I’ve never crocheted in my life but I’m determined to make my cat and my small dog their own beds 😂 I saw these for sale on an online pet store for $30 and I was like wow they’re cute but I could make one myself for cheaper lol

I think any Puppy would enjoy this bed as well but you'd need to make it taller walls I think or figure out how to make a small opening. But your right it would be so cozy for someone's pet.
I usually don't purchase any yarns unless I can use them in the washing machine. Can you recommend a super chunky yarn that I can use in the machine? Especially cuz I will be making this bed for my little dog and when you have pet's, their bedding always needs to be washed if you know what I mean? LOL - 🤣

I love your instructions! My cat bed looks great! But... can you tell me how to stich up the sides so the top opening gets smaller? Do I just decrease stitches?
Yes, you decrease stitches: crochet two together, then - two single crochets, then two together and again two single crochets all the way through a row

If you make a bigger base, how do you know what the stitch pattern should be? Is there a place to refer to? Thanks
If you would like to make a bigger base - keep crocheting around the same way as the last row before making a wall until you reach the diameter you need, then start making the wall as shown in the video

how do I do the increases to make a larger bed?
Keep crocheting around as shown in the video until you have a diameter of a cat bed you need

You can unwind it and try again - the key is to crochet the walls going under both parts of the stitch not just one as for the base
