Love how much of a clusterfuck it was during the resonance cascade the aliens the HECU and the black ops just all fucking over eachother while one guy called Gordon Ramsay with a Spartan armor goes around killing every single living thing with a crowbar.
It’s that mix of newer Interceptors and LWHs mixed in with the older PASGT gear and Alice rigs that gives them that unique style. Modern enough to get a taste of the gear we’d see in the Iraq war and Afghanistan (plus HECU being MEU-SOC at the minimum meaning they get all the cool toys earlier) but early enough to still see them using parts of the old PASGT system and older ALICE packs, 70s webbing and M40s.
@@TemmieContingenC Crowbar Collective did the best making HECU more accurate, even tho they didn't replace Apache for Super Cobra. This animation has way more less to do with HL lore.
dude for 2 1/2 minutes this animation has to be one of the best depictions of the HECU ive seen. i love how it isnt just constant close quarters with just a couple squads but actual combined arms with the multiple tanks rolling up behind the infantry to provide them fire support. and the involvement of antlions is also an interesting device for the major xenian assault, considering they are nowhere to be seen in the original games. but still implemented very well, and loved every second of it

You did a good job hiding the sometimes clumsy animations with clever camera positions and scene cuts. Would have done well to desynchronise the running soldiers at 1:11, but in the later segments it worked quite well.
Hey man, your work is extremely good and extremely underated, i dont see better cinematics anywhere else, you capture scenes beautifully but i seriously got to ask, how do you make it look so beautiful? The colours, the DOF, bloom, everything is just so perfect. Do you use reshade or any post-processing software? Looking forward to seeing more Cinematics from you
I’d love to see a game like SCP: SL but half life. No prisoner class, and the Military is like the CI and the agents are… the CI but again. No MTF. Play from you favorite selection of invaders: Some huge houndeye, and antlion guard/queen, the hive mind of head crabs, a shark, a zombie jacked up on roids, and the PA system taken over by invasive plants. Super fun.
I really don't like the overly tactical take on the HECU at all. It really distracts from the feel the HECU had in Black Mesa and in Half Life way too much.
Freeman is cool. The HECU are cool. Sure. But I hope that in the end, we can all mutually agree that Blackops are little bastards. Valve did a great job designing them to be hated.
To be fair, the antlions on Half Life Alyx are almost as slow as the one in this video. And by you mean low hp you mean 15 rounds of SMG rounds per antlion in HL2. That's the point of Xen faunas. They're not actually that strong they can be kill with 1-15 rounds compared to human soldiers that can tap them from 300m. But HECU were outgunned,outnumbered, outmaneuvered, and xen faunas kept teleporting in everywhere. This also goes for when Xen creatures teleports worldwide. Mankind military couldn't handle them due to sheer panic, constant ambush, no frontline with those things, and they just keep coming. And then The Combine comes in and the rest are history
