Yeah I think the early QC issues and the fact that other than the strike pro, most their kits never tried competing with any flagship drums. Would definitely like to see something new between the price of this and the dm10 kit
i bought a strike pro module a couple years ago. i loved it but it stopped turning on 1 year and 3 days after i purchased it. It had a one year warranty. i attempted to contact alesis by phone or email. I never heard back from anyone.
Glad to see Alesis finally taking their edrum offerings seriously. It's about time someone brings a display with that kind of flexibility and then loads it with a BFD brain! Nice work, Alesis!
I am seriously impressed with this kit. I have heard some reports of slow load times (not that's ever even a problem for me, I use one kit live) and some triggering issues. I should think some firmware updates will sort that. But, I have a mimic and what this does over my kit is more on board effects, massive stacking options. But it has less inputs and outputs than the mimic plus I have my own personal Tama kit as fully functioning instruments on my mimic (thanks to the Slate guys) But... that aside, this is a great kit and module.
Hi Jamie, Could you please make a video of the kit off? Meaning how it sounds just hitting the mesh? I know it seems dumb but my reason for getting an e-kit is so I don't bother others in the house with drumming noise.
I love this kit but learning the module is confusing. You need to do a video on how to specifically program the module for a custom kit. All the videos out now are just promoting the drum set. I could read the manual but easier for me to learn from video.
This kit may be the best offering from Alesis, and it does fix most of the problems with the Strike Pro Se, but I think it still needs work and the next kit will be better.
Farewell, Roland. The anticipation for this moment has been years in the making. It echoes a similar experience I had when Pioneer introduced all-in-one controllers for DJs. At that time, we shifted our allegiance, opting for the more cost-effective solution that still offered top-notch features, not to mention the added convenience in transportation. This decision, like the one I'm making now in favor of Alesis electronic drums, reflects a commitment to great value and practicality without compromising on quality.
But they do compromise quality , they had a ton of quality issues with the Strike Pro now this seems to have a great module ( apart from the lag and the latency) but their pads and cymbals are still way behind Roland.
Better definitely being subjective. For the price I would say this is much better value, but comparing this with the DW kit isn’t realistic. They’re kind of geared towards 2 different types of electronic drummers. That being said, I’d definitely take the Alesis over the DW.
Having played both, no. The Alesis sounds and looks good but it’s not even in the same league as the DW. Alesis continues to have quality issues, and they don’t talk about the fact that this kit takes literal days of tinkering and dialing to get it playable. That’s not even to mention silly amateurish mistakes like there’s leftover voices from the recording sessions left in some of the samples. This video is a sponsored infomercial. Watch edrum workshop’s review for something honest
@@christine3043 I guess I’ll stick with SD3. Thought about selling my A2E to get this kit, but by experience selling a real drum set for an electronic is a downgrade.
@ 1:36 it's not true that magnetic hi-hat controllers have never been done before. The 2Box Drumit employed a magnetic (Hall effect sensor) sensor 15 years ago, and before that, DDrum. It's about a 20-year-old application of Hall effect sensors.
Playing on low volume can’t hear HH, and can’t pump volume for it. And there’s a HH asterisk setting causes Base Drum to falsely sound. Kit did not or doesn’t come with program manual
100% bro! Agree! I got a demo kit and the module was wonky asF! They told me these kinks would get fixed via software updates! But it only got buggier!! Still rockin the strike pro SE tho! I still consider THAT the alesis flagship.. the strata is over hyped and the gear (triggers, pads) is greatly downgraded from the strike! If you really REALLY want a alesis kit, get the strike pro SE while its still being offered as new unit..
How many extra ports is there on the module to add extra crash cymbals? And double guys sell extra crash cymbal’s because I can’t find on the website. Thanks
Alesis "customer service" here in the UK is non existent. Be warned. Any post sale issues and you are on your own. I have spent more time repairing my DM10 MKII Pro than I have playing it. Yes this was when it was still under warranty!!
About fuhkin time something was uploaded to this dead channel. Whose in charge of the drum dept, and or social media? 4 months without an upload is unacceptable (specifically for this company) in todays day and age of social media, and this company knows better.
The kit is super disaster , tons of issues , Tom's and base drum not triggering , module freeze for 30 sec and you can't do anything, the hi hat suddenly play ony close , fix when you restart the module . Some of the beats on base and Tom's missing . When you turn the reverb in ambiance the hihat sound will be play on close hihat . Tons of crosstalk issues , if you change the sensetivaty and threshold you need to play louder. If you make 1/8 base drum beat with the ride with the same beat , the basedrum dissappear at all . My kit is 1 week old and upgraded to 1.1
It SUCKS that you went from 8 Outputs so you can record multitracks directly to your daw to ONLY having merely 4!!!😡 ALESIS WHY you Messed up this module 💩
Been a fan of Roland for decades but THIS Alesis kit is gorgeous !
Always loved my Roland kits and was a big fan, but this seems to be The ULTIMATE dream kit for me. ❤
Sounds great!! And looks like a drummer that HIT the drums, like acoustic drums. Rimshot dynamics sounds great!!
Man I hear such mixed things by Alesis electric kits but god damn this looks and sounds really cool.

When is Roland going to take notes and update its modules like this ?
This kit may be the best offering from Alesis, and it does fix most of the problems with the Strike Pro Se, but I think it still needs work and the next kit will be better.
hope to win it on the contest, she is perfect !!
That sounds great!
Better sounds than Roland's
The fact that this is the half the price of an equivalent Roland kit and sounds so much better is crazy.

We need a pro version with 12 xlr outputs
Seems way better than the DW kit and is less than half the price.
Haha that DW kit is such a gimmick 😂

When can we get the module separately?
...and does it support Audio over USB
Alesis says it has no plans to release the module as a stand alone purchase, so it’ll be a long time even if they do.

Warming to all!! Do not buy this kit I purchased it and is super defective. Reply for more info
What’s your take on it? Looking into this or a Roland

@@garycruz-wk5hcfrom what I've seen you should be able to calibrate the drums and cymbals so that they don't interfere with eachother.

In a few months will we see a Strata Prime Pro with deeper toms and a fourth cymbal?
There are connections available for 2 more cymbals and 1 more pad.
Sweetwater sells an expansion pack or the kit with the extra cymbals and pad.
Sounds good. Can you please review the Nux dp-2000 next.
Man like Luke 🤘🙌
This vid just makes me realise how much damage those morning croissants are doing to me 😢
Alesis came out of nowhere unannounced and will eat Roland alive with this beast!!!!
All well and good but they screwed up and did not provide a way to output all the individual channels to multi-track record. A real bummer for me.
All that I wanted to see on an EDrum 15 years ago. It's about time.
Roland samples are too ...... electeonic...
Im wanting to know how good the hi-hat is... How does it compare with the roland VH-14D...?

You can add one more drum and two more cymbals. Sweet water has a bundle package available for them extra pieces.
Can i buy only the modul?

Ahhhhhh yesss copying the Apple model 😟
Cymbals sound like garbage....
My Alesis Strike scared me off Alesis... Until I played this instore.
The heft and build quality throughout is apparent. Except for the rack mounts.
