Only thing I have to add, is that in order for the lower cargo bay doors to open the infantry bay needs to be removed, which is done via the co-pilot seat at the front
I recently built a small grid ship i took on a tour of the survival solar system which i added a table and a couple of chairs and felt super fancy doing it. Then i see these ships that are 90% greeble and feel a little humbled, then again once you get around 3K or so blocks for a small grid in survival building it becomes a nightmare without a printer. My ship was ~2,800K blocks and around 10,000 PCU and by the time i'd finished designing/building it i was spent.
Two things first it kind of reminds me of the ghost from Star wars rebels second it seems a bit counter productive in its cargo hold size I mean you can add more but just to medium cargo containers per pod seems a bit counterproductive
Hey all, quick new player question here. At 2:15 LK says this ship is almost impossible to use in survival. Why is that? Does supergridding affect performance notably in some way? Or is it more of a situation where the ship is too fuel inefficienct to be used? If thats the case what could be done to prevent that issue in other builds? I havent left the first planet yet so im still learing the mechanics. Thanks all
Have you encountered clang yet? He is a benevolent god that takes complicated builds, especially using rotors, pistons, or hinges, and shakes them into oblivion. As far as I can tell, this build isn't using Supergridding, which would be glitching Large grid and Small grid together. I think it uses a small rotor with a large head, which allows you to switch grid sizes in survival too. Clang gets unhappy when there are too many subgrids on a single grid. It used to be way worse but the developers have fixed many bugs to make it less of an issue.
It's not impossible to use in survival, it's impossible to build, as supergridding involves editing a blueprint file to basically make large grid blocks directly attach to small grid blocks, which isn't something you can do using survival tools or projectors. You pretty much have to spawn them in creative in order to get them into a world. Sub-gridding is a similar concept where you use large grid rotors or hinges with a small grid head to be able to place small grid blocks as a sub-grid of a large grid. That works in survival just fine but the difference is that supergridding makes everything a part of the same grid, while sub-gridding has the small grid blocks as, well, sub grids, with all the limitations that come with that.
Thank you for taking a look at this fella
Quite the build fella
@indy1139 You guys nailed the “Star Wars” feel! I’ve been trying some like this and I’m not skilled! Fantastic job!
Only thing I have to add, is that in order for the lower cargo bay doors to open the infantry bay needs to be removed, which is done via the co-pilot seat at the front
That explains it
Indy, do you use Merge Blocks on your Subgrids to prevent Klangout?
My first thought seeing this ship was the Ghost from Star Wars Rebels, this beauty is absolutely gorgeous in her own right!
Same thing
Nice design on the cargo bay ramp and crane
a work of art this again proves how much creativity can acomplish with time and effort
If only we had more small grid vanilla blocks!!
Only if they weren’t so laggy
I love the assault turrets design
Looks like a ww2 USN 5 inch twin gun turret
That is one good looking ship!
I wish I was 1/10 as talented as these guys, then my ships wouldn’t look like I drew them in Microsoft’s paint 😂
This is why i love small grids!
the detail on this ship is crazy so awesome build and to have a fit in second ship is awesome great job
Just in time for the small grid jump drive.
What a great looking ship

The interior had me shouting wow after wow after wow after wow after wow...
Imagine what creators of this ability could do with the unified grid system in SE2
The front of the ship is just straight up the vcx-100 Ghost form Star Wars rebels
Looks like a modified version of the Ghost from Star Wars Rebels
fr
Quite impressive looking very nice!
wish my builds were that good.

This is from that one fan movie.
You have a separate ship!!1!! Haha lovely man
Astounding build. A real shame those tricks don't work in survival.
that top turret looks like its inspired by the nebulous: fleet command turrets
Wtf this is insane looking
I’m salivating

hello
Hello 🧍♂️
It looks it was built by John Deere
there's also a video on it, the creator made a cinematic for it
How?
😋
i forgot to sub after first watching this video but sub-25K sub gaming
