for headaches. take your pain med. lay down and put real tea bags on your eyes and a very damp washcloth over you eyes/tea bags. rest for 45 minutes to an hour. the chemicals in the tea and blocking out the light helps the pain meds work SO MUCH better. it's worked on my migraines.
I think this was a really great calendar honestly. Sure, there were a few days that were let downs (nail sticks, teeny thing of lip balm, small Charlotte Tillbury), but other days made up for it with full sized items PLUS that great day 25 that was multiple items, including a pallet
At this rate she’ll be opening advent calendars until Valentine’s Day and honestly I’m here for it. 😂 Don’t feel weird about posting advent calendars in January! We want to see them!!!

With the eye mask, it really doesn’t have a strong smell. I love those. I have rebought several times and it helps so much with eye pain and headaches/migraines. I love them so much. Please try it! They also make them without a fragrance and those are just as good. I go back and forth on the ones that I buy. They usually last about 30 minutes and heat up like a hand warmer. They do not get hot enough to hurt your eyes so no worries there. Loved your video!
That Mario Badescu spray is actually amazing! They listened to all the critiques, and they released that one that doesn’t have any alcohol or harsh fragrance. It really is refreshing and hydrating!
I keep the aloe one in my car for hot days. Even when it's the middle of the summer here, I can spray that on my face for instant cooling. It also helps the car smell fresh as an added bonus ;-)
I LOVE the bonus calendar. It fills my heart. I had a Boston terrier until a year ago. He made it to 17.5. So, seeing those beautiful boys make me happy! 🐾❤️
WOW!! I got the ASOS Calendar (live in Australia) but I think there must have been a UK and US version this year. Usually it’s all the same I think. I was sitting there thinking… wait… I didn’t get that? Saw the Elemis moisturiser and was like I DIDN’T GET THAT EITHER! What a great surprise so early on! The US version looked amazing compared with the rest of world / UK one. Amazing haul of great products!
Hey Alexandria, Sulfates are a very intense hair cleanser. They remove dirt and oil but they work so well they can leave your hair brittle and dried out and even strip out your hair color if you arent careful. So it's nice to use in your hair but only every once in awhile. Sad I missed out on this calendar. I would have loved to recieve everything in this one!
You absolutely COULD pull that lipstick colour off, you'd look fantastic with it, you're just not "brave" enough or you don't like the look, but many of us would find it gorgeous on you 🥰🥰🥰

I called my grandpa pawpaw too 🥺 we used to get him hats and shirts with pawpaw stitched on them. My aunt had me a teddy bear made out of one of his shirts when he passed ❤️

