    You gave me some ideas.. I'm going to see if my emergency blanket would work like this. Just trying to stop the air. I use a sleeping bag too. Thanks bro ❤

      @@ReWyldOutdoors I'm going on a 18 mile hike on an abandoned railroad here in Bulls Gap Tn. There's a river I'm going to fish and I was worried about getting cold. I get colder at 54 than when I was younger. Thank you for your video idea I subscribed to your channel.

      I have that exact blanket and I’m going to try this. Did you add additional grommets? Also, what size shock cord did you end up using? I’m thinking of using spring fasteners with the shock cord to bunch the ends.

    I know I'm behind on this but I feel the same way. No reason to pay ridiculous prices for stuff you can actually do yourself. Don't have a sewing machine but I can see more options to sew along the edges as well as sewing on patches to make the grommet areas more secure.
    Thanks for this.

    I like your idea. Been thinking of doing this. My only mod I'm gonna do other than some additional grommets to cinch up the ends is putting a thin line of shoe goo glue on the grommets for a seal. Just a thought but love me some budget hacks! Great job! Love how inexpensive it is. I happen to have the tools so I can repair various pieces of gear BUT the tools I found with a ton of grommets was 10 bucks and you can repair things for years.

    A hammock 🤔... yeah I have a plan and parts to make one ... weaving the 550 cord into a fishnet caused a delay. Maybe I should just buy one?

      There are some decent hammocks on the market for very reasonable prices! It's hard to beat that satisfaction of knowing you made it yourself though!

    This man is not fooling around with his grommets! With the size of those bad boys he could lift a vehicle.

    Man thats awesome. I need that gorment kit. Ive got a old woobie that would make a great cheap underquilt. Looks like the same style and material

      Look up a PLUQ, ponch liner under quilt. All you need is shock cord and cord locks if you've already got the poncho liner 👌

    I like that idea. Im anxious to try this myself. I may add a few more grommets along the feet and head ends and use strech cord to sinch up the slack. Like that of a stuffsack. Good job!

    • @ReWyldOutdoors
      @ReWyldOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good thought!!! I like the fact that it's not just an underquilt, it can still be used as a blanket if you want!!!

  • @luiscastro2761

    Nice job!! Maybe adding a few more grommets at the head and foot box with the shock cord can help retain heat around those area better? Awesome job making it work! Don't see why an underquilt needs to be so dammed expensive!

    • @ReWyldOutdoors
      @ReWyldOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1
