First Time on Georgia's Dragon Suches Loop

- Redbeard rides his 2010 Honda Goldwing, Woodstock, on Georgia's Dragon on January 26th, 2020. Before COVID-19 changed everything.
Georgia's Dragon, or Suches Loop is a nice ride, but do pay attention to the turns. This is not as straight forward as a lot of rides.
Directions:
Leave Dahlonega, GA heading North on Route 60. Stay on 60N (it merges with GA 19) as it splits off to the left towards Suches. Continue to Suches and turn right on Wolfpen Gap Road (Route 180). Wolfpen Gap Road tees into US Highway 129/19. Turn right on to US 129/19 and follow it down to the 129/19 split at Riverside Tavern at Turners Corner. Stay on Hwy 19 until teeing into Hwy 60, then head South back to Dehlonega.

Coming up from metro Atlanta, I take either 19 up Blood Mountain or hwy 60, but either way, you cut across hwy 180 on Wolfpen Gap Rd. and circle around.
Going on hwy 60, north of TWO of Suches, is also fun and it takes you all the way to McCaysville and then into TN ...follow all the way to Tellico Plains and across the Cherohala and then the Dragon or the Moonshiner 28 😁

@@AdventureswithRedbeard i'm in Gwinnett County, which is about 30 miles northeast of Atlanta and I can be in Dahlonega in 90 minutes. I pretty much ride year round and enjoy riding the GA/NC/TN mountains from spring to fall.
@@ronfriedman8740 Sweet! I have a friend in Duluth. I lived in Buckhead for a year. Atlanta is positioned so nicely for riding. How long have you lived in the Atlanta area?

I'm here going on 30 years and love it - the mild climate and easy access to the Blue Ridge Mountains makes Gwinnett County perfect for me. I was in the Adirondack Mountains last month and while the scenery was beautiful, the roads were in terrible shape, largely due to the harsh winters.
@@ronfriedman8740 I can understand how the milder winters in the Blue Ridge would allow the roads to stay in better condition. I've been pleased with road conditions every time I went. It's been since before the pandemic since I've been. I'm overdue.
I drove from Dahlonega to just past Suches on 60. That road would be extremely fun if it was closed off for one way traffic (and I was in a car).
