Wizards and Warriors animated fantasy documentary lore video series on the world of Middle-Earth - Lord of the Rings continues with the second video on the First Age. We discuss the creation of the world of Tolkien, its powers and races and we see how and why the Elves became the enemies of the Dark Lord Melkor, who they called Morgoth, after their leader Fëanor cursed him for killing his father Finwë and stealing his prized possession - Silmarils ( • Beginning of the Age -... ) In Middle-Earth, Morgoth attacks the Teleri Elves in Doriath and his allies starting the War of the Jewels with the First Battle of the Beleriand. Meanwhile, in the Valinor, the Noldor Elves of Feanor attack their Teleri relatives in the First Kinslaying. Afterwards, Feanor and his sons travel to the Middle-Earth to fight Morgoth and take the Silmarils, leading to the battles of Dagor-nuin-Giliath and Lammoth and the death of Feanor ( • Feanor Strikes Back - ... ). In the aftermath the Noldor kingdoms rise in the Middle-Earth taking on Morgoth once again, this time at the battle of Dagor Aglareb, where Feanor's sons Fingolfin and Maedhros fought against the Dark Lord, while the humans - the House of Edain ( • Dagor Aglareb - Noldor... ) rose elswhere. The fourth episode will describe the battle of Dagor Bragollach and the rise of the father of Dragons Glaurung ( • Dagor Bragollach - Ris... ). In the aftermath of the defeat the Elves and Men were on the back foot and the evil spread, but from those dark days, an Beren and Lúthien rose to challenge the darkness ( • Beren and Lúthien - Gr... ), and defeated Morgoth ( • How Morgoth Was Defeat... ). Their tragic love story inspired Maedhros to create his Union, which attacked the Dark Lord during the Nirnaeth Arnoediad - the battle of Unnumbered Tears ( • Nirnaeth Arnoediad - B... ). As a result of the battle, many Men and Elf were made hostages, among them Húrin. In the first episode about Children of Húrin, we will talk about Morgoth's curse and the Rise of Húrin's son Túrin ( • Children of Húrin: Ris... ), while the second episode covered the Fall of Nargothrond ( • Fall of Nargothrond - ... ). The third episode is going to set up the biggest tragedy in the world created by Tolkien, as Nienor has exited Dor-Lomin and her meeting with Turin is going to happen soon The third episode is going to set up the biggest tragedy in the world created by Tolkien, as Nienor has exited Dor-Lomin and her meeting with Turin is going to happen soon ( • Biggest Tragedy In the... ). In the fourth and final episode in the mini-series on the Children of Hurin, the tragedy is complete - Turin and Nienor are dead, and so is Glaurung ( • Children of Hurin - Tr... ). After their death, the Dark Lord finally released Hurin. His return would only worsen the situation for the free peoples ( • Fate of Hurin - Curse ... ) and they would continue fighting each other for the Silmarils and power, leading to the Second Kinslaying and the Fall of Doriath ( • Fall of Doriath and Se... ). In the aftermath, another great story, that of Tuor started, and with it a New Hope was born.

Love your work 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
When did you cover the children of Hurin? In your Rise of Morgoth video the beginning of the tale is briefly mentioned at the end.
@@ElspethknighterrantThey were already covered in the shorter videos, and have yet to be collected in a complication video.
@@richardthomas9497 Already found them but thank you regardless
Seems Tuor inherited all the luck in the family. Couldn't leave even a little for his uncle and cousins.
yeah
but to be fair he and his wife did disappear at sea by the end
Right
Tuor's uncle and cousins' misfortune is due to Morgoth's curse, even sparing his luck wouldn't have helped. (Or the curse would've affected him).
The tale of a single man carrying out hit-and-run tactics and an insurgency against the Easterlings sounds like a great series.
For anyone who doesn't remember Arminas and Gelmir, they were the same Elves that tried to warn King Orodreth to close the doors of Nargothrond. Only to be trading threats and insults with Túrin, even saying he lacked the noble bearings of the House of Hador compared to his cousin Tuor, whom they'd met at the Gate of the Noldor.
I gotta admit I actually kinda forgot about Tuor, either because of how his tale is actually relatively happy compared to Beren & Luthien and Turin, or because his role in the grand scheme with the fall of Gondolin and being the father of Earendil doesnt happen until later.
Tuor's story is the first towards the endgame of the First Age. The stories of Beren and Luthien and the Children of Húrin just get more attention, since they're mostly complete and can be self-contained.
I love the fact that he was the first Man to see the ocean
"This I say to you, lord, with the eyes of death: though we part here for ever, and I shall not look on your white walls again, from you and from me a new star shall arise. Farewell!"
"Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin" is one of my favourite chapters from Unfinished Tales (which ironically ends when Tuor passes the last gate).
The descriptions of the Seven Gates of Gondolin and their guards are fascinating, going from the simple and hardy to becoming more intricate and artistic; first the Gate of Wood, then Stone, Bronze, Writhen Iron, Silver, Gold and Steel (the last built by Maeglin himself). Their written description would inspire many conceptual artists to draw them.
