Kudos to you for taking the time to patiently explain this condition and for letting us into another part of your world. Too often we take even the simplest things in life for granted. I hope and pray that your surgery will be (or was) an absolute success!
I know this video is rather old but you are not alone I too still suffer from macrodactyly in my thumb index and middle finger on my left hand but I don't let that stop me. I still play play the guitar rather ok, I play console, pc, and mobile games and it is very inspiring to see that I am not the only one that has this condition
I have macrodactyly so my left middle finger is quite a bit bigger than the other digits. I'm still able to subconsciously hide it, and I can use it like a normal finger. I hope your operation went well. I'm currently trying to learn how to play the guitar, and it's proving to be quite the challenge. As soon as I think I have a way around using my enlarged finger to be able to hold down one string in a fret, I have to figure something else out to play another chord.
Hi. I have this condition as well and I am in talks with a doctor on reconstruction surgery. May I ask why did you opt for amputation instead of debunking your finger? (Not to be rude, genuinely asking because I am very nervous about of surgery, hope you don’t mind)
Hi Don, My 2 year old boy has macrodactyly in his right ring-finger. I didn't notice it until he was about 4-5 months old, but my wife said it was present since birth. There seems to be so little information about the condition. Would you mind if I inbox you a picture of his hand? I really wanted to know what degree you feel he has the condition.
