@@pecaut1967 Suboxone doesn't work well for me but I missed too many days of methadone when I went to jail in the fall. I still tested pos for it but they want everybody on subs or suplicate now. The depression is getting better but I had to get my shit together. When your old enough to be half the ranges dad in jail its embarrassing. I liked the pin too & was smashing meth/fentanyl speedballs in my jugular at my worst. Having to deal with the results of years of self destruction while clear headed has been overwhelming me. I'm still facing alot of charges & alot of time for stuff I did high. Congrats on 6 years my dude!!!

Yeah, I hear what you are saying, and my wife has a daughter who has gone down that road, lost her kids, been to jail and prison several times trying to steal money to fuel her addiction and rehab generally is a short term fix at best. Meth addiction is truly a destroyer of lives and it's sad as hell, but then again, looking at it from the outside, the stereotypical behavior is funny as all git up.

2 years for me and I caught it before it was a real problem. I came clean to my grown children. I made my daughter cry. I came clean to mom and dad. I was celebrating my 53 bday and me Lucifer and me had a long talk. I didn’t care enough about me at the time but it was brought to my attention that I did care that I could be an embarrassment to my children. That I loved them enough. Now I love me enough. Held down two jobs, raised awesome kids, took in injured and orphaned wildlife, legally, put in my own plumbing, taught school, and just enjoyed life, with my own teeth..oh, yeah, drove a stick shift everyday to town. I ran hard for 23 years, and can say I never thought friends or peeps were setting me up, had drones or cops following me. Although I did try to wire a stereo in my car for about 2 1/2 days straight one time and couldn't get it to work, fell asleep in the driver's seat, woke up like 15-16 hours later. When I looked at the wiring on the stereo I noticed I never hooked up the power wire. Me and a buddy sat in that car that long, had my whole dash taken apart at one time those two days. I was always able to maintain but had some messed up shit happen alot. Some of the funnest times in my life that I can't remember...lol. been sober a little over 5 years now. Nowhere near as good as it used to be back when it was p2p and fed dope. Hahaha

However, once there was someone who was supposed to be a good friend. I'd been clean I at the time 10yrs. I can handle knowing people who do it as long as they are functional "very very rare" and most respectfully don't use around me knowing I'm clean. Well one night they not only stole my lawnmower but on my Nissan Altima ripped the catilyc converter off and sold for money 😒 needless to say I ended the friendship. They were too far out. Hate to hear that but it seems every we’re you go there’s 1 or more couples out here in the world like this song describes it’s a shame they won’t work and support there habit I smoked pot for over 20 years of life and most all the time had a job and if I was laid off I was working on any thing and for any body I could work for I had a neighbor one time that said they can say what they want about you but you always paid your bills might been late some times but you never go without and they can’t say you didn’t work for he said you worked for everything you got and I said yeah even if I don’t have a lot things I spent the money on to show for but there were some real good times it’s all in disabling your self and useing things for the right reason need to calm down get your thoughts together well there’s one for that need to get a weeks worth of work done in a weekends time there’s one for that and the main thing is to maintain! And I really feel for you man on your mom I just lost my dad in January 8 days before my birthday my moms still doing good we had to set her down and say hay you can’t give up cause he’s gone we got her to understand just because you have a flat tire you don’t junk the car my dad would say and then pick yourself up dust yourself off and get right back in there didn’t matter if you was trying to ride a bull that had killed a few an mamed a half dozen more ! But you stay safe like I say it’s a latter thing we start as kids then have kids then become parents and grandparents. 12 1/2 years ? Damn you really loved that dog . I lost a dog I had for twelve years, minus 1 year I was incarcerated. But the was almost 13. Now I’ll refer to her as my 12 3/4 year old dog. Man I miss that dog, I cried for three days straight, before during and after she died in my arms convulsing and bleeding out her mouth. I dug a 12 foot deep hole, I ain’t shittin, it was easy digging , we lived on the peninsula it was sand. The next day I left my old lady of three years. But anyways I got a new dog , she ain’t shit compared to Flash, but I love her. I’ll jump in front of a moving car for her. Twice
I used to do drugs...gave them up in 1992, but I know what it is like to hit rock bottom!! The thing is I don't feel sorry for these kids today with their lack of "control" and addictions!! I was an IV coke user for over 25 years and I worked in a very stressful and fast pace environment as an oncology nurse manager and opened my own hospice care service through the hospital I was affiliated with. I put myself through school, raised my daughter on my own, owned a house (bought not rented), kept a clean and organized home. She never went without for anything, clothes, shoes, concerts, and vacations especially at our summer house at the beach or the cabin in upstate New York. She had a car @17, and she was involved with several extracurricular activities through the school and other venues. She had music lessons, can play guitar, violin and piano. I also put her through college at a ivy league school and she received a bachelor's degree. She started her adult life with absolutely ZERO debt, including student loans. I paid for her whole tuition. When she was getting ready to move out into her place with her fiancee, I gifted them $5,000 and bought them a new bedroom set with a queen size memory foam pillow top mattress. My family and friends were undeniably shocked and in disbelief when I went to rehab to get clean. I'm not saying that people who are in their own addictions are any different than me. I'm just saying that I was able to do everything I set myself up to do, despite my addictions. There are people today who still don't know what I was doing. I never understood when people were so effed up that they were transceant, stealing and selling themselves for the next hit. I am not judging anyone else who is in that situation. I just didn't understand it, but it was not my journey, I am very lucky to be able to say that.