Once again I recommend anime/manga as an extra source for future fantasy and science-fiction lore videos.
Gundam, specifically the Universal Century timeline, is just ripe for W&W videos.
@@myriadmediamusings Giant robots/mecha warfare would be an interesting genre for W&W to cover.
the silmarillion episode 4 A New Hope
The Silmarillion:
Episode I: The Noldoran Menace
Episode II: Attack of the Dwarves
Episode III: Revenge of Turambar
Episode IV: A New Hope
Episode V: Morgoth Strikes Back
Episode VI: Return of the Edain
Episode VII: The Valar Awakens
Episodr VIII: The Last Silmaril
Episode IX: The Rise of Numenor
@@myriadmediamusings okay this is awesome
Fuck yea
Take my money now
These should be made into Hollywood blockbusters. If done properly these will be amazing.
Thoroughly enjoying these episodes on the First Age of Middle-Earth. Keep up the good work, W&W!
Always be kind to the doggos. They will always remember it.
I absolutely love the tale of Tuor. In particular his early days alone and finding his armour. Brilliant stuff
Now I kind of want to see a map showing Tuor's and Turin's journeys in parallel
Imagine if Turin had got his head out of his ass and joined forces with Tuor. I believe that if they were able to team up Gondollin may not have fell. I know one man shouldn't make that much of a difference, but then again Tuor and Turin were not ordinary mortals. Tuor is the best though, thanks and keep up the great work
Since Morgoth's curse over Húrin and his family still held sway. It was better for Tuor to never meet or join Túrin, or the curse would've affected Tuor's role in the story and maybe doomed everything in the long run.
This series has been amazing. Thank you so much!
I have waited for this time for so long...u guys r the best
"Through the darkness, one may come to the light." Or, as was recently put, "Sometimes to find the light, we must first touch the darkness."
"It has been surmised that my Lord was like a wild animal that had been kept too long..."
"Freedom, so long an unremembered dream, was now his..."

I have been looking forward to seeThe Fall of Gondolin, should have it's own movie
Many tales of the First Age could have their own movie.
@@richardthomas9497I’d love to see an anthology series of The Silmarillion. One Season for the first age. Another for the second age. And the last for the third age and a little bit of the fourth
The Tolkien estate has not given anyone permission to produce the Silmarillion or any other tales of the 1st Age of Middle Earth. They had only given Peter Jackson permission to use material from the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. Amazon only has permission to use material from the appendices in LOTR. But you are correct in that these tales could make good movies or TV series.
the Fall of Gondolin has way too many contexts and characters to be it's own movie. It has to be as part of some sort of trilogy that entails the life of Tuor.
Thank you for this series!
This series is brilliant. Your fan from Sri Lanka ❤️. We always appreciate your hard work and dedication towards these videos. LOTR universe is one of my fav and one of the best in fantasy genre. ❤️🇱🇰🤝🏴
HUGE fan of JRR Tolkien and his works, these videos are great!
Just one request could you do a similar series like this based on Warcraft Lore?
I think there is a massive audience for it as nobody that I can find does it and it would be cool to see Warcraft since the very beginning through the War of the Ancients right to where we are today!
May Morgoth reign again! But fun video, always enjoy LOTR lore.
what great animation
For the next alternative history video
Coud you make what if the Persian empire conquered Greece won the Sea battle of Salamis and the land Battles marathon plataea
What if the Anglo saxens won the battle of Hastings
What if the Greeks won the battle of Petra
COUD you guys make videos about the 80 years war
The Dutch fight for independence
On kings and general's
And great video i am loving this siries
Love this channel😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
I want more of that 40K lore! Bless the emperor
!
Outstanding work with this series
I want a Tuor adventure game, if it could be done faithfully
14:25 you have 'Tuor & Hurin' crossing paths at Eithel Irvin. And was Tuor and Turin chasing after Finduilas after sack of Nargothrond that nearly met
Thank you!!!
You know I would love to see some videos like what would happen if the mongol empire was transported to game of thrones. Sort of crossover type thing
Amazing channel, stunning Videos. I, Melkor, Lord of Arda, has spoken.
Amazing videos
I always forget Tuor is Elronds grandfather... maybe it’s because his life is happy which is rare in the first age or because his son and grandson’s stories are so interesting.... I don’t know but I can’t wait for the series... I LOVE the animations you guys are creating, I hope in the far future we can get detailed animated art for the fords of Isen, battle of Dale, Osgiliath and finally the siege of Gondor.... I would love to see you guys bring Minas Tirith to life! Or maybe the war of Arnor.... just do every war from Middle Earth how about that?
I would not call his life happy. Both he and his wife lost almost all who they loved and the place they called home. They had a better fate than lets say Turin and his siter, but a lucky one - I don't know. Such is the fate of almost all who stand against Morgoth.
Ulmo be like : Be not afraid! Son of hador.
Lol
Wonderful video! Sorry, it took this long to see it!
Tuor is one of my favorite characters and this story is one of my favorites!
However, I would not call the Laws of Gondolin cruel. I think that is 21st century bias.