I always break out the basic algebra for these things because it helps me understand the way the numbers relate to each other so I know I'm doing it right. But basically you do a little math (ugh) and the total value is supposedly $412.50. 24/100 = 99/??? 24*??? = 99*100 ??? = 412.5
Man, I empathize with the headache that never ends. I managed to avoid it for three years, but I rang in 2023 with the vid. And it sucks. 😭 I've been quarantining by myself so I was so excited to see this video!
I used to have these mild headaches that lasted for a couple of days and painkillers just dampened it, never made it go away. Went to the doctors when I had one and the doctor felt up my neck and realized those teeny tiny muscled connecting my neck to my skull were buggered all to hell. Now I've got permanent muscle relaxant prescription to sort it out when it goes off again. There's plenty of tiny thing muscled on the skull and face . I've also got messed up lower neck and shoulder muscles so there's that. And my back. That muscle relaxant prescription has been so good.
I don't think I'm really a Hair Person(TM) but I've been getting into haircare a lot recently and the community is actually pretty divided on sulphates - for some people it turns their hair super dry, and for others it's the only thing that can really clean their hair properly. It's very much "different strokes for different folks", but I think the general consenus is pretty much what you said, about only using it occasionally (once a week or even less?) for type 1 and 2 hair (straight and wavy) but then for curly and coily hair they should probably be avoided unless you know they work for you (which is unlikely, but not impossible). I have wavy medium-thickness hair (probably 2b?) and sulphate shampoos feel kinda drying, but sulphate-free ones make my hair greasy twice as fast, so... I'm still searching the the perfect product I guess! It's definitely overwhelming diving into the haircare community and being bombarded with all sorts of things you've never heard of before.
I don’t remember the details, but my hair stylist told me that some hair types need sulphates and that using sulphate-free shampoos actually makes their hair worse (weighed down, dry, oily, etc.)
I have thick but fine hair so with the thicker leave in conditioner sprays I like to spray the middle to end sections of the hair when I get out of the shower, then I brush it with a wet brush, do the scrunch and squeeze for the curls. Hopefully this helps with the Dr. paw paw spray!
The only thing that helped my sinus pressure headache was Sudafed, that stuff worked miracles for me. I had a headache for over a week, nothing helped but Sudafed. Hope you feel better!!
Did not finish the video, got to the ordinary shampoo. Licensed cosmetologist here! So that's a clarifying shampoo, it is NOT for regular use! Clarifying shampoo's are supposed to be used maybe once a week but no more than that. It's supposed to help cleans the scalp and any product, oil, and dirt build up on your scalp and hair that normal shampoo doesn't always get off. Always go in with your normal shampoo after a clarifying shampoo because clarifying shampoo can be very drying on your hair. I also have very fine hair, and hairloss problems, but I also have extremely oily hair. I use a clarifying shampoo maybe once every other week, or once a month when I feel like my scalp is feeling icky or really itchy. I'm really interested in how that particular product will work because I use some ordinary products and I have liked them.
Update: I finished the video now. Olaplex, as professional: not a fan. steps 1 and 2 are nice for deep conditioning treatments and hair treatments, but putting into color, and the hair products in general not a fan. I tried no. 3 once and it left my hair very weird feeling. Some people really like them, but I also think that the olaplex is also geared more towards people with more damaged hair, or people who lighten their hair a lot so they need that extra strength that olaplex claims to give. They're also products you're not supposed to use all the time either, just a once a week kind of thing for the most part. And I think the more we get into the videos the better the calendars are getting?? progressively getting better...but I could be totally wrong and the next one could be a huge flop and make you extremely frustrated so..... *knock on wood* lets hope I didn't jinx it.

I feel like asos is the only company that understood the concept of an advent calender by giving a big surprise at the end with a bunch of little goodies.
I got this advent calendar for my sister, but she didn't realize it was an advent calendar so she started opening them, which was fine by me. I hit the site when there was a 20% discount so I saved a few dollars. I thought it was a good deal and a good variety of products.

😮 I’m in Australia and got this advent calendar too. I am so surprised at the different products compared to mine. Last years one had the same products in the one you got and the one I got.
Even the box is slightly different - ours seemed like thicker cardboard with the doors opening slightly differently, and had 3 layers instead of 2. 🤔 The last 2 years the ASOS calendar has been the same in the UK/Australia and the US, so I wonder why it’s different this year. I wondered if it was because of commercial licensing and agreements, but some brands are the same but the products are different (the facial oils from BYBI).
That ordinary shampoo would be really good for those who are dealing with scabbing issues on their head due to psoriasis & etc. Also it's really good for those who use a shit ton of products in their hair and need a good deep cleansing..
I don't know if you like lush or not, but I just found out they have an advent calander and I feeling a lush advent calander might be one of the few calenders that are actually worth it.
This seems like the best one by far. I'm not sure if I'd try it (my only advent calendar is filled with cheese), but if I bought it, I'd feel like I got a good value.

I consider primer a make up product! It’s the first step in my make up routine, and I would never use it unless I were putting make up on.

