- My first ride of 2024. Riding my 2021 Goldwing Tour, Manual, with a Hannigan trailer in tow. Lets get ready for another exciting season.

Thank you my friend. This is my first trailer experience and I am so excited. Now those longer trips will be so much easier with all the extra cargo space. Finally, I will not need the large luggage bag on the seat. Stay tuned and we will see what exciting things happen next. Ride safe.

Thanks Amer. I have towed the trailer around for about 4 hours so far and can't wait to take it on my three week trip in August. At this time it is at Xtreme Graphix getting a facelift. It might be a few weeks before I have an unwrapping video. lol. Fingers crossed it will look great. Thanks for your support my friend.

At 3:50 mark approx , I went back three times I thought a plan passed over you, but was a traffic light 🚥 😅. I like the camera set up. Years ago my daughter bought a Terrain she was in Calgary at the time when she moved back to Newfoundland I flew up and we drove back, I thought it was one of the best vehicles I've driven but there was a motor issue and a recall and she lost faith into it.
That was great for the company to respond so quickly and with that information.
I like the idea of calling attention to those that really support the channel in the way you said Robert does , that's why I have an ongoing list on my wall of Fame list as long as I have space I'll continue to put the full list up with each new sticker.

The older Terrains had a 1.3 engine, I think. Those were an issue. Now they have a 1.5 and it's a solid engine. The vehicle is great to drive. Love it!
I see how you have added your Wall of Fame and support list. That's a great idea and I am working on a list as well. So many people pitch in support for out channels and it's good to give them a shoutout whenever possible. The same is true with a business that goes above and beyond. Lets just spread the word.

RG, my friend. Always here, always supporting the Goldwing Community and adding encouraging comments to out channels. You Sir, point us in the direction to carry on. This was an awesome first ride and the guy in the truck made my day. We try out best to post good videos and it is a bonus when someone stops and pitches you a great compliment. This fellow liked the bike, trailer and accessory setup. It was a given, that I add him into my video. The only problem, I was left without words and should have said something as I drove away.
On another note, I do enjoy the trailer setup and there will be much more to come on that in the future. Let the good times roll ! Ride Safe my Friend.

Awesome day for a first ride of 2024. I was going to ask you about the little trailer :) Good looking setup.
Thank you, and my first ride of 24 was a great one. I only rode for about two hours but it was enough to test my trailer, the hitch and bike operation. All worked well and the weather was nice. I will put together a video on the trailer once I get a few more things completed and maybe find some fun places to mount a couple of more cameras. Ride Safe.

Thanks, it was a beautiful day for sure and I will be heading back east to share more beautiful areas this summer. I love to ride Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. I may have to take an Otis video along the way. lol. Take care.

We tow a trailer with our '85 gOLDwing. Yes, most of the time we don't know it's back there. You have an extremely nice set up!!

Any information you would like to share, would be handy as well. Guess you could say, I am really green with the trailer experience. As you know I watched and commented on your last video. @goldwingmoments important thing is to load the trailer properly so that you have about 10/15% of the total weight of the trailer on the tongue. I figured our trailer loaded weighed somewhere around 300 pounds (trailer empty is 175#). So the tongue weight should be 30 - 45 pounds and adjust from there by moving weight around in trailer (heavier items on either side of the axle). I'll try and find a video I watched years ago by Rich from "2 Wheels, Big Life."

@@boomerson2wheels , thanks for the info. I think I will purchase a small scales to use with the trailer. Then I can be sure how the trailer is balanced out with the correct tongue weight. I appreciate the information my friend.

Nice to see that you’re out on the bike and nice trailer. I’ll be heading out to Toronto from Edmonton Alberta on June 1st. On my 2000 gl1500 and I’ll be pulling a trailer. You will enjoy your trailer especially on long trips. Ride safe.

Great video and informative as always. That is an awesome trailer that looks like it would be great for storage of luggage, camping and fishing gear. Do you notice any difference in braking of the motorcycle? I think you enjoy the 2 wheel riding hobby very much and would agree that working on bike accessories in the winter is almost as much fun as riding. Hey my friend. I love the tailer and am so excited to make it part of this years travels. This was my first time ever towing a trailer, and I was out for about two hours. It runs straight as an arrow and I have to keep looking to see if it's still there. So far I see no change in braking but I have yet to perform a panic stop. I don't think there will be any issues. The accessories are something else. Like you say, winter is a good time to add all types of accessories and it keeps you in the biking mindset. Sometimes I think it's an addiction. lol. Hang in there for the nice weather. It's on the way. Enjoy your weekend.

Thanks Darrell. The grin was ear to ear and I may have picked up a bug or two during the ride. I little grit and bug guts isn't that bad on the first ride of the season. A little more trailer upgrades and we will be ready for another NL trip. Enjoy the rest of the week my friend.

Hey my friend, I will be crossing Newfoundland the first part of Aug. Deer Lake will be an area to stop for sure so we could connect. I will be posting short videos as I go so my location will be out there in TH-cam land. It would be awesome to meet up.
I installed a Kuryakyn trailer hitch but the video never worked out. That said, I plan to remove a few parts and explain the process in another video. I will have to do the same for the camera system.

Hey Robert, the trailer pulls great and it's so easy to forget it's there. It's true that you can't feel it back there but it was also empty except for a few tools, cover, tire and some other small items. I had no power loss and couldn't feel anything different in the corners. The trailer was silent with no rattles from the hitch. It was stable on the road and never bounced. That said, this was my first time towing a trailer and I was relaxed and not pushing things. Playing it safe!

Hey Bob, thanks for checking in. I love the trailer and am now looking at options for the trailer. Paint or wrap with my channel logo are all on the table. I have friends with great ideas and I just have to decide. That will be another video for sure. Once I get wheel bearings replaced and a few other upgrades completed it will be game time. Why are trailers such a fashionable thing for Goldwing riders?
Hi there Jesse. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. You got me thinking and I am not sure I have a good answer for you, but lets give it a go. Although owners of other brand motorcycles tow trailers, Goldwings seem to be more popular. Here are the reasons why I decided to get my used Hannigan trailer. My vacations on the road can last for two to three weeks. You can imagine the items I would like to carry for that time. If I camp, I will need room for a cooler, tent, lawn chair and other things as well as extra clothing. Then there is my TH-cam channel. The trailer is a great billboard to showcase my channel information. Yes, my trailer is presently at a Xtream Graphix getting a facelift. This will also open up other video topics for my channel. Now for the last item. I think the trailer setup can be cool looking and add to your motorcycle experience depending on the bike and the type riding you do. Trailers are not for everyone. I am over 60 and not in a rush to get anywhere. Luxury is at the top of my decision list. Great question my friend and I thank you again for asking. Enjoy your day.
That trailer you’re towing doesn’t even bobble what is the weight limit for you to pull?
Hi there. Thanks for visiting and subscribing. The trailer is a 2010 Hannigan and tows smooth as butter. This was my first time towing a trailer and couldn't I believe how well it handled. I have not had time to weigh the trailer yet but the GVWR is 227 kg or 500 lbs. I will guess the trailer weight at 250 lbs, so it can easily carry another 250 lbs or 113 kg. I figure that would be good for most people. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