Great video
Thanks guys
Love these videos, keep it up 😎👍
When's the next Mongol althistory coming and when are other althistory scenarios coming out?
finally some action
Love your work, are they available anywhere else but YT?
14:06 Tuor never realized he saw his cousin there, did he?.
Probably not, and better for him they never got acquainted. Or Morgoth's curse would've affected Tuor.
Please...Game developers...just leave Tolkien alone. Let his works stand on their own. That is where the magic truly is.
There's no issues building on it and adding things as long as the core works are kept and respected as the base. Tolkien would have encouraged that. The problem is that games and certain new billion dollar shows actively change things and alter events and characters to fit what they think is best and that's where the problems start.
@@josephshrike3972 Whether he would have issue, I won't speculate on, other than to say, if I had built entire languages, mythos, cultures, historical Ages, figures and characters with such a great depth, I"m not sure anyone could further it with the same inherent love and attention that I would. The 'problem' is not just the changes to profiteer off of his work, but why the changes were made...and that is to suit a current trend in the politic in a clear effort to use his work as a platform of propaganda. The same thing is being done to many franchises...and they are dying as a result. For this reason...I say...leave them all alone, as they are. Make original things to forward propaganda...don't use a Legacy just to reach people who would otherwise tell you to keep your patronizing 'You must learn this' bullshit to get fucked.
@@male272 Tolkien built those languages, cultures, and characters using inspiration from things that came before him. The entirety of mythology is stories with the same core but with new people adding their own tales to it. Tolkien, being a student and lover of all of that, I don't think would have any issues with it, and in fact in discussing adaptations of his work he was fully willing to accept some changes for the sake of the medium. Ironically, many of the changes he didn't want ended up in the Jackson movies, but that's another discussion. The point is that the changes made in like Shadow of War or Rings of Power did not respect the work, and in fact, contradicted much of it directly. I'm not going to presume what you're attributing to propaganda and if that's your starting position it not one that I have any interest in discussing. Bottom line is that by truncating time by thousands of years, putting characters in places they were, and omitting others that would play major roles while contradicting the established nature of the characters that were written of, people are not telling new stories within Middle-Earth or fitting what they want into the world. Instead, they're changing the world to fit their stories and that's where the issues are.
@@josephshrike3972 Again, I have no direct disagreement, I just think there is anyone worthy to adjust and adapt his work, and I don't think I can speculate on whether he would think so either. I certainly don't think any modern 'versions' have done anywhere near a good job either. So, considering that, I think the original work should just be left alone. Whatever comes after that attempts to attach itself is nothing but an attachment to Greatness...so why not just make an entire other thing? That's my opinion...If I was to put in an effort to make something, I wouldn't want it to be considered a success or failure based on a necessary comparison...not sure what you consider 'creativity'.
@@male272 I don't think that any thing diminishes the original work, which is only proving how great it is. I think the outlook that nothing should ever be adapted or all works are stagnant is kind of misguided though. Just within this specific topic, the Jackson movies have issues but a lot of people came to the books through them. The animated Hobbit movie is widely seen as both faithful and enjoyable. The Lord of The Rings Online game tells many new stories within ME and doesn't compromise the lore or the feel of it. The difference between these things and others are they have at their core a dedication and respect for the original works. Even in Jackson's films, the majority of changes in it I can understand from a movie making point of view. There's a logic anchoring them. When you throw that out the window is when you get what we're getting and if the option is what we see now or nothing, I'm with you on the nothing.
THIS COULD BE THE NEXT TOLKEIN BLOCKBUSTER SCRIPT!!! I wish someone would get creative and grab stuff like your work to reference for Tolkein stuff. A little bit of creative liberty goes a long way.
But honestly, I just LIVE for this Silmarillion visit you are doing and how. Proud of you folks 💚
Ummmmm June 26th will see the arrival of Elrond in the LotR game? Idk what day it is for you, but for me it is July 2nd
Rain died of grief on the mound of the fallen.
Who would win in a hand to hand duel, Tuor or his relative Hurin? Both beasts for human characters
WOAH!
From Tuor the greatest house of men arose, and the weakest.
Does Tuor "rise" in this video? I think "The Coming of Tuor" might be a better title. I nean, the video covers his full journey to Gondolin.
"Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin" is my favourite tale from "Unfinished Tales". Especially the description of the Seven Gates of Gondolin.
@@richardthomas9497
I like that part too. Tolkien paints such a vivid description of the gates and the material of which they are made.
Tuor and the fall of Gondolin would a great movie, if made properly in the way of LotR.
It is said that tuor never ceased his mewing streak
Day 7 of asking for legend of the galactic heroes
Day 3 of asking for Killzone.
I'm always recommending anime/manga, my top picks are Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist or GUNDAM UC.
Where the Foooookkk is The White or Grey Wizard 😂😂😂 isn't he 2000 Years old 😂😂
@@ThinkViralShorts Actually the Wizards would not appear in Middle Earth, until the Third Age round the year 1000.
Part 2?

I'm pretty sure the narrator is confusing Hurin and Turin throughout this video.
