The revenant does basically nothing to those tough Terrormorphs when compared to the fire dmg that the grendel does.
Fun fact about sniper-y rifles... when crouched, at pretty extreme range, you can get sneak attack hits on a target that's actively firing at you. I suspect there's a distance limit on what counts as "visible" to the AI. Also fun: If you like planetary surveys, you'll have seen the Biome Complete that basically means you've scanned all the flora/fauna on the current map. But, when selecting a new landing spot, there's a % indicator... that tells you if there's anything there you haven't fully scanned yet. If it's 100%, there's nothing new to learn. It's a nice feature if you're in a completion-y mood after taking a little time to smell the acid-spitting roses. And the XP is always welcome (plus the credits from selling surveys).
I was WONDERING what that % was for! Thanks for that tidbit. Hmm, I now am wondering if that and other little known info resides in the in-game Help Index. Will have to check next time I play.
I've been religiously watching your Starfield coverage. You, sir, are awesome. I'm more the pistol type, so until I get some crazy legendary, I've been relying on a poison modded epic Urban Eagle. I do like my DOT damage. I tend to use laser weapons when I use something else. That Ikande pistol and Ember might be my jam so I'll work on that. Thanks a bunch! 🙏
The weapon tier is way more important than the perks that come with rare/epic/legendary variants. By the time you're looting advanced weapons on a regular basis the perks literally become meaningless because the weapons are putting out so much damage. I looted a common variant of an advanced tier Urban Eagle, and immediately started one shotting almost every mob I came up against. Up until that point I had been dumping most of my credits into replenishing my ammo because every mob was a bullet sponge even against my mostly fully modded out legendary weapons I'd been carrying around forever because even though they were legendary they were almost all the lowest tier base weapon with maybe one calibated tier.
@@Rowgue51Thanks for the pointers, I've noticed that when I switched not long ago. So far I'm good with most human mobs, it's the Ashta and such that ruin my day, lol.
So, I found a pistol, nothing special not even rare that does 253 damage. It’s a Regulator that was a random find during the Gang quests on Neon. I’m only level 14, so I was confused on how this pistol is doing so much damage… Sure enough, it’s damn near one-shot killing everything. Uses .43 MI ammo. I added some mods to it after I found it, for even more damage, including the mod that gives it electrical damage, and it now also destroys robots. It’s been my go-to ever since lol
You can re cycle the Mantis armor stats/ Quicksave BEFORE YOU OPEN THE CASE , and then load and see what you can get . My favorite is -75% to O2 consumption when encumbered , and2x -25% O2 consumption . I carry over 1000kg on a level 8 character and never had issues runing out of stamina. It makes the game so much more enjoyable . Now if i can only convince myself not to pick up everything and worry more about progressing lol
@berserkirclaws107 I never notice because I literally pick up everything clean then proceed to keep one unique item in the bottomless stash in fallout and skyrim. I tired with starfield but the limits inventory makes me not want to collect everything. Yes I'm aware of the safe box with infinite space, but I'm lazy go there. I don't want to deal with multiple loading screens. ( playing exclusively on my steam deck )
I might be mistaken, but I believe unique/named weapons do have higher tier versions depending on what level you are when you encounter them. They just don't have the "Refined", etc. in their names.
The “Smartgun” at the UC store is good for dealing with very tanky boss type opponents. The only issue is that you need quite a bit of ammo because it uses ammo fast!. For regular armored enemies the “Mutineer” is better because it doesn’t have an initial firing delay like the Smartgun. The issue with Mutineer is that it’s hard to find ammo for it early on and it uses a fair bit of ammo as well so it’s best to reserve it for armored enemies.
I bought the Smartgun and gave it to my companion. In areas without too much cover (because of AI, in my opinion) they bring the Pain without ammo worries. Just give em 1 bullet and you see how far it gets you. =) same with grenades.
@@barongorn yeah the microgun is deadly in the hands of a companion since they have infinite ammo. I haven’t tried it yet but I’m guessing that modifying a microgun with the bullet hose mod and giving it to a companion would increase the DPS by a lot.
