Just grabbed one in black stainless. Just got a tale of knives edc organizer and this pen will make a great addition! Can't wait. Thanks for the great review!
Those look nice. I really like the size and the simplicity. It’s cool how it buries completely on that slip. Makes for a nice compact way to carry the three items.
This is a great pen, bought it to always have one on my motorcycle, but I find myself wishing I had it on me everywhere. Bolt action is smooth and fun to actuate. Most importantly, I really like how it writes. Great review!
Happy Birthday glad to see you are taking some time and spending it with the family. I am glad you reviewed this. I went looking the other day at budget bolt action this came up but was unsure about it. Now I know it is a good buy. I do like the fountain pen but not to carry around. Thanks for doing this review and good to have you back doing videos.
Hi Sean, are you still using your Pilot Metropolitan??? Take a look at Tactile Turn, they come in two sizes and has knurling for a better grip. Tactile Turn is owned by Will Hodges and you can contact him and see if he can provide one for review. I believe he is located in Texas. I have one of his first generation pens and the machining, fit and finish is excellent. He is a machinest and he makes his own components instead of buying generic off the rack ones. IThank You for another excellent review. Have a great day.
Hey Barry! I’m still loving the Metropolitan, it’s fantastic & I’ve had no less than 5 friends buy one and they all love it! I’ve looked at Tactile Turn quite a bit actually, his stuff looks amazing. He’s based about 45 minutes from where I currently live , which is about 10 minutes from where I grew up! I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about his products. His are definitely at another level of custom design and fabrication that’s for sure. I’m sure I’ll end up with one of his pens before long. His bolt action pen looks so good, and even the click pen is quite appealing, especially in Aluminum or in brass for only $69-$79. Today’s my birthday, maybe I’ll have to treat myself! Lol. I did just buy a pre-owned Ti Pocket Pro from Big Idea Designs. I’m excited to try that one out.
@@GearedTowardGear1 I have the orignal click foer the Pilot G-2 but the smaller version handles youe Parker style refills, you can try code INTRO which may get you a 20% discout. Or email Will to see if you cand get a discount code.
Thanks Scott!! It’s definitely not “budget” in the traditional sense. It’s “budget” compared to other similar pens. I guess it’s sort of like saying “budget Corvette”, even the cheapest ones are not cheap! Lol. Thanks for watching brother!
Great content!! Thanks for the review brotha, I'm liking the look of these guys, definitely can't beat the price I was looking at some Ti pens and you definitely can't beat the $65 price tag. Only complaint I have is the clip looks pretty wide, but I think I could definitely get over it.
Right on! Yeah, the clip is certainly wider than most that I’ve handled, but it hasn’t yet been an issue ergonomically or in carrying it. But you’re right, the price is pretty darn appealing for sure. Thanks for watching Frankie!
@@GearedTowardGear1 I need pens with very strong clip retention. Zebra F-701 is sooo loose. How good it is with Refyne EP1 or maybe you could recommend some other pens ?
Hey, Nick! Thanks for watching. If you go to the listing for the Titanium version there should be a little drop-down menu to select your “color”. That’s where you can choose between Ti, Black, and Gunmetal. Now that I say that I just went and checked and you’re right, there is no other option, they just have sold out of the black & gray (probably not because of me though, lol). I’ll shoot them a message in IG and see if they can tell me when they’ll be back in stock. All the best!
Carl Clarke the issue is that amazon prime offers free next day shipping. The Refyne site does not. I actually contacted refine directly and they offered me 10% off to cover the difference.
@@GearedTowardGear1 All is well, thank you. Always enjoy the gear vids. I like knives but this is a welcome change. Most "gear" channels never do gear. LOL
Hey Randy! Thanks so much! I’d have to say that the stainless variety of this pen is probably my current favorite under $50. I also really love the Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen at around $25. But I’m still a sucker for my budget Zebra’s!
Have you seen the refyne p1. It’s part flashlight part bolt action pen, on the website it says it’s 45 dollars which seems way too god to be true. Not so sure how legit it is
Hey there. It’s called the “Notebook Wallet” and is made my Redeemed Creations Co. Mine happens to be in Horween English Tan leather and costs $65. Here’s a link to their website: redeemedcreationsco.com
Depends entirely on the cartridge you use. The one they include is the Schmidt easyFLOW 9000 which is one of my all-time favorites - it’s super smooth. But it will accept any Parker G2 style refill if you have a preference.
That is a good price for a cool little pen! Thanks for sharing your comprehensive review. In other news, If your interested in EDC in general, you may be interested in checking us out on all social media platforms, Facebook page and group, an instagram account and of course a TH-cam channel, we do also have a website that has related blog posts as well, no worries if not, @EDCCooperative
No worries at all matey! Ahhhh, that is great to hear, I wasn’t aware, sorry, but it would still be great to see you around on the other platforms as well. Thanks again 👍🏻🍻
Thanks so much for watching Robert! I think for now I’ll probably hang onto them, I really enjoy them a lot. If I decide to part with any of them in the future I’ll definitely give you a shout! All the best!

You bet! Thanks so much for watching man!

Great review, and the disassembly was a nice touch! Thanks! Just ordered one in gunmetal.
Pretty sweet pens, man you find all the good stuff. Thx for sharing.
Happy Birthday Sean, hope you have an Amazing Day tomorrow!!
Thanks so much Joseph!
Love the look of the gunmetal one. I've always wanted a bolt action pen. Great video.
Thanks Jade! I always wanted to try one too, this is a good way to get into one without spending a fortune.
Ordered the gunmetal a few days ago and look forward to getting it soon. Thanks for the review.
Where can i get the leather case

Do you feel like it's on the short side? I have a TactileTurn small bolt pen and everytime I click it to open it I end up writing on my palm.

You should review the tactile turn bolt action pens
Great pen! My only issue is that barely any use and it’s already gets splotchy and not working so will need to find a good refill replacement for it

Thanks so much! And thanks for watching! All the best. 🍻
👍🏻 just for the NASA/Texas love. Been comparing these to the fisher space pen bullet. Thinking this is the one. Thanks for the review!
Nice pens especially at a reasonable price great review 👍
Just bought the gunmetal EP1!
Right on!! That color has to be my favorite. I hope you enjoy it, shoot me another comment once you get it and let me know what you think!
Thank you for the review! Got a few on order! That nice Wera screwdriver is that part of a kit or sold separately?
I got three of them on the way!! Good video!!
Thanks for showing this to us. Was looking to pick up the stainless in gunmetal but only see the titanium version on Amazon.

Would you pick this pen or tactile turn ? Looking to buy one just not sure which one
Very nice looking! Grey looks the best
Thanks TOJO! I agree, I really like the gray.
Dang it.. you just made me buy one. I had been putting it off until this review.
Have you tried the Everyman Grafton?
Hello Sean. Nice looking pen. I like the bolt action, it is harder to open by accident in the pocket that the end button style. All the best.

Anyone know how to get it in Europe? Or an alternative?
What’s the model of the Wera screwdriver using in this video?
It’s the model 813 “Wera Bit Holder”. About $11 on Amazon.