Yeah, I hear what you are saying, and my wife has a daughter who has gone down that road, lost her kids, been to jail and prison several times trying to steal money to fuel her addiction and rehab generally is a short term fix at best. Meth addiction is truly a destroyer of lives and it's sad as hell, but then again, looking at it from the outside, the stereotypical behavior is funny as all git up.

I ran hard for 23 years, and can say I never thought friends or peeps were setting me up, had drones or cops following me. Although I did try to wire a stereo in my car for about 2 1/2 days straight one time and couldn't get it to work, fell asleep in the driver's seat, woke up like 15-16 hours later. When I looked at the wiring on the stereo I noticed I never hooked up the power wire. Me and a buddy sat in that car that long, had my whole dash taken apart at one time those two days. I was always able to maintain but had some messed up shit happen alot. Some of the funnest times in my life that I can't remember...lol. been sober a little over 5 years now. Nowhere near as good as it used to be back when it was p2p and fed dope. Hahaha

I was an IV coke user for over 25 years and I worked in a very stressful and fast pace environment as an oncology nurse manager and opened my own hospice care service through the hospital I was affiliated with. I put myself through school, raised my daughter on my own, owned a house (bought not rented), kept a clean and organized home. She never went without for anything, clothes, shoes, concerts, and vacations especially at our summer house at the beach or the cabin in upstate New York. She had a car @17, and she was involved with several extracurricular activities through the school and other venues. She had music lessons, can play guitar, violin and piano. I also put her through college at a ivy league school and she received a bachelor's degree. She started her adult life with absolutely ZERO debt, including student loans. I paid for her whole tuition. When she was getting ready to move out into her place with her fiancee, I gifted them $5,000 and bought them a new bedroom set with a queen size memory foam pillow top mattress.
My family and friends were undeniably shocked and in disbelief when I went to rehab to get clean. I'm not saying that people who are in their own addictions are any different than me. I'm just saying that I was able to do everything I set myself up to do, despite my addictions. There are people today who still don't know what I was doing.
I never understood when people were so effed up that they were transceant, stealing and selling themselves for the next hit.
I am not judging anyone else who is in that situation. I just didn't understand it, but it was not my journey, I am very lucky to be able to say that.

Say safe and well. I was addicted to heroin for a very long time, I got off by myself with will power, 25yrs clean. This meth and other drug epidemic Is horrifying, I am so proud that I was able to bring up four Adults with any addictions. I guess years back when I first head mention of It and then watched a doco, I was ready for mine as teenagers. I pray these people can one day find or, be given proper care and treatment.
