You are "Diesel Creek, NY Edition"!!! LOL You are mechanical enough to tackle anything on that puppy including the rear main. It was designed for 18yo kids to be able to keep it running! Great find and I suspect it will serve you well and make you very happy 😊
It's funny -- I found a repair manual put out by the gov'ment in the 1950s for these trucks. And it pretty much describes how those 18 year olds can do most of the repairs and maintenance :)
You can find parts at C&C equipment. They can get you parts for that truck. And it's on TH-cam and it's called C&C equipment.
Thanks for the tip buddy! I thought you might have some leads
@metaspencer the flare fitting on the side of the air filter should go to a gauge or indicator on the dash to show you when the air filter needs to be cleaned. It works by measuring the vacuum created when air cannot flow through the dirty air filter. I hope this helps. 🤓
That makes perfect sense but I never would have thought of it. I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip!
OMGSH, I love this Truck... I'm on Marketplace right now! 🤣🤣🤣 Something about the simplicity and chill of that rig makes me want one pretty bad.. I bet I could get away with that as a Daily Driver in ol' Arkansas! 😁
Daily driver all the way! I'm hoping to take it on some local jobs that need a little something "extra" haha
Oh boy...turn Spencer loose and you dont know what he may come up with...😂
If you were 45 I would say it´s a midlife crisis to get a thing like that! But you are not and so there has to be another reason for this beast. Please share! 😉
Yeah you said it: I already had my midlife crisis vehicle (an old prison bus, long since sold)! haha ... So maybe this one is an aging guy needing to to see if a 72 year old truck has any pep? I mean I said just last week "No more trucks!" and then this happened. I have no solid explanation but can tell you that I've fired it up every day since I've had it just cause it calls out: "Drive me!"
The multifuel m35a2 were later models. You should be able to flip the rear hubs and run single tires on the rear. Check out steel soldiers for any info you need. I have several build videos on my channel of my old m35a2c.
I'll check out your channel now ... thanks for the tip!
Man that thing looks cool. Nice find indeed.
It's been pretty fun so far -- lots of tinker with
OMG where did you find that? So Awesome
A couple of dudes a few miles from us were selling it -- they got it at auction up in Syracuse :) good times for sure!
How COOL is that Spencer! Can't wait to see more on this truck!
Thanks Loren!
Love it, looking forward to this truck project and more videos!
Big thanks!
Sweet
👍 Sweet ride. Congrats ❤
Just love the rumble of those trucks! Looking forward to seeing it on some jobs and your Spencer handiwork for steps, ... Great job 👊🌲 Great video
Thanks for checking it out! Yeah, the truck has been pretty fun to tinker on
This is the m35 gas only engine .make sure you are at a full stop before you lock in the front axle . You can find the toolbox steps for the drivers side and on my m35a2 there is a battery box and step on the passenger side. You should get the hood shields and then there is air filter cover. I think you're truck is nice and has a lot of potential. I've heard the gas engines run great but not good on mileage. Also that is a hard top and it's ether on or off but you could get a soft top if that is what you want. I have a soft and have never had it off.
Great tips man -- big thanks! I'm eager to find those steps for sure and the truck seems to be running better all the time, but I've still gotta go through the carb. Lots to do but DANG it's fun driving that truck
Love those things. I drove many studebaker duces when I was in the army...
Oh wow, some real world experience with them! that's pretty cool to hear. My Dad was in Korea in '52 when this thing was built and I kinda wonder if he drove a similar truck back then too
Nice truck! I’m excited to see it on some tree jobs!
You and me both! I've got a big maple to pull over next week ... just might need the Deuce :)
That's a awesome old truck. I love to find one like that. Just curious how much you paid for it.
It cost me a couple of grand but in my experience with old vehicles, that's only the beginning :)
Way to short this video! That truck will be a serious logging companion
Well, I guess I'll have to make another couple vidyas about the old beast :)
It's to bad it runs so good. That beast would make a sweet electric conversion. :)
haha
Love it! Got a title?
Too old for a title in this state but it's got a registration ... haven't taken it out on the roads much (though I did use it to pull another truck out last week ... worked pretty well)
That is a very cool project to add to your “to do” list. I think it ranks up there near the bus project. 😊
It has been reminding me of the prison bus! (only a little shorter)
Military trucks load rating is for cross country/offroad. On road it is doubled. 1952 had no multi-fuel engines. If that one is m-f, it is not original. However, sure looks like a carbed engine, so it would be gas.
Also, that's not a 2 speed rear. That is the high-low range shifter for the transfer case.
High-low range! makes sense ... only one range is working so there's that :) Definitely not multifuel it's a REO gasser
Cool
Ahhhhhhhhhhh that's the weirdest wood chipper I have ever seen 🤔🤔🤔 .. Very strange 🧐🧐🧐
hahaha ... it works on the principle of compaction: wood goes under the tires and the 10k of weight pulverizes everything
A new beast in the collection 👍
1952 means its a year older than me. A true classic 😊
That's right!
So very cool. Great find.
Time to put your spin on it.
you said it ;)
Super cool find.
Pretty cool! She's a beast for sure. 🙂
oh yeah! all of that
what a classic
sweet vid!
Certainly a new project.
Yeah keeping me on my toes my friend
Nice project Spencer. This will be fun to follow you along. Does NY do a bottle deposit on the baby bottle?
hahaha got me with that one! those measurements on the side might be good for keeping track of how much whisky goes in the mixed drinks ;)
hey, planting season is coming up!
I grafted 30 heirloom apple varieties Saturday. 70 more to go
I have around 1000 seedling trees to plant this spring. White pine, Norway spruce, white spruce, Doug fir, Dawn Redwood, chestnuts, oaks, persimmon, and those apples.
I think you’d like those Dawn redwood. A guy in Vermont has some that are 30 years old. They grow fast. I have them coming g from Chief River
that sounds sooooooo great@@nhmountains5683 ... I'll have to look into those Dawn redwood, haven't heard of them. I'm looking for some nice apple trees to add to the planting over here which currently looks like 100 more chestnuts and an array of firs ... that grafting sounds amazing!
Need to mount 50cal on top of cab😂
You're not the first one to suggest that
What on earth! Very cool Spence.
hahaha ... it's been a fun one so far
This is awesome!!! Great video
It has been a ton of fun so far
It sounds really cool
yeah it's got that ... rrrrrumble
That is Very Cool!

That’s pretty cool

it's old but it's gold. lovely old truck dude... very nice indeed!

Fun beast. 😂
