In the grim darkness of the far future, There is only war!
In the closing years of M41 The Imperium of Man fought a series of apocalyptic conflicts against the encroaching Tyranid Hive Fleets in which casualties among Imperial Guard Regiments have been so high that it seems as if the Tyranids are annihilating them faster than they can be deployed & thousands of planets have been reduced to lifeless husks.
These conflicts were latter immortalized in Imperial History as: The Tyrannic Wars.
But the most famous of these battles came in 999.M41 during The Third Tyrannic War when the Tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan assailed the Death World of Baal, The homeworld of The Blood Angels Space Marines & the battle that followed was one of the most apocalyptic in Imperial History.
It would become known as: The Devastation Of Baal.
In the immediate aftermath of the Devastation of Baal, The Blood Angels are left to pick up the pieces & began to rebuild their chapter. Their gene-seed stocks were recalled & their Chapter's ranks, along with their Successor Chapters of the Sanguinary Brotherhood, were further bolstered by a huge influx of Primaris Space Marines.