@@Hartbreak1 I had seen someones video trying to demonstrate it, it was a fight inside a base, the companion was hiding alot and not using it to its full potential. My thought in THAT sort of situation is to use an explosive type weapon like that lever-action one that uses 40mmXL. I'm told that ammunition is more rare to come by and thus really benefit from an unlimited ammo user.
I found a legendary pistol named "Explosive Assassin's Calibrated Razorback". It has Berserker, Radioactive and Explosive traits. It's also kitted with a suppressor. At over 100 damage, I can routinely down spacers in one shot. Sadly, I forget where I found it. My other go-to's are the Rapidshot shotgun and Magshear. The Magshear is fun, but eats away at the ammo
Did not know about that ammo trick! I just sold em all as is. So if you pick it up, than drop the weapon you picked up, the ammo from said dropped weapon goes into your inventory!
I got lucky enough to find an Advanced Razorback and it has been my main gun since i picked it up. At my current level, that thing has enough kick to one-shot almost any enemy i come across.
I actually got a Titanium Beowulf from a random encounter asking if I was "The Courier" and "You're Early", to which I later got a random Ship Encounter of someone that wanted to kill me. And I still don't know if that encounter always gives the same weapon.
There's a second tier of Advanced, it's supposed to be Superior, but as it's a Bethesda Game the weapon naming is bugged. You can find identical Advanced guns, but 1 of high damage than the other.
My favorites at the moment? - My "say hello to my littler friend" launcher: The *"Elemental Smuggler's Advanced Negotiator"* - due to the naming bug in Starfield, the weapon itself is actually a legendary SUPERIOR tier weapon, not a misnamed advanced one - and once properly modded, this legendary grenade launcher can dish out over 1K of damage per shot on regular explosive rounds alone. It's literally more powerful than a legendary Bridger when it comes to grenade launchers in the game. If you can't find the Negotiator, the Bridger is just as good. - Second favorite is any higher tier version of the Hard Target sniper rifle. Alternatively, the Magsniper is also a good choice - I just prefer the Hard Target variants over it. They literally hit "harder" - N7 Smartgun (minigun) - 'nuff said, mod it for bullet hose mode and give it to Vasco to shred enemies. I always give Vasco miniguns - especially legendary superior ones - turn that mech into a shredding machine! - Breacher - slightly better than the coachman, a legendary concussive/shattering version of Breacher or coachman is prefered. I like the look of the Breacher better, looks more like a tactical military shotgun - because it is. The coachman variants + Lawgiver + Regulator pretty much makes you a space cowboy if you want to role play that, though. - Drumbeat - any higher tier version of it is amazing. Again, I like the look. The mealstorm is good, but the Drumbeat hits harder I think. Needs more testing. Grendel is a safe bet, too. Same with any high-tier Beowolf variants. - Equinox, mod any highier tier variant with rapid firing full auto and give to companions - especially Sarah, it becomes a literal laser bullet hose via unlimited ammo. Eternity's Gate is another good weapon for Sarah, but the fire rate of that thing is a hopeless cause. Any other PB weapons that can be modded for full auto are also viable, so pick your prefered poison. Pro tip: companions have unlimited ammo IF you give them 1 ammo count for whatever weapon you give them to equip. Also, ALWAYS mod for full auto fire for their weapons - they're more liable to kill you if you give them your grenade launchers because their AI is derpy AF. I found out the hard way during testing. Your companions are neigh-unkillable, you are not.
I’ve just been using the combatech big bang - it’ll put most things down in two shots - if they’re super high level three to five lol make sure they’re all head shots too for crit! So up close and personal is best !
I'm not sure if this is a glitch with my particular game but there's a specific POI called the Deserted UC Listening Post that appears south of New Atlantis on Jemeson or in the random zones when you land your ship outside that area. There's a locked room inside near the entrance that can be opened with a key card you find on a desk back by the jail cells. So far, every time I've looted them (playing on Normal and "not" doing the "switch to Very Hard just before entering" exploit) there have been two Advanced AA-99s and one Advanced Solstice (there was even a slate that mentions them as part of the inventory). I've been under level 10 every time I've looted them and they've had amazing damage for that level. If anyone wants to check if this happens with their game as well it might be a good spot for some early weapons.
