They could also change the A/C control, however a significant update of Infotainment.
Yeah the A/C controls are an eye sore big time.
Still have an ugly climate control unit, also that’s the same information center screen as Chrysler, same as my srt jeep , identical!!

Haha hey its changed up a little bit, like the Maserati Trident logo as the home button but yeah thats the big controversy with the merger. I think its for the better though. Like Lamborghini using Audi's infotainment with their merger.
Are you guys trying to say that Dodge parts are inferior? Seems to me like if anything breaks, it'll be cheaper to fix. Doesn't look like these parts aren't durable to me. I'm not a Dodge fan but still.

personally what maserati needs is to use materials of better quality in certain locations such as the window controls or the ac control in this car or even a better engine with let's say 450-500 horsepower because those are the arguments everyone that supports german cars is coming up with! or in another case just lower the price a bit. a comment coming from a huge ghibli fan!
I appreciate that feedback and yes I agree. Quality has always been the topic of conversation. This car is at 454hp but should be at 500. I think all Maserati's should have no less than 400 unlike base model Levante's and Ghiblis.
But if all Maseratis were at 400hp or more, would they sell the volumes they so desperately need? Surely the reason sales have dramatically risen in recent years is because they've made a more affordable product, the Ghibli and Levante, which they need to survive. Add the fact that Maserati and Alfa Romeo will be team sponsors in F1 in 2018 and you can see what they are prioritising - sales.

it just looks like a ipad ingraded into it,,, maserati needs to stop being cheap with the granturismo, why they picking on it, everything else looks refreshed exept the granturismo
Nooo way, look at the screens in Mercedes vehicles, those look like iPads stuck on the dash but yeah it needs to be replaced with something new I agree there.
The buttons are nice, sometimes you need a physical feedback but I wish the AC controls were capacitive, like on Audi. It can show you what current settings you have on just by hovering on the button. And I wish the trident was larger on the steering wheel
Its just because of the design on that steering wheel be so old that the Trident is small. I really do love those Audi A/c controls as well.

Yeah you can tell the interior wasnt designed for it. I think if they would have replaced the A/C controls below it, it would have looked a bit cleaner.
People buy a Maserati specifically for the exhaust note, and nothing else. Why do you think the dashboard has been 1990s, since 1990?
Wait wait, you must be talking about the Granturismo, this is the Ghibli. The GT is the only model that really hasn't been updated.

Oh cool thanks! We drove with the white base GranSport model and drove with the Granlusso S model but I'll have to find an SQ4 to drive. My dealer currently doesn't have one. I'll have to GoPro the exhaust as well :)

Rons Rides yeah I know , it’s a huge upgrade but at the same time who wants to spend all of that money on a car and have a radios from a Chrysler 300 with a Maserati logo. Like they didn’t try to change anything to make it exclusive beside the Maserati lofo

Yes on my 2017 Maserati that I just bought the screen is one of the worst part of this car, mine keep going blank by itself and dealer says nothing wrong with it , Maserati is a junk overall

Rons Rides i love the granturismo and QP but Maserati needs to step their game up. I was considering buying a GT but then i remembered that the M6 exists
The GranTurismo is a pre-FCA model and has never used cheap components.

Random stuff goes wrong my friends 14 GranTurismo Sport Convertible. Right Mirror stopped working, rear suspension issues, steering wheel squeaks constantly and has been sent in 3 times already to fix it.
MBisFrenchy hmm you know so many details about life and issues of your friend's "GranTurismo Convertible", BUT you ignore it's simply called "GranCabrio" stamped nice and clear on a pretty big chrome badge on the dashboard right in front of the passenger's seat. That's weird.
It's an update for sure! But it doesn't fit well for me it looks like it was just glued on just looks out of place and cheap!
I hear ya, not as bad as those iPad looking screens on the Mercedes cars haha.
Rons Rides Hi, i have a face lifted CLS AMG 63S and I really like the screen, and how it sits proud. It might look "stuck on", but it's really easy to see as it is higher, and I think looks quite modern. You really get to like the position as you live with it. BTW, I know Maserati are criticised for the build quality. Trust me, mercedes are not built too well, I've had multiple serious quality issues and faults, and still have more appearing (2 years into ownership).
Never realized you had problems with Mercedes build quality. I know so many people praise the brand and criticize Maserati. Wis everyone knew that all car brand are NOT perfect.
Notice how the climate control display still uses a 80s digital display. Black block numbers over beige. Not even a dot matrix display... That is so Maserati!
irisfailsafe It’s called liquid crystal display. Doesn’t bother me anyhow.
It kinda looks cheap 😢.... especially with the subpar screen quality...
I def see where you are coming from, I think I just compare it to the old system and it looks 1,000 times better but its not in the same league as its German rivals.
