I think it's funny that Simon is so quickly bored with card tricks and close up magic yet never seems to get bored with little kids and singers with sympathy stories

I agree with Simon. He messed up that Rubik's cube shake up bit, but recovered well. Did get boring after a while, not to say he isn't great, it's just unfortunate that we already had a great close up magician last year.
Eric chien's way of speaking english is so good! Not many taiwanese understand english because they only speak while focusing on chinese intonation as well as read chinese characters besides alphabets
He is very humble..almost so much that it is confused with not confident. His magic was so much cleaner than the other guys... The other magic preformance tonight was more of a math trick.
And his involved just sneaking in cubes from behind the table that too not in a subtle way..sad to see that he wasn't flawless this time...who otherwise presents really well

1:09 for a second you can see 4 cubes when he messed up picking up the first cube, that was the most obvious part for me And then in 2:26 he dropped the cubes behind the table before he showed that there's nothing inside the cup
I love Eric, and I always get thrilled by each of his acts. But I don't know why this performance didn't bring me goosebumps, and was kind of boring, although it was so technical and amazing: Maybe lack of story, proper background music, and lack of dynamics. Just not good presentation of his genius.

Agreed. Usually his magic was poetic but this time it's missing that factor. His final presentation in Asia's Got Talent was so good it made me believe in magic. I remember Mat Franco also messed up a bit but his presentation was amazing the audience could accept it. Shin Lim also made a mistake in one of talk shows he was invited (I don't remember which talk show was it), but he recovered with his charisma & showmanship.

2:02 Look at the three cubes on the board and look at their position. You see the two back cubes are green/white and they are not sideways together! When he covers the cubes with his hand then the other cubes will be rotated on the board. The new cubes are not side by side and their cubes are blue and red! 😎
glad he still made it through despite all the mistakes here. He's really talented, and if you watch his version of this trick on asias got talent, its much better performed and done. Hopefully he doesnt have those messups again, either way, truly talented for him to recover and keep his compsure despite some shaky slight of hand moves, seemed like he was nervous or hadn't practiced as much as he should've leading up to this. Dudes still crazy talented though and its a great trick when performed flawlessly as he did in Asias got talent; hope he has a chance at the win this year and the rest of his performances are flawless

He's getting his rubiks cubes from under the table 0:310:40, and at 1:11 there was already a solved one, it came out by accident, and at 2:25 he switched the regular rubiks cube with the chocolate one
I think he put the bar too high for his first performance, so people start to expecting something more from him, that's why they feel a bit dissapointed with this performance.
I mean the other guys trick was soooo freakin easy it always has the same outcome and is basically a mathematical trick not really hard to do. I agree Eric maybe didnt have a good presentation in this one but the closeup argument just isnt working for me here just look at shin lim he won with closeup magic. Simons argument is always the same and that bores me not the closeup stuff
Simon probably saw Asia's Got Talent, haha... the same reason why they kicked out Adem Show. Those guys were doing the same things on Asia's got talent.

I think close up magic demonstrated a lot of talent considering the time and effort put into sleight of hand.