Next to your Cutter with Lasers L4 the Revenant is pretty much one of the best all-around weapons in the game. Add to that an Advanced Hard Target and you pretty much have a complete loadout. With that said, I recently acquired a Legendary Coachman shotgun with Disassembler, Corrosive and Skip shot. Add to this High Velocity and Hornet Nest rounds and everything just disappears when you shoot at it. And I mean everything. Honorable mention: Keelhauler 4168 DPS in a pistol!!
HUGE GLITCH WARNING: Do not put your weapons in your ships weapon racks. Only in boxs, captains locker or cargo hold. There have been reports of all of your guns disappearing on weapon racks in your ship. This just happened to me and I lost everything.... I even tried switching ships and seeing if my lost guns showed up in my new ship I switched to and there was no luck there. They are just all gone. So that is very cool
I lost all my gun's on the mantis ship using the weapon's rack. This was the 1st week it came out. Sucks they have not patched that. But patch all the good glitches.lol..
My Advanced Pacifier is a CQB Monster! Tune it for power and range with a reflex. Turn on your flashlight, move aggressively and aim for the face. You’ll make the previous Mantis proud with how quickly, violently and efficiently you dispatch anyone opposing you!
Some other suggestions and the best at range weapon ive found recently is an "extended magazine commanders coachman" with the hornet rounds upgrade....it will two shot kill the big beasts on the red mile and will single shot most ecliptics or other pirates. Other noteable is the "one inch punch grunts" 1911 which is brutal, the varuun starshard pistol and the frenzy operators kodama. theres so many options to choose from
My current favourite weapon is a Legendary Kodama I found, with Bashing, Hitman and Explosive. Double dmg when gunbashing, +15% dmg when aiming, random explosive rounds. It shreds enemies 20 levels higher than me.
Warning: There's a bug that destroys anything you put on the weapon racks in the Razorleaf (the Mantis ship). Quite a few people have had this happen. For some, it happened when they captured a new ship. For others (like me), they left the ship for a mission, came back, and everything on the weapon display racks was gone. I lost the Keelhauler, 3 legendary weapons, and 5 other good / expensive guns. Before anyone asks: No, they didn't get transferred to the ship's cargo storage, or anywhere else. They're just gone.
I spec into crafting and use hornet rounds on a mad damage double barrel. It made me swap to very hard for my other playthroughs because even a standard double barrel can shoots nukes legendary perks just make it more broken
People 1000% overlook Va'Ruun Guns like Starshard. They have the highest damage in the game, and its split damage. They are by far the strongest in the game.
Never paid attention to the different tiers of weapons. Only paid attention to the colors and if it was a rare, epic, or legendary weapon. Will start paying attention to the greys now!
Long range designed breacher is by far the most op standard gun. Seems better then alot of snipers and you still keep decent close range capabilities. Long barrel, choke, slug....it hits
Can someone answer this question for me, do legendary weapons scale? For example, if I get the Despondent Assassin early in my play through (I did actually, around lvl 15), compared to if I had gotten it around lvl 30 or 40 or even higher, will it scale in damage as I increase my lvl or no? I ask because the one I have says it does significantly less damage than in the video and I'm assuming that's due to differences in lvls when it was acquired. So if someone could let me know that'd be great.
If Bethesda had implemented "bring em in alive" missions the EM weapons would make sense. Heck half the ships have a brig . It would be fun to stun a target , and escort them back to your ship while their friends try to save them.
Pro tip. Give the revenant to your companion along with just ONE 50 MI ammo. They get unlimited ammo and they shred enemies when using the revenant. The revenant shreds through ammo so fast that it’s hard to keep the ammo stocked if you use it yourself. Find the advanced Va’Ruun and improve it with mods at the weapon bench. Then, start upgrading both particle beam and rifle skills. it breaks the game. Edit: make sure when you give the gun to your companion you equip it or else they won’t use the gun, they’ll just store it for you.
I highly recommend for the revenant being a lot of med packs cause I did crimson quest line right off the rip and it took me 4 hours to finish the quest from constant quick saving and dying to explosions robots etc. if you know you know 😂
Lmaoooo bruh that’s wild. You did it right away 😂. The robots was nuts lol. I finished mine yesterday and it was so much fun. It literally is like a feature film.
