War Journal of Force Commander Aramus, Blood Ravens 4th Company:
Calderis has been secured, at least for the time being.
But the war for Sub-Sector Aurelia has only just begun & its obvious that we are facing a much more serious & complicated threat than just war-mongering Orks.
My battle-brothers & I have arrived in orbit above the jungle Feral World of Typhon Primaris for two reasons. Firstly, to defend a communications array against Ork looters & Secondly, to investigate the reports of Aeldari activity that had been detected on that world & If we found evidence of Eldar interference, to put a stop to it.
We deployed to Typhon & we did indeed find evidence of an Eldar presence on Typhon, We found that a Warp Spider Exarch was stirring up the Feral Orks of the Evil Sunz Klan located deep in Typhon's jungles into revolt and he and his force had to be put down.
However, This Exarch mentioned nothing of the so-called "greater foe" once confronted by my brothers & I, which struck me as odd. But we didn't get a chance to investigae further because Captain Thule asked us to return to Calderis as Mek Badzappa was launching an all-out attack against the capital of the desert planet.
But that's not what's worrying me, What is worrying me is that its citizens were also reporting plants mutating and small purple creatures killing livestock.
There is only one thing that I can think of that can explain these reports & if I'm right, We've got even bigger problem on our hands than just Orks or Eldar.
We departed Typhon & returned to Calderis just as Mek Badzappa was launching his final assault against the captial & after a long & rather glorious battle, I was finally able to claim Badzappa's head & my battle-brothers ruthlessly purged every last Ork from Calderis.
But in that moment of victory, My worst fears were quickly realized when we were assailed by a massive swarm of Tyranids! The ravenous swarms of The Great Devour, drawn from a probable splinter fleet of Hive Fleet Leviathan, had entered Sub-sector Aurelia intent on devouring all of our worlds.
In the ensuing battle, many of our brothers were killed & Captain Thule was mortally wounded by a Tyranid Warrior. Thankfully, Techmarine Martellus lead the rest of us still on Calderis back to safety after destroying the attacking Tyranid swarms with a Thunderhwak bombardment.
But there was still much work to be done & we promptly returned to Typhon, leaving Apothecary Gordian in charge of caring for the badly wounded Davian Thule.
When we arrived at Typhon, My strike force & I killed the Eldar Ranger Nemerian, who had been stirring up even more trouble for the Imperium amongst the Feral Orks and once we were done with him, we returned to Calderis once again to hunt down & kill the Tyranid Warrior who had mortally wounded Captain Thule.
