  • In this video I show you exactly what goes into building a Fully TIG welded stainless steel exhaust system. I built this one using a jig that I made, but the process would be exactly the same if you were building off of a car.

    Sick skills. Love the jig - would love to see more on that.
    Are you backpurging with the same tank that you're shielding the tig welds with? If so, do you just tee off the main line, and does the flow rate change at all?
    If not, are you using a second tank? I've seen folks backpurge with a 2nd tank, but only saw one tank in your vid and looked like it was coming off the same tank.
    Thanks !

    • @Kordare
      @Kordare  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Sorry for the late response. Normally I use a second tank but when I only have one tank left I use a tee with two regulators and it works great. Keep in mind backpurge only needs like 1cfh to keep positive pressure.

    Hey man, nice work, silly question..but how does it work..knowing where exactly the curve will be..okay where to weld its your choice, but do you somehow measure it?

      This is a system I have built many times before so I have a jig to know where everything goes. When doing a new car you need to constantly be going back and forth under the car to get everything in the right spot.

      Kordare I’ve got the welding part down, I work for a company that welds awning and horse stalls so I do a lot of aluminum and carbon steel my trouble comes from fabricating and understanding how to bend where to bend and such

    • @Dr_Xyzt
      @Dr_Xyzt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check out Walter abrasives. They have a lot of products. As time goes on, you'll find that having variable speed tools makes a big difference in the quality of work you're able to do, and how tired you get when you're doing it. Another good combination is a variable speed dewalt grinder, and 5/8" to 1/4" arbor conversion so you can use little 2" die grinder cutoff wheels for deburring. The dust goes down into the tube, instead of all over your shop/lungs.
