Resident Evil VII is easily one of the better Resident Evil games, and hands down, the better of the two Ethan/First Person entries. The emo girl creepy "Go Tell Aunt Rhody" end credits theme blows rocks, the darker tone might not gel with some fans, and it also lead to Resident Evil Village, which is the worst main entry (or at least my least favourite, I REFUSE to play Resident Evil 6 if Village was that bad). HOWEVER, the gameplay is oldschool survival horror refined and modernised, the horror and atmosphere is fantastic, the E-virus/Mould (better known as -Eveline)- is the franchise's best biohazard since the T-Virus from the pre-4 days, the weapons and puzzles feel satisfying, and overall, it still holds up. It really makes me wonder what could've been had they gone the path of a new protagonist each entry encountering a new biological weapon rather than the ridiculous supernatural chosen one bullshit they went with in Village to render the entire series pointless and make Alice a reality in the games' universe.
Somtimes the TH-cam algorithem is both cruel and perfect. On one hand i cant stand that a 40 minute video doesnt get the views it deserves, on the other hand, i showed me this video, so im not complaining
