      Oh yeah?
      Literal quote from Mayo clinic:
"May 4, 2018 - A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear that triggers severe physical reactions when there is no real danger or apparent cause."

"Anxiety is a real thing. People keep saying it’s not real."
Medical community is filled up with covert psychopaths. CBT will claim that anxiety is hallucination, irrational - that is has no cause, that it is our invention.
Like Trump but with higher IQ - still very much criminally insane and dangerous to community.
Pharma mafia is making huge money income based on human neurosis. IT hides information about true cause of anxiety and panic: trauma. And they muddle it with self pathology approach, self blame and self hate.
DSM and CBT bans trauma information, but WHO's ICD-11 recognizes Complex Trauma as real thing.

John got one thing very right here and I know this from experience. The worst thing you can do for someone with this issue is to treat them as if they are helpless and in need of being taken care of and fixed. That only makes them fall deeper into the anxiety because now they start to fear losing their caregiver. Belief in their own self-sufficiency is what they need.

I once had a friend who had anxiety. I learned decaf is best. I also prepared a little designer bag that said: 'Today is a good day to have a good day' - I filled the little bag with artistic note cards that had positive and comforting KJV Bible verses.

Most people with anxiety and panic issues really try to hide it. They are aware that it is annoying to other people and they are mostly empaths and HSPs. They do not want to bother others with their fears and will do anything to appear "strong".
On the other hand , there are psychopaths - mostly aggressive borderliners - who are using up their unresolved trauma as a tool to control and manipulate other people, unfortunately. That is why aggressive borderliners are next to narcissists.
If someone is repeating the same unhealthy pattern and not doing anything about anxiety - it is a sign that this person is dangerous, toxic, manipulative. Like Amber. This is how abuse is born - narcissists will become abusers themselves and spread it to next generation.
Anything we do to calm anxiety - it will become addiction.
Anxiety is trauma, it is Charcot hysteria. It is sign there was attack and abuse in the past - and this trauma is unresolved.
We are talking here about healing Complex Trauma.
      Panic is mere dysregulation.
Anything we nitpick with anxiety and intrusive thoughts - will make it worse. Jung said - what you resist will persist.
Anxiety and panic stems from us not being aware that covert abusers exists - our brain tries to tell us that "safe" people we trust are toxic and dangerous, they wear fake mask and exploit us and take advantage of us. Our job is to become Sherlock Holmes or scientist in laboratory and see what is happening around us- seek clues red flags of abusers and narcissists.
Improving our relationships is improving our mental health.
      William Glasser
Interpersonal strife with those close to us leads to rifts and resentments that produce symptoms of mental illness; these problems are, in fact, the logical consequence of troubled relationships.
Glasser emphasizes that lasting psychological problems are usually caused by problems in our personal relationships (rather than signifying a biochemical abnormality in the brain), and distress can be remedied through repairing these relationships without recourse to psych drugs.

Wow. It's so awesome that this guy cares enough to find out how he can help. My brother was discussing a family member one day who had been struggling with anxiety and he called her "crazy" several times and said she was taking "crazy medicine". It's nothing to laugh at, but there are so many people who would change their tune if it happened to them. I experienced some of this when my Mother died in 2019, but I'm dealing with it now. My Mom was my one rock in life and when she passed, I knew I'd never have that kind of love and support ever again. However, I've learned to cope and now I encourage others.

Nice tip! I do that to my mothers dog who also has vagus nerve issues. Started doing it intuitively one day. She just slowly melts into the couch or bed or floor or your lap, and her tremors stop. Feels good on your own shins too. It's a little like weighted blanket compression.

What if you have no connection, no autonomy and no safety? I cut off my abusive family, bc they still are trying to abuse me at 36, so I only have my boyfriend and it’s a terrible relationship. He’s just like them in that he is present sometimes, just enough to keep me depending on him, but I am more often than not disappointed and feel abandoned in all the daily things he does or doesn’t do. If I have a panic attack he might attempt to comfort me but always gets irritated and chooses to take it personally if I tell him I need some other form of help like a hug. I have to ask for a hug every time I have a panic attack and he knows it’s the first thing that helps me. I feel like he’s really absent and distant and treats my anxiety like a chore but his dismissal of my anxiety before it got this bad, along with no friends or family has me at my worst. It’s hurting my muscles and nerves all the time now from tensing up so much. I don’t know how to make it through bc I lost my job, became dependent on him and then it just cascaded from there.
I know I need to get working again but getting out of bed is hard sometimes. Especially when he pouts about me having anxiety. I get that he’s tired of it but so I’m I.

@@l-train7876well I’m sure if people around you were aware of what was happening they were worried for you as there is a bit of unknown. Not to mention his girl just lost someone so her mind may have went straight to him having something more long term wrong or some serious damage. It’s not really his fault for being not sure of the situation himself. You can’t just tell people it’s all ok when they are working to find that out.
