The lack of lightning and blue shells in nothing short of a miracle. All 16 races while being in 1st the whole time, I don't think that I ever went all 16 without one of those happening at least once.

They aren’t actual skips if they are intentional, they are corner cuts, which arent bugs, it’s like just going trough grass with a mushroom

I've got a quesion for you. How do you prevent your n64 controllers joystick to wear out the way they do ? This is the single most frustrating thing about playing mario kart for me, every controller's joystick these days seems to be at least a bit wobbly/unresponsive. How do you deal with this?
I prefer to use a bad controller. Just have to buy tons of them

Can someone please explain, or link an explainer video, about the trick right in the beginning when you get the item box twice and it boosts you permanently? I can't find anything about this trick. Maybe I don't know the name of it or something.
It’s not really a trick. The star item makes you invincible and go faster. I just keep restarting until I get lucky and get 2 in a row.

Not necessarily, but it saves a few seconds and everything helps.

Is there a way to always get a star on the first item box on Luigi Raceway, or do you just have to keep starting over till you get one? I’ve tried playing this category, but always get discouraged cause I’ll start over like 10-20 times before I get a star.
Best chance of a star is 7th and 8th place where it's a 30% chance. If you aren't doing WR attempts, there's really no reason to go for it though

The ranking in the bottom left doesn’t doesn’t update every frame for some reason. If I was using the progress HUD view, you’d see it change though

This is Grand Prix mode. Time trials is a different category. Also time trials is 100cc
how come you restart the console before the times come on screen at the end of each cup?
I believe it's because the split ends as soon as the finish line is crossed. He is timing it so it doesnt matter if it shows up on the game clock. Resetting is necessary to skip the cut scenes for the first 3 cups.
I was never the fastest at this game but I could drop those bombs on the real power ups so close that everyone was afraid to take them when I played.

Quick question. How did you get a Star power up when you are in first place? In Koopa Troopa Beach you Got one, and that is not possible if you are in first place, how you did it?

In this game I think it’s actually possible to drift forever all the way around Cooper trooper beach because your character can drift left and right and when you’re drifting you can turn the other way so I think it actually could be possible because I saw somebody do it for like half a minute

Is this the real world record? I can beat this. What kind of setup do I need to proof? I've got a PAL (europe) N64.
Is it required that my controller input actions are getting tracked? Or is it enough to film myself playing on a beamer? Thx in advance for any response 😀
It is still the record, yes. You'd need an NTSC console to even do an attempt though. PAL runs at a slower framerate which would make it impossible to beat this time (keep in mind this is the no skips category).

Why does this record need to include time between races and selecting new cups to race?Seems like someone could have better race times overall, but could take more time between selecting the cups and still not have the best record. Why not just film playing all the cups back to back and only used the combined race times from the game to determine the record?

Lightning is very rare and CPUs don’t throw shells in MK64
Why not use the huge rainbow road shortcut?

CPUs don't throw shells and lightning is a somewhat low chance but happens once maybe in half the runs