I don't think I'm really a Hair Person(TM) but I've been getting into haircare a lot recently and the community is actually pretty divided on sulphates - for some people it turns their hair super dry, and for others it's the only thing that can really clean their hair properly.
It's very much "different strokes for different folks", but I think the general consenus is pretty much what you said, about only using it occasionally (once a week or even less?) for type 1 and 2 hair (straight and wavy) but then for curly and coily hair they should probably be avoided unless you know they work for you (which is unlikely, but not impossible).
I have wavy medium-thickness hair (probably 2b?) and sulphate shampoos feel kinda drying, but sulphate-free ones make my hair greasy twice as fast, so... I'm still searching the the perfect product I guess! It's definitely overwhelming diving into the haircare community and being bombarded with all sorts of things you've never heard of before.
While you're searching for the perfect shampoo: could you maybe mix two shampoos together to get the right amount of cleanse for you? 🥺

I don’t remember the details, but my hair stylist told me that some hair types need sulphates and that using sulphate-free shampoos actually makes their hair worse (weighed down, dry, oily, etc.)
I hate sulphate free shampoo, it doesn't feel like it's cleaning anything

I have thick but fine hair so with the thicker leave in conditioner sprays I like to spray the middle to end sections of the hair when I get out of the shower, then I brush it with a wet brush, do the scrunch and squeeze for the curls. Hopefully this helps with the Dr. paw paw spray!
Primer is skincare because it is prepping your skin to help with the longevity of makeup. Love the advent calendar’s! Keep em’ comin!
The only thing that helped my sinus pressure headache was Sudafed, that stuff worked miracles for me. I had a headache for over a week, nothing helped but Sudafed. Hope you feel better!!
Did not finish the video, got to the ordinary shampoo. Licensed cosmetologist here! So that's a clarifying shampoo, it is NOT for regular use! Clarifying shampoo's are supposed to be used maybe once a week but no more than that. It's supposed to help cleans the scalp and any product, oil, and dirt build up on your scalp and hair that normal shampoo doesn't always get off. Always go in with your normal shampoo after a clarifying shampoo because clarifying shampoo can be very drying on your hair. I also have very fine hair, and hairloss problems, but I also have extremely oily hair. I use a clarifying shampoo maybe once every other week, or once a month when I feel like my scalp is feeling icky or really itchy. I'm really interested in how that particular product will work because I use some ordinary products and I have liked them.
Update: I finished the video now. Olaplex, as professional: not a fan. steps 1 and 2 are nice for deep conditioning treatments and hair treatments, but putting into color, and the hair products in general not a fan. I tried no. 3 once and it left my hair very weird feeling. Some people really like them, but I also think that the olaplex is also geared more towards people with more damaged hair, or people who lighten their hair a lot so they need that extra strength that olaplex claims to give. They're also products you're not supposed to use all the time either, just a once a week kind of thing for the most part.
And I think the more we get into the videos the better the calendars are getting?? progressively getting better...but I could be totally wrong and the next one could be a huge flop and make you extremely frustrated so..... *knock on wood* lets hope I didn't jinx it.
For the pawpaw conditioner, it'll still work just fine if you thin it out with some water and shake it really well

I got this advent calendar for my sister, but she didn't realize it was an advent calendar so she started opening them, which was fine by me. I hit the site when there was a 20% discount so I saved a few dollars. I thought it was a good deal and a good variety of products.
I definitely count primer as makeup. I have a full skincare routine but I only wear makeup a few times a year, and that's the only time I use primer.

😮 I’m in Australia and got this advent calendar too. I am so surprised at the different products compared to mine. Last years one had the same products in the one you got and the one I got.
Even the box is slightly different - ours seemed like thicker cardboard with the doors opening slightly differently, and had 3 layers instead of 2. 🤔
The last 2 years the ASOS calendar has been the same in the UK/Australia and the US, so I wonder why it’s different this year. I wondered if it was because of commercial licensing and agreements, but some brands are the same but the products are different (the facial oils from BYBI).
That ordinary shampoo would be really good for those who are dealing with scabbing issues on their head due to psoriasis & etc. Also it's really good for those who use a shit ton of products in their hair and need a good deep cleansing..
I don't know if you like lush or not, but I just found out they have an advent calander and I feeling a lush advent calander might be one of the few calenders that are actually worth it.

Tension headaches create that pulling/tight sensation. Have hubby check your back for knots, you’ve probably got some good ones.