Everyone should have a gun with a different type of ammo to avoid ammo issues and use that ammo type against the human enemies and resupply as you kill.
Honorable mention! Boom Boom shotty. Shit wrecks no cap. Found one lying about sort of deep into the campaign but I found one on my first NG+ in the New Atlantis Space Port shop. The one with the blonde chick dressed in blue.
Well I missed the revenant lol and i was shocked when i saw it here and where it is and here is why .. when i played that awesome mission i used a console command to make it 0 gravity to make it more immersive as its an offline stranded spaceship!!! and it was a quite experience actually .. but u know 0 gravity means total mess floating everywhere and probably the revenant was at the roof or something in that room but surly wasn't on the table like that :D
currently using a refined equinox since i specd into laser weapons. already to the third perk of the skill and doing about 80% damage to normal enemies per shot. might go after ember since it's a laser weapon though.
It's also important to know hat some weapons get random stat boosts without showing it in the name. For instance i got a Sidestar at level 5. Just a normal Sidestar it just so happens to do 42 damage. Which is more that an advanced one would give you.
While doing the red faction set of missions, while on the ice planet to get info, there is a locked cell. I found the computer and opened the stash. At level 11, I now have an Advanced Regulator that does 130 dmg. I think I will put some points into pistol skills!
Talk about the kid stuff benefits. Besides the ship and gun you also get a meat loaf recipe that gives xp boost for 2 hours! To think I would have skipped the perk if my IRL parents were still alive...
I think BGS should’ve utilized space better with the weapons. Ballistic weapons fire in space is kinda weird and should only work in atmosphere and laser being able to work in either.
6:09 and not only that. I've watched a similar video, from another youtuber, and the damage values were different! I mean, for that weapon, he had 62, while here it's 151?! Why is that? Is this NG+ and that's why the value is so pumped in?!

Revenant is my favorite legendary rifle. It shreds everything.
same here!!!, excellent for boarding actions too!!!!
I'm surprised some people didn't realise that you was getting the ammo of the guns you pick up !
It's been like that for years in FPS games 🤷♂️
Yes in normal FPS but I don't remember fallout has that system but I always pick up all weapons and gear from dead enemies
@@TheDragonfriday I'm a scavenger too, so I soon figured it out 🤣
@berserkirclaws107 I never notice because I literally pick up everything clean then proceed to keep one unique item in the bottomless stash in fallout and skyrim.
I tired with starfield but the limits inventory makes me not want to collect everything. Yes I'm aware of the safe box with infinite space, but I'm lazy go there. I don't want to deal with multiple loading screens. ( playing exclusively on my steam deck )
I upgraded the Big Bang into the Explorers Big Bang and it blows people away in one or two shots. I love it.
Bro you grab that godly gun but don't note the location 🥲
Fr
Tell us where
Ok, I went back and checked my saves; I got it during the Lair of the Mantis mission
Make a video on New Game + and the changes you can get AND if it’s smart to do it and then explore or Vice versa
Did not know about that ammo trick! I just sold em all as is. So if you pick it up, than drop the weapon you picked up, the ammo from said dropped weapon goes into your inventory!
That quest in Cydonia can also net you a good unique ship that can come in handy either for bounty hunting or a life of piracy. Nab it while you can.
They literally hit "harder"
- N7 Smartgun (minigun) - 'nuff said, mod it for bullet hose mode and give it to Vasco to shred enemies.
For some reason the REVENANT speaks to me as a must have weapon. :D
Boom Boom. Great for boarding actions.
I used the Ambassador from the freestar rangers quest line for a while. It is a solid unique pistol
Lost my old earth shotgun that way 😢
I lost all my gun's on the mantis ship using the weapon's rack. This was the 1st week it came out. Sucks they have not patched that. But patch all the good glitches.lol..
Yup just happened to me!!! Luckily I didn't put any legendary weapons on it cuz i had a bad feeling about it!
Thanks no spoiler warnings! Just spoiled Crimson Fleet for me now cheers! 👍
Other noteable is the "one inch punch grunts" 1911 which is brutal, the varuun starshard pistol and the frenzy operators kodama. theres so many options to choose from
its not a named weapon tho
@ornn6177 the one inch punch 1911 is.
The same happened to me except they didn't actually get deleted luckily and we're back in the cargo
Its just goes to your ship cargo it doesnt get deleted
@@gilbert6029 I'm glad yours were just back in the cargo. Sadly, that's not the case for myself and many other people.
@@LordMaidenless Incorrect. The guns did *not* go into the ship's cargo. I checked. Multiple times. They're simply gone.
@@LordMaidenlessdid you stop reading halfway through?
Deadeye pistol is cool on the headshots, you feel like a space cowboy .
Suppressed Sniper rifles, shotguns if I need to clear out rooms, and a combat knife for sneaky sneaky
I spec into crafting and use hornet rounds on a mad damage double barrel. It made me swap to very hard for my other playthroughs because even a standard double barrel can shoots nukes legendary perks just make it more broken
The Explosive microgun has been the only gun I've used sice i picked it up, lol. It destroys anything and everything with ease.
People 1000% overlook Va'Ruun Guns like Starshard. They have the highest damage in the game, and its split damage. They are by far the strongest in the game.
Inflictor is insane
The Breach Shotgun is are beast I found are legendary version of it while doing the Vanguard story-line.
Never paid attention to the different tiers of weapons. Only paid attention to the colors and if it was a rare, epic, or legendary weapon. Will start paying attention to the greys now!
Ember can also be obtained by not killing but convincing the girl to hand it over to fake her death
Long range designed breacher is by far the most op standard gun. Seems better then alot of snipers and you still keep decent close range capabilities. Long barrel, choke, slug....it hits
Asha Tamer one of the first weapon boxxes i opened. Game changer.
I like the Old Earth rifle as a good starting gun. Only problem is ammo is rare for it. But it's got good range and power for a ballistic weapon.
Keep doing this bro! You helped me a lot with Remnant 2! Thank you
Can someone answer this question for me, do legendary weapons scale? For example, if I get the Despondent Assassin early in my play through (I did actually, around lvl 15), compared to if I had gotten it around lvl 30 or 40 or even higher, will it scale in damage as I increase my lvl or no? I ask because the one I have says it does significantly less damage than in the video and I'm assuming that's due to differences in lvls when it was acquired. So if someone could let me know that'd be great.
Could be his skills to.
Dont think legendary levels change but you can get different and more effects picking them up on very hard
mine has 36 phys damage now im sad
That questline took me all damn day but it was worth it i think good rewards. Except the damn ship fight was BRUTAL
Can’t believe left off The Prime comes with decent mods including sight and easily bought at Laredo in Akila
Nothing beats my " 1inch punch kraken" i love this gun and it has corrosive damage, shoots like a shotgun and always has ammo.
currently using a refined equinox since i specd into laser weapons. already to the third perk of the skill and doing about 80% damage to normal enemies per shot. might go after ember since it's a laser weapon though.
I like the Big Bang white shotgun !!
the best unique weapon that I am still using is the Peacekeeper. It slays, but ammo is hard to get naturally, so I always buy it.
I found a suppressed AA-19 with explosive rounds. Goes great with my maxed out stealth perk
There are also Superior weapons in addition to Advanced.
My favorite weapon right now is a modified beowolf. Hits pretty hard
My Favorite Weapon is the " Explosive Calibrated Pacifier Shotgun" 💥💥👍
The "vampires gift" is my fave so far
Got an incendiary explosive instigating microgun today. It’s amazing.
I got an optional vender before going to Londonion that sold me an 80k grenade launcher From hell. That’s one of my favorites so far.
So what are the boosted weapons that I've seen here and there? Did not effect the base damage?
6:09 and not only that. I've watched a similar video, from another youtuber, and the damage values were different! I mean, for that weapon, he had 62, while here it's 151?! Why is that? Is this NG+ and that's why the value is so pumped in?!
Finally found the Varuun Inflictor and oh my god particle beam weapons are op
I was lucky enough to find an advanced lawgiver with the instigating perk, it can basically one shot anything
Rev & keel are the only 2 weapons i use now, both are so OP
revenant. Absolutely a beast. but its drains Ammo like crazy.
Thats the oh shit weapon
